It’s generic, run of the mill Tapas. I took my girlfriend here the day before valentines. Mainly to not run into the V-Day rush. I was disappointed to see menus laminated. When I think of Tapas I think of food experimentation; where I’m going to find something new; with the regular standbys. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by other Tapas places? Food was good; but nothing that just blows my mind. Beer selection was poor; of course; this is a wine place.

Really disappointed as I expected so much Better! I love tapas and am a frequent Spanish traveler. These were some of the worst tapas I have ever had. The worst part is the garlic mushrooms which were just oily and garlicky but had no other flavor .How do you mess up mushrooms? The patio is nice in the summer but for the price i will not return!

Really bad! The chorizo tasted like old thin jerky. The meatballs were the only thing that was decent. We had a salad, chips with chorizo and AWFUL tomato bread. The bread was stale pita with a thick tomato sauce and onions. Did not remind me of Barcelona!

I really liked this place. I found it on Unilocal and tapas sounded like just the fun food I was looking for. A friend wanted to go out but neither of us really dig big heavy meals so Tapas perfectly fit the bill. The location is great, Old Colorado City is just fun. It’s a teeny tiny place and we managed to get a table, reservations aren’t a bad idea. I ordered a dirty martini, it was pricey but strong and did the trick, one is all I needed and perhaps would have liked it a bit dirtier. I’ll try their blood orange sangria next time! We ordered 6 tapas, grilled oysters — yum yum but small serving, the baked garlic bulb — delicious, garlic stuffed mushrooms — they were decent and a good sized serving, loved the jamon wrapped dates — I could eat them by the handful and would have liked just a couple more with the serving, the carne adobada tacos were tasty, and the meatballs were really good and savory. Overall everything was tasty. I’ve been to other tapas restaurants and I’ll inevitably not like a dish or two… that just wasn’t the case here. Everything was good. The service was great, food came out as it was prepared right there behind the bar. It was a nice steady delivery of food. I saw a couple negative reviews and I can’t help but think they were just there on an off, odd night or brought a negative air with them because I had no complaints. You do have to be ok with close quarters for sure so try to sit at the bar if you can. I’ll go back for sure, I definitely want to try more of their dishes. Our bill came in at about $ 36 minus the martini, a little pricey for some perhaps but it was tasty and I enjoyed the evening. It would be a perfect place for a first date.

Still one of my favorite get away places. The food is as delicious as the atmosphere.

This is one of our favorite«special date» spots, especially in the summer time when you can sit outside on the patio. The tapas are always fresh and made to order. In the summertime, they have specials on the weekends with the chef outside, great atmosphere. We have never been disappointed by a single dish and always order almost the whole menu and a couple bottles of wine. Highly recommend and for those who are gluten intolerant, every single dish is gluten-free! Worth every penny!

Tasty, regional, flavorful tapas. Get this: this place does ‘wine flights’. You should expect to drop a bit more coin with it being a tapas bar but it’s worth it. My top 3: –Manchego-Stuffed Piquillo Peppers –Chorizo & Figs –Patatas Bravas Pros: Almost every menu was delicious Cons: Slow, relaxed,(and occasionally inattentive) service. Some unjustifiable prices

Tapateria is the bomb. A refreshing change from the chains of c springs. Authentic, eclectic and tasty menu in a pint sized bistro. Great service and meals. We shared many items but the Tortilla Espanola, Garlic Mushrooms, Stuffed Peppers, Lamb Sausage and Cheese/Charcuterie plate ruled the ramblas! It was cool to sit at the bar and watch precision in the«kitchenette» by the chefs. Amazing dinner and we look forward to returning shortly. Buen Provecho!

What a gem in the world of gluten free food! The carne adobada tacos were ridiculously good, and I don’t even have words for the chorizo-stuffed mushrooms with goat cheese. They had«mulled wine» which sounded interesting, a hot red wine(yes, hot) with cider-like mulling spices. If you like hot cider and you like red wine, I think you’ll love this as much as I did! Great restaurant with a beautiful inside atmosphere and outside garden.

What a great experience! My friend has a garlic allergy, and our fab server, Ken, and chefs accommodated her dietary restrictions with grace and seemed to really appreciate our business, even though they were very busy. It was a fabulous, enjoyable treat to be here! LOOOOOOVE this restaurant!

Moderate GF selection, fiancé did not get sick. Staff was ok. Prices were a little more than reasonable. Hours are fair. Sitting was slightly uncomfortable. I don’t feel a need to ever go back.

Came here tonight for the first time. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance inside is relaxing with dark walls and a high ceiling — great for a date or small group of friends. We started with the fruity white wine flight — good. We ordered chorizo stuffed mushrooms — delicious, grilled red peppers stuffed with cheese — delicious, lamb sausage — delicious, dates wrapped with ham and stuffed with a cashew — surprise winner of the night(we ordered a second one), thinly sliced buffalo with manchego and capers — I really liked this one, but it wasn’t my hubby’s favorite. Had a blood orange Sangria — not a very distinct flavor for me. Dessert — chocolate bread(shavings of dark chocolate toasted onto bread — yum!) and salted caramel gelato — we ended up putting the gelato on the bread and having our own flavor creation. All around good time. Friendly service and yummy food.

Been here multiple times, its got some good things, and some not so good things. Some of the portions really don’t match up with the price. I got the garlic mushrooms they were great came with 6 of them and were decently priced. We usually always go as a group and get the big meat/cheese plate. The last time we went we got the end of the blue cheese, I didnt try it but one of the girls took a bite and immediately regretted it, the staff apologized said they would let their cooks know they need to not serve the ends of the blue cheese. Some of the other things I’ve tried that were good, were the tacos, the escargot, the chorizo and figs. One thing that I got was horrible was the oysters :(I dont know what seasoning they put on it, but its so bad, and it was so piled on there, also had a lot of shell bits in my mouth when I ate them. All In all its a still a cute play to try in old colorado city. but be careful and ask questions so you dont end up with something you dont like. The service has usually been good and helpful. So we appreciate that.

Great place. Fresh food. Nice people. The ginger ale is amazing. That aside, I know it’s tapas but the portions are way too small. The set up is great but the atmosphere I think could use some oomph. Maybe some music playing would even make a difference.

We had a nice time here at TAPAteria. For the few uneducated reviewers who are complaining about portion sizes, tapas mean small plates or appetizers. I love that the location of this place is in Old Colorado Springs. We had a hard time deciding what to order as they have quite a variety of tapas on their menu. The Local Albondigas were fantastic. I loved the flavor and the cheese in the Stuffed-Piquillo Peppers. The Gazpacho Shooter and some of the Olive tapas looked great but will have to wait for another time as we got full off of what we ordered. A great find and we appreciated our waitress helping explain all of the different plates to us.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon or evening. Excellent variety, exceptional service. Dog friendly patio. One of the best places on the west side.

Call me wonderfully surprised at TAPAteria. Even though they were having a private event, they let us sit at the one unreserved table and we were so happy we stopped in. The evening began with an assortment of the jamon wrapped dates, chorizo and figs, and carne adobada tacos. They were a lovely little party of flavors which we followed up with grilled padron peppers and the grilled shrimp. We were then surprised with a lovely gift of a charcuterie sampling of Colorado serano ham, a house smoked ham, and a house-made fig mustard that had us groaning with pleasure. I finally gave in and ordered a bit of the Iberico cheese to round out our meal. I swear, when I finally make it to the Ibérico region of Spain, I may never leave… but I digress. The blood orange sangria was lovely as was my tempranillo. Service was wonderful and attentive and everyone seemed to really enjoy what they were serving. The man who made the mustard and the house-smoked ham came out and chatted a bit with us about what he has curing. All in all, this is a delightful tapas place. I can’t wait to go back and go through more of the menu. On another bright note: they sell the cheeses and meats there for take away. Must head back for some more of the Iberico.
