Straka Elizabeth-Speech Pathologist

Love this woman. She is GREAT with kids and in just a matter of a few weeks has been successful in teaching my little girl how to properly pronounce her «R“s. The office is in an old Victorian home-​turned-​office building and there are areas in the waiting room and her office filled with toys and books and games. It makes for a professional yet personable environment — and a friendly, non-​threatening atmosphere for the little ones. Most of my daughter’s therapy has been administered through fun worksheets, an «R» word/​image dedicated «Go Fish» card game, and reading books like «Arthur» (lots of «R“s in Arthur books). My daughter enjoys it (although we limit our sessions to 30 minutes because it is hard work) and I enjoy observing. Ms. Straka is very fair and is familiar with area schools (she used to work for District 20 as a speech therapist). The office staff are gracious too. They are very patient and helpful in terms of scheduling appointments and explaining health insurance benefits relating to speech therapy. We still have some work to do but I’m so pleased with the results achieved with Straka Speech Therapy! Highly recommend.
