The best pizza have ever had. I have been here a couple times and I am never disappointed! The pizza is so so fresh and cooked to perfection. I had the pizza of the day today and the whipped goat cheese and spicy sauce with the Italian sausage was perfection! I highly recommend this place. If your looking for authentic Italian pizza this is your place and it’s damn good!!!

I was visiting from Arizona and wanted some pizza. Pizzeria Rustica did not disappoint. The Caprese Insalata was divine with the in-house made fresh mozzarella and basil pesto. The Rustica pizza was delicious with fresh arugula on top. I will definitely return in my next visit to Colorado Springs. Thank you Melissa for such pleasant service, even at the end of the evening.

Enjoyed the fonduta as a side. Margherita pizza was also enjoyable. Wasn’t amazing, but definitely good.

Chelsea was so friendly and knowledgable. Outside environment was just like Italy. Food was so good. Smoky melted cheese was to die for. Pizza is wood fire. Everything was great!

Best pizza I have had anywhere, ever. My reviews are normally longer, but I don’t have words. The fonduta was equally amazing. And the wine, too.

The original pizza rustica pizza is incredible. Pizza is a little pricy for the size but the ambience is nice and cozy.

Had dinner there with a party of 6. Great service & our wait person even asked if we wanted separate checks. Food was excellent & wine the right temperature & the desserts — OH, MY!!! Wonderful. The only comment I could make, being in food service in my ‘past life’, was… please clear off the wine glasses & everything else before serving dessert. The table was very crowded & we all shared the desserts in between the dirty dishes. Prices can add up, so be prepared. Expensive, but worth it. Great that they take reservations.

Spent a cold day at Garden of the Gods and wanted a warm vegetarian option for dinner. My girlfriend and I came here and were not disappointed. Yummy cheesy garlic pizza that was accompanied by both chili oil and truffle oil. Great service and price also.

The food is great and I love the atmosphere. We love thin crust pizza. The service is fabulous and quick! When my husband and I visit Old Colorado City, we usually eat here.

Pay More. Get Less. Way Less. If you’re looking to pay $ 15 for frisbee of bread, this is place for you. I have never seen such miserly portions of tomato sauce and cheese, the critical ingredients which make pizza so wonderful. They are distinctly missing here. Instead, each pie receives trace amounts of cheese and a scant puddle of sauce in the center, leaving a gratuitous ring of bone dry bread along the perimeter. This is unfortunate, because when you actually DO manage to get a bite which contains a finite amount of these essential ingredients, the flavors are quite delicious. Obviously, the problem does not rest with the skills of the culinary crew, but rather the stingy decision to withhold the very foundations of great pizza: sauce and cheese! What could possibly be the reason for this? Saving a few pennies on inventory? The tightfisted hands which deal such pitiful portions of these critical ingredients are ruining what could potentially be an outstanding product. I first tried Pizzeria Rustica four years ago and was appalled by the very things which I have written about in this review. Now here we are, four years later, and I came back hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, the only thing that has changed is a price increase. I will never be coming back.

I’ve eaten at Pizzeria Rustica multiple times as well as ordered out multiple times. Dining in person is definitely better than ordering out for two main reasons: 1. my order has been messed up twice now when ordering carry-out with no apologies and insinuating it was my fault, even when I specified the name of the pizza as well as the unique ingredients 2. there is very little concern for presentation of the food for carry-out; I ordered stuffed mushrooms last night and the stuffing fell out of all of them because they were just thrown in a random plastic cup; additionally, I ended up paying $ 1.50 per mushroom, which is more expensive than I would even pay in NYC or D.C. for something equivalent. While I used to be a fan of this restaurant, I am not sure I will be a future customer. My advice is to have the person taking your order repeat everything and to dine in the restaurant. Pick another place if you want carry-out.

Very good pizza in a city devoid of good pizza. Rustica was well done and very interesting with the ricotta-garlic ‘crust pocket’. And they played Sinatra the entire time we were there, so they killed it in ambiance. Looking forward to exploring the rest of this menu. Way too much hostility towards this place. If a business abides by a certain philosophy, why not try to respect it? They’re slow food, green, and pro-nature. Give them time to bake a pie, don’t complain if they don’t give you plastic silverware, and hug a tree. Seriously, go here and enjoy some tasty Italian

What a nice surprise. A quaint little place hidden in Old Colorado City. If you’re a pizza lover and appreciate an original brick oven baked pizza, this is it. The host says the pizza is made up of all home made/grown ingredients, even the cheese is made there! This little place sits on the main road of Old CO City and has a cute little outside sitting area molded between two buildings. Parking is plentiful and free at the back or park in front but there are meters. We haven’t had the chance to taste other things yet but we really enjoyed two pizzas and a lovely orange thingy desert, with a shot of well made espresso. We will update on our future visits. BTW…the outside court is pet friendly, so we enjoyed having our hound with us.

Ordered some food to go. They don’t have plastic utensils… seriously. I guess they expect you to eat salad with your hands. A 15 min wait on food turned into 35 mins. Soggy sad pizza. Called them to complain… the person I spoke with said that is how they make their pizza.

Perfect ending to a great Sunday. We shared a Caesar salad and then split a pizza. His half: Fromaggi e Pollo — 5 different cheeses, chicken sausage, red onion, san marzano tomatoes, and pistachios. My husband says the pistachios added just the right touch. My half: Quatro Stagioni — mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, baby black olives and artichoke hearts. Incredible! Service was excellent. Pizza reminded me of samplings I’ve had in Europe. This place is at the top of my pizza list!

Paula M thanks for uploading the photo. Nancy A. Thanks for the intro. I agree that I would give negative stars if they were available. I certainly have never been so insulted in my life. On Wednesday 6÷24÷15, I sat down to eat a specialty pizza that was purchased at Pizzeria Rustica less than an hour prior.(Our dear friend Nancy had eaten at this establishment prior to this visit and she was excited to introduce us to their delicious food.) As I opened the pizza box I saw a pizza surrounded by arugula lettuce. My grandson and I proceeded to eat the pizza with arugula and a few bites into the pizza(which hade a good taste) I felt an awkward CRtUNCH and spit the food out of my mouth. To my horror, I had just bitten into a huge green bug! Once I regrouped from this encounter, I called the restaurant to report the experience. The woman who answered the phone told me she would pass the matter onto the manager. I did not hear from the manager until Friday. His name was Dave and he did not once apologize for the experience. He claimed to be the owner. Dave was extremely confrontational and exceptionally rude commenting that«green bugs do not exist; he only knows of black and brown bugs» and«no one has given him any proof» etc. this man insulted me and my entire party who visited his restaurant on Wednesday afternoon. He insulted me by implying that I was lying because he knew that I had called on Thursday to complain. I told him that we had pictures of the experience and he told me to email them to him. He said that he would give me double the money back. This was Dave’s attempt at «fixing» the problem. When told that we were treated poorly by the waitress, he boldly replied WEDONOTHAVERUDESERVERSINOURESTABLISHMENT. What Dave’s rude behind lacks is humility and manners! He attacked me as if I had done wrong to him. In the hospitality industry, these things happen. I would have been fine with an apology and an acknowledgment that this was an unfortunate incident. Instead, he continues to rant and insist that we take down our Unilocal reviews(when he spoke to my daughter in law earlier today). My advice Dave, learn how to be humble. Your business’ reputation for good food means absolutely nothing without great customer service. You sir, have offended all of us and we will NEVER return to your establishment.

My new favorite pizza. See, I’m a recent thin-crust convert. And while i prefer a little more variety in my toppings, what they do have is awesomely fresh, often locally sourced, yummy, etc. Get the one with arugula on top, but add fennel sausage. A little truffle and chile oil, home run!
