Great instructors — they take the time to get you working on the full movements and correct muscle memory instead of stringing you along with a little guidance here and there. Good pricing for unlimited class time for several months and I believe there is a punch card if you can’t regularly make class. The location is just off powers so very easy to reach and the class times are evenings and Saturday morning which makes them very functional for after work stress relief. I’ve only been to two classes but I have 3 months of membership now so I plan on hitting up this place at least 3 times a week!

I started out looking for something I could do to get in shape without getting bored — I found it here! I was a chronic fitness quitter until I found Krav Maga, the teachers here do a great job of keeping classes fresh and challenging. If you decide to try it out the first class is free and it’s sure to get your blood pumping no matter what your current fitness level — the instructors stress that each individual should work to their own fitness level(good advice if you’re out of shape like I was). As for what’s taught, Krav Maga isn’t like your typical martial art… you will be hitting something in every class, there is a reasonable amount of physical contact(they go to great lengths to train safely, the only rule is ‘don’t get hurt’). There aren’t really any forms or Kata, just a set of guiding principles and straight forward combatives. i could probably go on for pages about how much I love Krav Maga, come to this place and give it a try. Oh, and they have some kids classes too, haven’t tried those.

In looking for a martial art to study, I tried a few, and all of them are awesome, but most are really slow to get to the practical use stuff. Then I found Peak Krav Maga. Peak Krav Maga trains locals in Krav Maga — an Israeli martial art. From the moment I started training, I began learning defenses I could use should I find myself in a situation where I need to defend myself. I went for my first class(back in June of 2009) and it was free(everyones first class is free!). I went to one more and then I was ready to commit to learning this style. They offer very competitive pricing and packages for 1, 2, 3 people, familys and more! They do have classes for kids and adults, and most of the offered classes are available during convenient times. The best thing is that the instructors encourage everyone to take each class at their own pace and always hang out to address questions students have after class. After many months of going 4 days per week, I feel I am in much better shape than when I started(I didn’t even make it through my very first class), I have tested to level 2 and am just about ready for level 3 testing, and I feel if I have to defend myself I would be able to do so in a smart and efficient manner. Oh, and I lost a good bit of weight! I highly recommend this if you are looking for a good way to get or stay fit, or if you are looking for a good self defense martial art.
