Kawa Coffee

Ok I really can’t say enough about this coffee shop. Amazing people who are running it. I found it on Unilocal while planning some places we wanted to go and I was not at all disappointed. My husband and I love coffee and my toffee nut latte was phenomenal, best I’ve ever had. He got a pour over and loved it. We also enjoyed a pastry which was good as well. The atmosphere was great, and I can’t say enough about the people! They were open to chatting with us about anything :) we loved the latte so much we got a second one to go! When we come back to Colorado we will be back!

I just moved to the springs and the first thing I did was look for coffee; I’m so glad I tried this place first! The staff is very friendly and they have good knowledge of their product which translates into excellent coffee and service. I’m lucky to have such a great (and adorable) shop within walking distance

I am not a coffee drinker, so this review is mainly about the space and service itself at Kawa. I come here frequently on Saturdays for a Spanish conversation group, and everyone here has always been extremely accommodating. Overall there is a welcoming feel to the inside, with multiple sized tables, chairs, couches, and different people playing games together, studying, or just having conversation. It seems like it would be a great place to catch up with a friend, where it’s not so quiet that you feel weird talking loudly, and not so loud where you can’t hear each other. I will be back for my conversation group, and always look forward to it!

I really appreciate that Kawa Coffee is a locally-​owned small business. They paid to have some of their employees to go all the way to Portland and Seattle in order to learn more about the art of coffee/​espresso-​making. There is a wonderful, friendly atmosphere and the people who own this shop seem genuinely to care which really comes across to the customer.
Highly recommend their drip coffee and Americanos. There is serious quality in their product and it shows.

One word, incredible. This is by far the best coffee shop in Colorado Springs (sorry Starbucks). All of the baristas are super nice, friendly, and helpful as. They help recommend drinks if you want and their recommendations are ALWAYS spot on. The environment is awesome, it’s got a really nice, chill hipster vibe and they have super fast internet. The coffee is definitely the best Ive ever had. TRY THIS PLACE!

Not sure on spelling here but Hydee and Amber were super great. Hydee told me all about the place and it’s great drunk choices and their flavors! Sweet sweet girl. It’s such a long drive from carson but it’s worth it. Open another one closer and I would go everyday. Great coffee and great food. Just limited on be menu but I’m sure it’s all good. Thanks Kawa coffee.

Needing a solid cup o’ joe while using wifi for work related activities, I scanned the Unilocal horizon for an appropriate establishment. 30+ reviews with a five star rating, Kawa piqued my interest.
The location is just off the proverbial «beaten path», occupying a unit on the backside of a strip mall. The air of seclusion this arrangement afforded fit the pleasantly comfy and low key décor.
I found the staff to be quite courteous and patient while I perused the menu and hemmed and hawed over my decision. Caramel Macchiato, a old fave, was my drink of choice and it was delicious. Strong without bitterness, free of any burnt taste and perfectly (ie mild-​to-​moderately) sweet, I was reminded why the CM was my go to drink for many years.
After a lengthy bit of work on the phone and computer (apologies to any and all fellow patrons I may have annoyed, I try not to phone indoors but this day it could not be helped) my stomach reminded me it was nearing lunch time. The Sam I Am, a breakfasty bagel sandwich proved to be well worth the asking price. I noshed, packed up and hit the road thoroughly pleased with my experience.
Kawa Coffee lived up to its rating this first go-​round. I’ll be back to sample more fare, I’m certain.

Exceptional coffee! I usually drink coffee with cream but their kawa blend is great black. Very chill atmosphere, board games and friendly baristas! Awesome selection of bagels too. And they roast some blends and get the rest locally.

If you’re coming for a good breakfast, come w/​a Big appetite! Their bagel sandwiches are very filling & tasty. I see why this place gets 5 stars.

Good coffee. Convenient location. Only complaint is they dont bring coffees to table.

I guess I would consider myself a ‘semi-​regular’ at this point :)
Today I just wanted a cup of good coffee, some good cake, and some peacefulness after my morning walk. Kawa seems to be that place more and more.
There is a very good reason, many I’m sure, why Kawa has such high ratings. Jus sayin’…

This local gem may be just off the beaten path, but the cozy environment environment, friendly baristas, and great coffee make it well worth the time.

Loved this coffee shop! The staff was incredibly friendly and when I asked what THEY recommended they told me some of some hidden Chai drinks that weren’t on the menu and were DELICIOUS.
Great atmosphere and I loved to see that they donate a lot of money to charity!
I would definitely recommend.

Such a great find! I had the Americano and it was perfect! The shop is hidden in a little breezeway in a shopping center but was not difficult to find. I loved the different sized tables and chairs and the great sofa/​seating area in the back of the room. I could definitely see myself sitting the afternoon away sipping my coffee and enjoying the atmosphere.

Kawa makes the best chai tea latte I have ever had!
While it may be in an odd location, the atmosphere inside is really nice and cozy. The staff is always welcoming and helpful.
This is one of the best coffee shops in Colorado Springs, hands down.

I had one of the bagel lunch sandwiches; the Hercules. It was hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend it.

Best Chai Tea Ever!
I loved it because it wasn’t too hot to drink right away and the flavor was authentic ingredients with bold aromas. It is local and delicious. Also, wonderful local artists hung on the walls. So cool.

I popped in here during a 2 hour wait at the DMV to see if they had any sandwiches and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a menu of savory and sweet bagel sandwiches, as well as salads and pastries. There was a big selection of gluten-​free pastries, and it looks like they’re all made in house.
I did not try their coffee, but they had a big menu and everything looked nice. They make their own syrups.
The shop itself is clean and cozy. Music isn’t too loud. Staff was very welcoming and service was great. They have dog-​friendly outdoor seating and even have free biscuits for them to munch on.
The veggies in my sandwich were crisp and fresh, and it was made when I ordered it. It came with a bag of chips, which they let you select from a basket of gluten– free and organic chips.
I will definitely come by again to try their coffee and pastries!

Fresh baked gluten free brownies.. homemade sweeteners for your coffee! Espresso is amazing!
