Love this place. They are so knowledgeable so helpful and friendly. They have a great variety of plants trees shrubs. definitely come here when you’re doing your yard.

To start off I am by no means a green thumb. So the decision to plant some things in my fairly empty backyard was a scary one. We actually live right by this place so we would stop. As other reviewers have noted you are instantly greeted by a very pleasant and knowledgeable staff who is willing to joke around with you and answer the dumbest of questions… I had some really good ones. By the time I left I was completely confident in planting and caring for the 2 bushes and 1 tree that I had purchased. Great place and great people. I highly recommend this tree farm.

We somehow were lucky enough to have a ‘glitch’ with our utility company’s «Arbor Day Foundation Program». As a result, CSU gave us a gift certificate to be used towards a tree at a local nursery. We were given a choice of 3 nurseries and Heidrich’s was the closest, so we decided to pay them a visit.
We were greeted immediately by several staff members (they were making sure we were being helped). A young tall/​slender blonde gal ended up taking us around the property to explain to us all the different styles-​sizes-​quality of their hard-​wood and flowering trees. She was VERY patient with us and VERY knowledgeable of all the tree shapes, blooming, sizes, and overall qualities. I wish I had caught her name :-(
They are definitely a local company. Kudos. About 80% of their trees are grown in Colorado. More Kudos. They are very attentive and offer nice and personable service. Even more kudos.
I truly enjoyed our hour spent perusing trees and choosing the best one to fit our need/​yard. I now CAN’T WAIT to have our tree planted in our yard. Counting the days. Minus 7! LOL

My experience with CTFN — Colorado Tree Farm Nursery is a great source of information as well as a nursery. The family owned environment lends itself to creating and educating customers so that the plants they do purchase will flourish in this harsh Colorado Environment. My wife and I moved from a location where you could throw a seed on the ground and it would grow. We learned our first year that this was not even close to the same growing environment. The folks at CTFN spent a great deal of time helping us learn which plants to plant where, when and how. They have even come to our home free of charge to help us with unusual Tree and Plant issues. We have bought plants from the big box stores and most have died or suffered. Most of the Trees and Plants at CTFN are from Colorado growers so they thrive in this environment, which means less work and stress for my wife and I because we don’t have to replace plants every spring. I cannot recommend a better place to purchase your plants and build your knowledge base for growing.
