3÷19÷16, 1700hrs, Saturday… Wow, what a complete turn around from our 1st order … our 1st order of a couple months ago was fantastic … Probably the best BBQ we’ve ever had … Brisket… chicken … Ribs … Moist, perfectly prepared … again, fantastic … Today, we pushed our plates away with uneaten food … we ordered basically the same thing, but in larger quantities to last the weekend … what a mistake … First off we didn’t get our whole order … really? … we spend a bit under a $ 100 bucks and we don’t get what we ordered? … that’s just crazy … what does it take to do a quick double-check before the order leaves the place? … All 3 entrees, 3lbs worth, were dry and tastelessness… The«fall off the bone» ribs were burnt charcoal black and tough … this Dickeys ‘signature entrée’ was awful… it was a hint of what was to come … The chicken was dry and chewy … no amount of ‘Dickeys Original BBQ sauce’ was going to fix this … Same with the Brisket … dry and chunky … we might be able to save this by by soaking it in the BBQ sauce and eating it in some hamburger buns … Dry, dry, dry … I would hate to think, that just because we got ‘take-out’ that we were given ‘B’ stock … I.e. it had been sitting around for a long while … if we had been served this while eating-in, I would have sent it back to the kitchen … Again, very disappointed, as we thought we had found a great BBQ spot … we will not be a return customer to this Dickeys location … eat-in or take-out … One last thought … not all was bad as we did get some Sweet Tea, which is pretty good … Carl …

Very diappointed at this so called BBQ business. At 6:30 pm they are out of ribs, and onion haystack, and who knows what ever. A manager was not even on duty, and that acting mgr(Katie) was not really concerned except laughed about it to the cashier, then goes to the back to the kitchen and hides. This is like a liquor store being out of beer. Will definitely go to Famous Dave’s from here on. This business will not survive very long. I expect to see a «For Lease» sign on the front of the business soon.

Ordered delivery, the picnic pack. Very little food for $ 37.00. It was supposed to come with dinner rolls and there were no rolls to be found.

If half stars were a choice I’d give it 3.5. First time there. Very hard to hear the old guy when asking about the size of sandwiches. He ended up giving me the small one instead of the big one and told me that was what I asked for. I said no I just wanted to see the size. Anyhow I took it with a coleslaw topper. Very skimpy on the coleslaw and it seemed not as creamy as I like. The bbq sauce you pick near the tea station. Very hard to see the words almost got the wrong kind. I did sign up online and got a coupon for a free drink. I got their sweet tea which is very good. Got my sandwich home and poured on the original sauce. Coleslaw what little there was kept falling out as it’s chopped in small chunks. I did like the taste of the pulled pork. Really not bad for fast food! Like someone said earlier it’s a step up from the McRib. I might go there again. I think their prices for chips $ 2.50 is too high. I went down the street to Kum and Go and got a bag for 99c. Like I said not bad for fast food. If I want a bbq meal I will head to Famous Dave’s. Sandwiches under 10 here and dinners are over 10

First of all, getting mad at Dickey’s for not being«real BBQ» is like getting mad at Taco Bell for not being real Mexican. It’s not in the same class as some mom and pop joint. Casting that remarkable reviewer aside, Dickey’s is an alright place. You can eat a decent meal at a decent price and compared to fast food BBQ like a McRib, it’s top notch in my book. They can be a bit slow, but if they’re hand chopping the meat off the slab as you order it, I’ll give them some slack. I’ll be back for some cheap n easy goodness. PS the«ice cream» is powdered dairy dessert substitute. I still eat the hell outta that too!

I was really disappointed with the food here. They call their ribs«fall off the bone» and that could not be more inaccurate. They were chewey and the meat to bone ratio was no bueno. The brisket was fatty and greasy, the chicken was moist but the flavor was weird. I can’t quite put my finger on what problem was. The 2nd star I gave was because the Mac and cheese and the Cole slaw were ok, but please for the love of God stay away from the jalapeño beans. It was truly one of the worst things I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and go to Bird dogs instead.

Great food came right when it opened. Brisket is on point! And the bread was so soft and chewy! I LOVE there onion rings. There customer service can use a smile or a friendly help(only reason why I didn’t rate a 5).

I really had high hopes for this place but it was quickly shot down after eating the food. The staff was cool and inside is clean but the food is not that good. To me this does not taste like true bar-b-que, probably won’t go back!

We have dined at Dickey’s franchises across the country including the original location in Dallas and the location on Garden of the Gods Road. This is definitely the least satisfying of all the locations we have visited. The food quality is way below the standard we have experienced in the past. My brisket wasn’t even sliced properly, I was served an end rib that was too hard to chew and the pulled pork had almost no flavor. Do yourself a favor and take the time to drive to the Garden of the Gods location!

If you like Dickey’s you hate BBQ. No smoke to think of; the meats all taste roasted with BBQ sauce poured over them. Sides are obviously canned/frozen and have no seasonings. This is a Texas chain, which sadly is a piss poor representation of quality Texas BBQ. Rudy’s is a much better choice, and is sadly the best BBQ in Colorado Springs. I wish I could recommend a local outfit, but they seem to all think pouring sauce on meat equals BBQ. As much as I hate Texas, I do miss two things: HEB and BBQ.

Never been to a Dickey’s, and unfortunately went on this store’s opening week on Friday. Waited 35 minutes before we sat down with our food. Even after ordering there was a long wait to pay, so the food got cold. Only one of the two registers was open, with plenty of staff, so that seemed stupid. The soda machine and ice cream machine were both broken, but that’s just a kink of their first week. Hopefully they get the wait problem fixed soon. But the food was quite good. Brisket sandwich was very tasty, especially with more of their spicy barbecue sauce. I like that you can get as much extra sauce as you want from the counter. The waffle fries were good(small portion though) and the green beans also were good– they supposedly contain bacon, but it only had one chunk of gross fat in it. The person with me had the ribs, and they didn’t look appealing to me, but they claimed they were good, but expensive– $ 12.95 for 5 of them and 2 sides, and they forgot the roll that was supposed to come with it. Not a big deal to me, but the restaurant has a picture of Reagan on the wall and the owner was telling customers that he’s his hero, etc. Might not be good business sense. As many people will not appreciate that as those who will, and he doesn’t know which is which. I would probably come back for the brisket, if there’s not a huge line again.

Great new location next to a neighborhood Walmart. Same great BBQ with free soft serve ice crème. Coke Products. I come most Tuesday’s for the rib plate special. This location has lots of seating and plenty of parking. I love the onion strings and fried Okra too.
