Daniel’s Taco Shop is a great, tucked in a stripmall right off the highway near Peterson’s North Gate. The food is typically very good, kind of a unique mexican cuisine a little different than the Colorado standard. Lunch time can be kind of a mess here. The military folks all come at the same time and Daniel’s Taco Shop has a hard time keeping up. But if you’re not in a hurry it’s worth the wait. The staff is friendly and the burritos wonn’t let yoiu down.

Great customer service and great food. They are always willing to adjust their food to fit my dietary restrictions. Always worth the trip.

The food there has no flavor. I ordered tacos, because it’s in the name, and they were the worst tacos I’ve ever eaten.

For a small time operation, this place is legit. Tacos served semi-open-faced, which is close to the real Mexican taco style. Chips and salsa served for starters, salsa is nothing to rave about, but all the food was very good and the service staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable and the location was very easy to access.

Delicious! This isn’t a five star restaurant but the quality of the food is fantastic for the price. Free salsa and chips when you dine in, too!

Not really worth paying money for… I make better at home. Majorly lacking in flavor… but the service is nice even if they don’t explain how their restaurant works very well… it’s lots of peoples first time here… it’s next to a military base it should be standard knowledge. half the stuff was self serve half wasn’t, a little confusing honestly but I can see how it works for the type lunch crowd they probably normally have. The salsa was really good though, their one redeeming quality lol… but… the chips were clearly old /cold so that makes the salsa pointless it cannot redeem yucky chips lol. I did go at a very odd hour. it was so quiet even though there were three other tables of people, it just felt awkward.

Good place to get some street tacos for cheap. Loved the horchata.

This place is great. We had breakfast burritos here while visiting from Texas. They were giant and covered with spicy green chili sauce that we loved. Service was friendly and place was very clean.

Best horchata in town for sure! Aside from that I can only speak on the breakfast burritos. I’ve been here a handful of times and have received inconsistent results when ordering the same burrito. The inconsistency is always with the potatoes in the bacon, egg, cheese, and potato burrito. Sometimes the potatoes are almost raw and others they are mashed. I’ve heard good things about the other dishes, but for me the horchata is what brings me back.

I have ordered take away from here multiple times. They do have the option to call in your order, although one time I was on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. The meals are delicious and the atmosphere is great. Just a few yards north of Peterson AFB makes for a quick lunch. I have always walked away happy.

I really like it here. I haven’t found a Mexican spot in COS that I love, like I do back in the south. But this place is pretty good to stop at. The portion sizes are good, you can easily share a burrito with someone for lunch. Their prices are great and very reasonable. The only think I don’t love here is the salsa they bring with your chips. I just don’t find it that good. It is not chunky, it’s just sauce. But I didn’t go for that. I go for the carna asada. Try the carna asada burrito with guacamole and smothered in green sauce. So yummy!

Only thing important about this place is that the food and prices are both great. Great spot for a quick(and filling) breakfast.

Just tried the Bacon, egg, potato and cheese burrito… it was sooo good. But I promise you these burritos should be for 2 people because they are huge. My hubby had the chirizo and egg one and he loved it. Being from San Antonio, he said this was the best he’d eaten. so that should say something about this place. I say try it out. you wont be disappointed. Loved it and we will be back!

Went to Daniel’s over the memorial day weekend and enjoyed my burritos. Simple good food. If you’re a food chain chaser you Will prob not like, but it’s worth checking out. I got a veggie burrito, which was tasty, could have used more kick. Added red sauce and it got a jumpstart. It’s not«the one!» But did the trick nicely and cheap. I’d return to try other menu items, because I love a good b-fast burrito!

Average mexican at an average price. The food can be tasty, but sometimes the meat borders on raunchy – too much grizzle and weird chewy parts. I was also dissapointed with the shredded beef burritos, as the had more fillers(think onions and peppers) than beef. The breakfast burrito is very good – probably the best damn thing on the menu. the salsa is a close second because it is spicy goes great on everything they serve. The service is perfectly adequate. As I said, Daniel’s slings up average mexican food, but due to convenience(working on Pete), I still make it in every other month.

Daniel’s takes me back to a street corner taco stand in Ensenada, BC, and that is a good thing. In my opinion, the thing to get on this lunch menu is the steak mini tacos, about a buck each. Grilled diced beef and pico de gallo on a double 4″ soft corn tortilla, and fresh limes. That’s it! The simplicity and purity almost brought a tear to my eye. The refrieds are good, but the rice is not. The self-serve sodas are Pepsi products, a negative for me, but they have bottled MEXICANCOKE! Redemption. It’s not a pretty place, in a run-down strip about 300 ft from the Peterson AFB gate. I wouldn’t plan to entertain here, but for a quick lunch, it’s the best taco I’ve had in the Springs. I would and will return.

I’ve never had a problem with Daniel’s Taco’s before today. My husband and I have been here a few times and while it’s not the best Mexican, it is really close to Peterson AFB. Long story short, my friend overheard the lady at the counter say something derogatory about me after seeing me walk up to the door(I was not yet inside). Apparently it was bad enough that he wouldn’t repeat it to me. I was completely baffled since I don’t know this lady and I haven’t been in this restaurant in 6 months. I learned about this after we left the restaurant. Up until then, I didn’t have any complaints. Needless to say, I will never go here again. And if the lady who said that is reading, I am filipino. Not chinese.

Daniels Tacos, no it’s not greasy(previous reviewer). I have been there a few times and it’s been a constant experience. They have a wide range of food options all true to the Mexican menu(I would know, I grew up with it). It’s a nice little place, clean and it’s a sole proprietor who owns it. To top it all off it has a liquor license! So at one time beer was here, bud sadly it is no longer available. Tacos and Beer! Now that is a combo meal you can’t miss out. but we will. Andale amigos check it out for yourself!

So Daniel’s is right outside the North Gate of Peterson… you could literally walk there from just about anywhere on base. Very convenient when faced with the limited options for lunch in a hurry. If I had been really, really drunk, or very hungover, Daniel’s would have been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Greasy, cheap, Mexican food that would absolutely hit that insatiable spot that seems to occur the morning after too many beers to count. Unfortunately, I was neither drunk nor hungover. I was in the middle of a day of work, and the food coma I entered after leaving Daniel’s was just not good. This stuff is HEAVY, and really incredibly greasy. But it’s wicked cheap, and it tastes good. Do with that what you will.
