Like I said in one of my previous reviews, I usually cant stand mexican food. But this place was a real good quality place. I forgot exactly what I ordered(I came here awhile back), but I do remember thinking to myself how this was one of the very few times Ive enjoyed myself at a mexican restaurant. The waiters are extremely friendly and just seem to enjoy their job. Also they have candy at the register for you to purchase, just a nice touch I thought I’d tell you about! So next time my wifey and I are craving some spicy mexican food we’ll for sure come here. Great place!

Came here with my c-course class mates. I love mexican food. Growing up in the bay area, there are tons of great places — taco trucks being one of them. I had high hopes for coming here, because I had some decent food. I wanted great mexican food. Good side. Service was good. He was attentive and very nice. They had very cheap drinks. That’s why I gave it a 2. Bad side. The salsa tastes like all it was from a bottle salsa. Not sure if it was fresh, because it sure didn’t taste fresh. The white sauce is basically ranch with a lot of sugar added. I will say they have really good beans and did not go skimpy. I ordered the steak quesadilla. It wasn’t too bad, but the steaks were a little burnt. So, it had little flavor. Rating: Food: 1 Service: 4 Ambience: 3 Price: 2 Overall: 2 2 because the drinks were cheap and good.

The food is SO good! Never had a problem with the service. The waiters are always so friendly and attentive. I would recommend to my friends without a doubt. Reasonably priced. I ALWAYS get the fried chicken chimichanga with beans. Always so good. I love the chips with white sauce and salsa!

I had vegetable bowl with black beans, my kids had Burrito and my husband had Vegetarian Burrito. It was delicious! Chips was crispy and salsa was nice kick to it & fresh. Grilled vegetable was great seasoned it made my vegetable bowl delicious. I couldn’t finish it all. I liked Spanish rice, pinto beans as well. I wish I can come here every week… But I was just came thru on road trip.

Sub-par all around. The service and the food left something to be desired. The restaurant was dimly lit and dusty. The server forgot my appetizer order all together. Avoid the tamales. I love Mexican food but not here.

Hands down the BEST Mexican food in the TriCities!!! It has become a family tradition to visit this place! Not only is the food awesome but the staff is super friendly and make you feel like apart of the family!

Food is good and nicely decorated. Service staff is fair. Wasn’t a fan of their salsa and I felt like it was too watered down. Good location and nice patio.

Ate here yesterday and was not impressed. Employees seemed nice, only say that because not once was I checked on. The manager or owner did come out to greet the table behind me and brought out their food for them. I ordered the lunch fajita and it came out pretty fast although they were skimpy on the meat. I like onions and bell peppers but they did get carried away with it(about 75% was peppers and onion). Flavor was there so that’s where they get my 3 stars from. The lack of service took the the other 2 stars away as I had to get up to look for my check. And I also don’t understand the whole ranch with my chips as I’m from Texas and have never seen that.

We eat here 3 – 4 times a month on average for the last 6 years or more, Awesome food the best customer service, the owner treats everyone like family. The white sauce is the bomb and the food always good,

I have been going to this restaurant for over a year. The last two times were absolutely disgusting. They must have changed their chef for the worse. Pork was sour, food has no flavor. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Stopped in the day of the«big blizzard»…please…, you folks make me laugh. Anyway — low expectations, but pleasantly surprised. Had a chicken bowl. Good amount of food for the $$ and very tasty. Colleague had the fajitas. Again looked good. Pretty affordable too. Would go back.

I’ve eaten here many times and my go to dish is the chille Verde with rice and beans. The service has always been good although on a few occasions had some issues but overall really good. It’s great for larger groups and the outdoor area is nice in the warmer months.

Our favorite Mex restaurant in Richmond area. Not expensive real. Good service. Nice people. Good food. One of our favorites is enchilada supreme. I can’t remeber name of dish but it was like fajitas with cheese sauce. Delicious. White sauce for corn chips taste like ranch but bettet

Be aware that food tax is HIGH in Colonial Heights. For two meals and two beers, it cost $ 31! However … Food was very good. I asked for a special order, which was happily provided for me. Service was quick and friendly. For the food, I would go back again but would only order water.

Lunch here was fresh and perfectly cooked. However, the service was very slow. Will return but will hope for an improvement in service.

Solid, Mexican food. I had the Fajitas, they were great. Service was excellent. The atmosphere needs a little work though and I also thought the prices were a tad too high.

Great service, awesome staff and friendly, caring owner. My favorite entrée is the Pollo Sammy, which is chicken with grilled veggies smothered in cheese sauce with beans and rice and tortillas.

I am giving three stars for the reason that the service was excellent. I went here today with high hopes because of the reviews on Unilocal. All I can say is DISAPPOINTED. The salsa tastes like all they did was open up a can of tomatoes, throw in a couple pieces of onion and cilantro. The white sauce is basically ranch with some sugar added. I will say they have really good beans and did not go skimpy. I should have only ordered beans because then I would not be so disappointed. My mushroom and spinach quesadilla was without flavor. My husband ordered chicken quesadillas and was also disappointed. The flavored just are not there. I view Taco Bell as slumming but would have had tastier food had I gone there.

Love the fajita taco salad, closest thing to the tostada salads we used to get at El Torero’s in Palmdale Ca. We have been in Va. Almost 10 years now and«good Mexican» is hard to find. It seems to be laden with sugar here as opposed to how the food is in the sourhwest. I have to say I’m in the minority when it comes to the white sauce. I don’t like it at all but, all my family, friends, and acquaintances all like it. So, what do I know?

It is Mexican restaurant you got to eat and not for the décor. Some of the seating booths are a bit tatered but again the food and service is why you go. What is with Virginia mexican restaurants serving that ranch dressing concoction with your chips? Thank god they serve the chips with both that mess and salsa.
