Love your cupcakes — even the gluten free is good! I got 2 dozen for my birthday party, 12 chocolate-chocolate and 12 of the churro flavor — and my friends are all now obsessed with the churro! They’re already asking for more! Thanks for making my party great!

I absolutely LOVE the wedding cake cupcakes but I always order mine without frosting and have finally realized that for a small, homemade size naked cupcake the cost is just too high. Like many reviewers, I often found the shop closed but I think their new location will alleviate that problem. I give this place two stars because the cupcakes are good and they do have some unique flavors.

LeSara just moved four doors down, inside Jumpstreet trampoline park. Their selection, according to some, may be limited but what makes it so great, is that you get to design your cupcake, YOURWAY! Even better are the Gluten free cupcakes. My daughter has celiac disease and these are hands down, her favorite.

I went to buy my wife a couple of cupcakes as nice surprise, but to my surprise the selection was very limited. I bought 2 random favors anyway since I was there. A young lady put two cupcakes in a box, squirted some icing on them and rang them up. Very labor intensive… Looking at the screen all I could see was a few boxes with various dollar amounts for tips starting at a dollar. There might have been a button to decline the tip, but I didn’t see it. As I was in shock, I just clicked $ 1.00. I think we need to reevaluate what service merits a tip. Having a jar by the checkout is one thing, but having to actually decline a tip option is a bit much. It’s not the dollar; it’s the expectation for so little service. Pretty soon fast food places will want tips for taking your order. Here is a tip for you. When it gets to the point where people expect a tip for doing a job they are already paid for, it’s time to buy a cupcake mix at the grocery store. The cupcakes… were very average.

LeSara Cupcake Bar has the best gluten free cakes and cupcakes I’ve ever tasted. I have Celiacs so I cannot have gluten. My husband and son get the regular cupcakes and say they are some of the best they’ve had as well. We just celebrated my 40th birthday with a gluten free chocolate cake from here that served about 20 people. EVERYONE said it was the best chocolate cake they’d ever had and NOONE knew it was gluten free-it was THAT good! If you are gf, or not, this is your place to go.

We are cupcakes junkies! We had LeSara at City slickers & they were wonderful. We tried to visit there store and they were closed. We tried a 2nd time and they were just locking the doors. Gratefully they let us get a cupcake. We got a chocolate with chocolate frosting and a key lime with citrus frosting. They were awful! They frosting was like a lump of goop and the cupcake was chewy & just plain nasty. I called the store the next day and explained the issue, they offered to replace our cupcakes and we went back. When we arrived there were 4 ladies just staring at us like we did something wrong. It was VERYUNCOMFORTABLE. We got new cupcakes and bolted out the door. These new ones were just as bad as the first one. I am sorry but give me back the ones I had at City slickers those were good. These are not good at all. I’m a huge supporter of mom& pop stores and shop local but this store is not one we will be returning too.

As a cupcake devourer, I love to try any place that sells cupcakes. The place is cute, but does not evoke a fun cupcake bar atmosphere. I felt rather uncomfortable walking in and have all the staff stare at me like I was interrupting something important. There were few flavors to choose from, and I don’t even remember the flavors I tried, they were not good enough to commit to memory. The frosting was the best part and even then I only enjoy the peanut butter frosting, the salted caramel was horrible. Suffice to say I will stick with my Celebrity or even Tom Thumb cupcakes over these ones.

I love the idea of this place. All the cupcakes are icing-less. So you pick a flavor of cupcake, then add a flavor of icing, and then toppings if you are so inclined. They have a gluten-free option everyday, along with GF cake tops and cake balls. Here’s the main reason you should go here: NUTELLABUTTERCREAMICING. I don’t care WHAT my flavor of GF cupcake is, I want nutella buttercream icing. nutella cupcake with nutella icing? done. vanilla cupcake, nutella icing? done. nutella icing with nutella icing? yes please! Cupcake size is comparable to Sprinkles or like… any other cupcake place on the planet.

Maybe this can be partly attributed to the gluten-free, Maybe I had this place confused with something else in the area, but regardless, when I came in, all I could think was«rather underwhelming.» The cupcakes were very small, looked like they could have been decorated by a child(sorry), very dry, and the frosting had way too much confectioner’s sugar in it. I couldn’t help thinking from the first taste how I could easily make better cupcakes even from a box mix, let alone scratch(and have).

This place is pretty good with a good arrangement of cupcake choices. However, I can hardly make it there before they close because they close when they sell out(normally around 3:30 — 4:00). Also I don’t really see paying high dollar for cupcakes when my friends mom makes some that taste better. That being said its not bad but it’s not great!

Unique Shop and concept! I have been to a ton of cupcake places all over the country. The idea is four flavors of cake and four flavors of icing. You pick a cake and an icing and then add toppings!!! They have a gluten free flavor all the time but I don’t think it is made in house cause it is frozen. I got strawberry with vanilla and my sister got vanilla with strawberry. No toppings. They were like kissing cousins. Real strawberry’s were used in both the cake and icing. Very reasonably priced and put in a cute take out box with a cupcake stamp on the top. Basic flavors so if you are looking for something new and exciting not sure this is the place, but a very neat idea.

Sprinkles Sprinkles Sprinkles. Ok people we get. Sprinkles it good. But let’s be honest, $ 6 for a cupcake? Sprinkles is good, but I don’t think it should be constantly compared to LeSara. It’s different. LeSara is much cheaper, and the you can chose your flavor first, and then what frosting and toppings you want, which puts a nice sense of control to it. But cutting to the chase, The Gluten Free Cupcake. HOLYYUMMMMM!!! Anyone who is unfortunately confined to a Gluten Free diet knows that gluten free baked goods are generally made from rice flour which gives it an awful texture. I don’t know what LeSara does, but I didn’t notice the difference between the gluten free and a real flour cupcake. I was BEYONDIMPRESSED. It’s my new gluten free diet dessert staple :] My only complaint is the atmosphere. They have a lot of aprons and etc for sale, but theres no where to sit. I had to go eat my cupcake in my car :/If there were

If you are going to go to Lesara, get the red velvet and chocolate cupcakes. Vanilla was kind of dry and the strawberry was a little overwhelming sweet. Overall, I would go to this place again if I was in desperate need of a cupcake and didn’t feel like driving to Dallas. I wish this place would have more variety and creativity in flavors for cupcakes and frosting.

Marisa F. is right on the money about the feeling I got when I stepped into this store. Here I’m expecting a store with cupcakes that I can’t find or never thought of making before. Plus, the term«bar» made me think that there would be a… well bar. You know, a place with stools, chairs, tables… things you typically use in a bar setting(Don’t let the attached photos fool you, there are no seats to be found while we were there. Hopefully they put them back someday.) And what do we find? A nearly empty cupcake display case(of course we were there late in the day) with naked cupcakes, and a guy who was slightly radiating his feelings about having to stay there any longer that day(It’s not my fault that the sign says 11AM to Sold Out). So what do you get for about $ 2.75 a cupcake? Your choice of the ordinary size cupcakes(from the flavors still available), and your choice of frosting. They give you a fancy white box, with a fancy promotional sticker and that’s it(toppings are extra). Then they send you out of the store(since there is no seats available) and expect you to find a seat somewhere else so you can eat your cupcake(don’t forget your napkins by the door, seriously?). I’m sure everyone gets the same idea at that point(go to Borders nearby) which is what we did. The whole time I’m thinking these better be the best cupcakes ever if I have to go someplace else to eat them. Well, they were not. About as ordinary as any cupcake I’ve ever had. Yes it was moist, but for that much money and effort I’m expecting to be a little more impressed then ordinary.(I couldn’t even recommend them to the people asking me at the next table without saying they were just«alright»). I really hope the owners are reading these posts, because they are really missing out on a chance to make themselves different and better then even Market Street(which probably has just as good cupcakes).

We went to LeSara because they have gluten-free cupcakes. The day we went, they had lemon as their gluten-free flavor.(They rotate their menu daily with different regular flavors and one gluten-free flavor.) My wife got the gluten-free lemon(she’s allergic to gluten) and I got the red velvet. I can say this much: I tried the lemon, and if I hadn’t been told it was gluten-free, I never would have known. Those of you familiar with gluten-free baked goods know that’s a really big deal. Most have the consistency of kitty litter. This was moist, rich, and tasty. As for mine, it was great, but one thing can be said about LeSara’s creations: the key is the frosting. Jenn’s lemon frosting and my cream cheese were both absolutely incredible. The cupcakes were good, but my red velvet was nothing extreme or extraordinary. It was just a solid, tasty red velvet cupcake. But the frosting, which equaled the cupcake in size and volume, was out of this world. If you’re gluten-free, you’re not going to do much better than LeSara. If you aren’t, you’ll certainly enjoy what you get. Especially the frosting.

The other reviewers all seemed to mention Sprinkles as the best cupcakes place around, but I don’t believe that. Sprinkles is alright, but not the best and while they sit the standard for marketing and name recognition, they aren’t in my top 5 for taste. Which brings me to another thing that all of the reviewers mentioned, the choices. I’m happy with chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, if you can’t get those right then you shouldn’t be in business. But nowadays everyone thinks that all cupcake places should have 20 flavors every day. Well unless your like Sprinkles who has people driving 60 miles(Yes I’ve done it) for a cupcake, then you can’t afford to make that many flavors every day. Now to my review of the place and not of the other reviewers. The concept is different and I don’t really like it that much. I’d like to come in and pick out a cupcake and eat it or take it with me instead of having to worry about building it. However that seems to be a trend in the food industry right now and so far it only works with burrito places for me. Their cake tasted fine, the problem was the same that others mentioned, to much icing. I prefer to have a small amount of icing with each big bite of cake and hate it when it is the other way around. If I was in the area I would stop in and have a cupcake, if I had some one with me I’d buy them one, but I wouldn’t drive across town again to buy another.

Personally I think LeSara got started because someone was like«Oh, Ms. Connie your cupcakes are so good you should open your own place!» and thus LeSara was born. The cupcakes aren’t bad but I’ve had Sprinkles so everything else pales in comparison. The owners were pretty nice and the décor is «cute.» The cupcakes are a little small and the icing is a little too plentiful. I’m not gonna rip LeSara because I really feel like they are a cool Mom & Pop type Establishment. It’s kinda hard to pit them against the corporate giant that is Sprinkles. Will I go back to LeSara, ehn maybe, would I drive to Dallas for Sprinkles instead. Definitely! Denard Diego

This place really doesn’t do it for me. As soon as I walked in I knew I wasn’t going to mesh well with LeSara. First off the display case is depressing. They carry a few naked cupcake flavors. I went on a Tuesday and they only had vanilla, red velvet, cinnamon, and glutton free. And I say naked because they didn’t have icing on them which brings me to the second point. They claim the cupcakes are«customizable» which means you choose from 4 icings and maybe 5 toppings. This whole process is beyond ridiculous and a big waste. As for the cupcakes themselves… meh. Nothing spectacular. Id compare them to homemade cupcakes and I expect above homemade when I leave my house and pay for them. Basically 1 star for being closer than sprinkles and 1 star for being 50cents cheaper.

LeSara Cupcake Bar is a nice concept and they have a good premier location with a lot of potential. The kids and I came in, each picked a cupcake($ 2.75) from our choices of Cinnamon, Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet, or Gluten-Free Chocolate, AND chose our frosting of Buttercream, Chocolate, Cream Cheese, and Strawberry. The kids both got toppings(additional .25 each), and I would have gladly indulged in a topping, except the selection of toppings were so few and plain. We paid and found seating in the cozy café. Our cupcakes tasted just«alright» but would have tasted better if there was less icing. It turns out that you HAVE to tell them to lay off the frosting. If not, the amount of frosting they put on is just way too sweet and overwhelming(the lady who came in after us ordered a cupcake and asked to have less icing since they always put too much). I went around to look for some forks to enjoy my cupcake with(to possibly spread out the frosting among the cupcake), and there was none to be found. After we ate half of our cupcake, the kids began to become really thirsty, and we noticed that they sold drinks there(ahh, THAT’S how they make more money). Soda 1.75, Bottled water 1.50, Coffee/Tea/Cocoa 1.75. Overall, I’m not sure if I’d be back because the cupcake, frosting, and toppings all seemed to be regular cupcakes that can be home-baked. If the cupcakes had some type of filling in them, or perhaps if LeSara had some pre-made deliciously decorated cupcakes laying around then I’d be able to enjoy it more. Also, their odd hours and days of the week might be hindering the business, so I hope they figure something out soon. They’re open from 11am-«until sold out», which seems pretty risky since they’re assuming that patrons will take the gamble to make the drive. A dessert place like this probably shouldn’t be closed on a Sunday for I would imagine that this place would do really well on a Sunday afternoon. The location has a lot of potential since it’s located next to a Borders Bookstore, and is also in the same center as an IMAX theatre and many restaurants. Also, the shop that was in LeSara’s space before was a Nestle Café. They came and went without anyone even missing it. Le Sara’s gotta kick it up a notch if they plan on thriving here.
