Took a private vertical fitness lesson with Jessica R. over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was so much fun and I learned so much! She’s an awesome, super positive, fun instructor who really knows how to break down skills. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in town! I can’t believe I had so much fun while getting a crazy good workout(so sore the next day)!

I have taken many yoga classes at Innovative and love the different class formats and postures. I especially like the Hot Hatha classes. The«power yoga» will kick your tail and make one able to bounce quarters off it… lol. Seriously, they offer classes that vary in intensity from ommmmmmmm to OMG! Also love that you can get a massage at the same facility. Many of the instructors have transformed their own lives and bodies through hard work and dedication so they serve as great advisors, mentors and inspiration. Also took a Zumba class once… I’m a dude and have no rythm… but I sweated and got a great workout with a huge smile on my face. The cool thing about innovative is you can try lots of different workouts from bootcamp to boxing to yoga to strength training and find out what works for you. They will even help you learn to grocery shop and develop a tasty and healthy diet to support your fitness goals. Trevor, the owner, makes the whole place have a fun, family atmosphere with fun social events too. Last year’s summer BBQ was great times!

The first part of my review is for Tanner, who was my boot camp instructor. While I later found out boot camp was just not my thing, Tanner was always very nice and helpful. He’s not the in your face super motivational type, but he has his own way that works. Since boot camp wasn’t my thing, I decided to try Zumba. I lost 20 lbs over the summer through IF’s Zumba classes, mainly with Deanna. I LOVED Deanna’s classes, and Kristi’s were good, too. Gen’s were a little slower tempo, but the music was good. I was happy. I went out of the country on vacation for two weeks in September, and when I came back there were some new instructors and Gen was gone. I tried two of the new girls’ classes, but my friend and I both felt like we needed to work out afterward(and did go running with our dogs) because it was just NOT a good class. They were slow, the music all sounded the same, and the experience was just totally different from Deanna’s classes. After a week of this, I tried Piranha Fitness Studio with a friend and LOVED it, not to mention it’s only $ 14.95/mo as opposed to IF’s $ 35/mo. So, since I’d only just renewed my membership at IF, I asked the front desk to have a manager call me so I could talk to them about the new instructors and getting my money back. Long story short, I get the run around big time and don’t get a call for over TWOWEEKS. In what business world is it acceptable to completely ignore a dissatisfied customer for that long? The front desk guy was always apologetic and assured me he’d passed my message along every time I asked, and I felt bad for him because he was obviously uncomfortable. Anyway, I –and 4 other girlfriends that formally went to IF for Zumba– am now at Piranha now because it’s so much cheaper and Piloxing is included with my monthly membership.
