Years at this apartment: 2010 — 2011 Pepper Tree is cheap in every sense of the word. You get what you pay for. It’s a great choice if you really need to save money, but after a year I decided to move to a nicer place. Pros: + Staff is friendly and helpful. + Maintenance resolved issues quickly and correctly. + It’s close to Wal-mart and highway 6. + Adequate credit = no deposit necessary. + 25% cheaper than comparable places. + On bus route 33. + I didn’t have insect problems. Cons: — The construction quality is low. — The paint job was terrible(all outlets painted over, kitchen cabinet paint dried while dripping) — Ceiling fans are low-quality and noisy — Doors might as well have been made from balsa wood — Faux wood siding was peeling off of the kitchen cabinets — Blinds are cheap and break often. — The area feels unsafe. — Intersection of 2818 and Longmire: numerous drug/DWI arrests, lots of suspicious people loitering. — At least 3 – 4 times I came home to police cars in front of my apt. No big deal. — One aggravated assault arrest occurred when I lived there — someone got stabbed with a pocketknife! — I once found a used marijuana joint in the washer and a lighter in the dryer. — I was once greeted at the door by a repo. man wanting to know if I knew anything about the owners of the car he was about to repo. — Longmire Dr. is a busy road. — The fitness center was«closed for renovations» at least 6 months. — A neighboring apartment building was«under construction» the entire time I was there. — Rent must be paid by money order. No cash, no check, no online payment. The gas station at Deacon & Longmire no longer sells money orders because of everyone wanting to get one for their rent.
