I expected this place to be a gourmet burger bar like Hopdoddy’s in Austin, but boy did it miss its mark. Grub also had cool wooden design features and crazy burgers. You order at the counter, but I felt gipped because the person who took my order pointed to the table I was supposed to sit at. All the tables have numbers hanging on them, so in an ideal reality they would give you a number and you can sit where youd like. Whenever I found my assigned table, I was downtrodden because it was a high chair/table combo. I am incredibly short so it was really uncomfortable! I asked someone if I could move and they said they would make sure that the other tables weren’t given away already. I moved to a half booth and chair. I love booths! Too bad this booth didnt have a back to it, because it was up against cold tile, featuring a wooden ledge slightly sticking out. My cheeseburger was hard to handle. By the time I got to the other half of the burger, the bun was soggy and falling apart in my hands. The fries were the best part of the meal because they were crunchy, thin, and salted well. All in all, I won’t be coming here again. They got a 2 instead of a 1 because of the design and the waitress was nice when I asked to change seats.

Excellent food! I’ve been here a few times with friends and the food is always excellent. They have a happy hour for drinks and although I’m not 21 I can still enjoy a half priced milkshake! The establishment is clean. The perfect college vibe

My favorite burger bar in college station. The burger there is awesome especially the one with pineapple and bell pepper in the middle. So moist and juicy. Really really delicious even though I am on a very healthy eating habit I still can’t help want to eat them!!!

Grub is simply one of a kind. Exceptional atmosphere, service and food! A true treasure in College Station. Ps. Try their milkshakes if you have any room in your appetite left-you won’t regret it!

It’s good but I think the hype is too large especially considering these prices. There are definitely better places but I do like that they had a chickpea burger for the vegetarians craving something burger-esque. The onion rings are really good though!

Hillary and Sarah are awesome behind the bar. Be good to your bartenders! Avoid the chili on the Savory Snacks menu. It is not good. Their burgers are awesome. Stick to those!

My husband and I came here on a weekday during lunch time and surprisingly, it was not packed at all. Basically you look over the menu provided in the front if there’s a line, order at the register and get your assigned seating. Simple enough. My husband ordered the VooDoo Mushroom burger and added an egg for an additional $ 1 and I decided to get the Guacapotle with onion rings. Our food came out fairly fast and after trying both of the burgers, I have to say that hands down, the Guacapotle was the better of the two. The guacamole was phenomenal. Definitely definitely recommend. The onion rings though, were super disappointing. They were extremely large in size and had a great crisp, but other than that, it was mainly batter and had no flavor. The VooDoo mushroom didn’t taste like a «gourmet burger» to me. Basically just an average burger with mushrooms. Also, we both got medium rare and only one came out cooked that way so a little disappointed with that as well. Overall, I wouldn’t rush to come back here but would probably come back eventually to try one of their milkshakes.

I would move to College Station just for Grub. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I had a basic burger, and am kicking myself that I did not add a fried egg. My daughter and I shared onion rings(excellent!), and my son had a milkshake that I wanted to steal from him. Our entire experience at Grub was great, and I find myself almost begging my daughter to go to A&M so that we have a reason to becone regulars!

Wonderful gourmet burgers A Tai peanut burger with a Hopadillo IPA was a perfect combination. The neat was well prepared and good without the topping. Very relaxing atmosphere and wonderful décor. The wait staff was friendly and service prompt. Not fancy but some excellent gourmet burgers and decent beer selection.

Grub burger opened while I was in school in College Station back in 2012 and it quickly became one of my favorite restaurants! Today, they proved to still have amazing food and milkshakes! I got the Mac n Cheese Burger and a Salted Caramel Milkshake. I honestly can’t picture burgers being much better than this. The bun is so soft and delicious. The owner originally brought in a 5-star chef to design his burgers(we met him and spoke to him a while ago) and also developed alcoholic milkshakes. They’re life changing. Make sure you request a side of their homemade Chipotle Ketchup! Really a unique and amazing condiment. The food, the environment, the milkshakes, the service, everything about this restaurant makes it an absolute must if you’re in College Station!

I love how this place is alway clean in the bathroom and out in the eating area. I ordered the Harlem chicken tenders and they taste very fresh, and the fries are great as well. I love taking my parents here when they visit, my dad is always a sucker for the milkshakes!

Great sides and shakes! 3.5* Very average burgers! 2* The sides really are awesome. The pulled pork fries are my favourite. My main issues with the burgers is that the meat is super bland, and you can’t order them medium rare. If you’re going to be a burger joint, you HAVE to have the best quality meat, that can be cooked medium rare. As a rule of thumb, if I order a burger and ask for it to be cooked medium rare, and I’m told that is not possible, that’s a sure sign that the meat isn’t great. The best burger parties are grass fed, flavourful, 85/15, and can be cooked medium rare. Whenever I think ‘I’m in the mood for a burger’ I never think to go to Grub. Whenever I want awesome sides and a good shake, I go to Grub. They need to up their beef patty game to be a true great burger joint!

I loved the atmosphere, my shake, my fries, and everything about my burger… but the meat. Why the hell you’d choose to cook the life out of meat, I don’t know. I asked for medium/medium rare and got super SUPER well done. And I mean SUPER. Why did I even make a request, right? F yo request! Were you trying to cook the plague out of the meat? Let’s talk about this, cause you ruined the fantasy. A fantasy that I was really looking forward to. Fancy toppings don’t mean shit if the meat is a hockey puck. You’re welcome.

I am still making up my mind about Grub. My burger was fine … large, juicy. It had pineapple and pulled pork and a bunch of sauces. I’m not sure the combo exactly goes together — and the sandwich fell apart sort of on arrival so I have no idea how the ingredients taste together. But I scarfed the burger down so it can’t have been all bad. * What I can’t get my head around was the milkshake. I got the shake called the«Kitchen Sink» which has potato chips, pretzels, peanut butter, caramel sauce, butterscotch sauce, chocolate chips, and coffee grounds. And salt. I forgot to mention the salt. It is an explicit ingredient, listed right on the menu. I suppose this was no surprise — but it was a very salty milkshake. And the coffee grounds made it a very grainy milkshake. There were a lot of them. The dominant taste besides salt and a generic sweetness from the various sauces … was the peanut butter. So it was in a lot of ways a salty peanut butter milkshake with grit in your straw. Which is not to say I didn’t like it. I had to think about this one while eating the potato chips that came IN the milkshake. It was sort of like having some kind of new and painful sex– that you never thought you would have had — and that you can’t imagine would be good — but you kind of like it — even though you hate it. But it certainly drew attention away from the burger — which might have gotten a better review if it had not been served under such distracting circumstances.

I love grub burger! I’m here with friends, and we all got a different type of burger. I got swimmin’ upstream, and someone else at my table got the chickpea burger. Both great, normal burger alternatives. We also got sweet potato fries, which are very sweet and savory waffle fries. I highly recommend them. The service here was great– Brent brought our food and he was very friendly! Also, on the ketchup bottle there is a code for a survey for a free shake. We asked to split it, and they brought multiple straws! Great service. We got the dirt and worms, but I’ve had the kitchen sink too, both are phenomenal. Don’t leave without one. There are salads here too, if someone in your group is looking to eat healthy. Kid and group friendly!

Wonderful atmosphere in here and great hangout. I decided on the Luau burger(86’d the jalapeños) cooked medium rare with a side of sweet potato fries. Tried onion rings from my sister’s burger. Starting off, the bun is really soft. I tasted more of the pulled pork than anything else. Couldn’t taste the pineapple slice(worked almost like floss) and the meat was okay. The sweet potato fries were such a disappointment. The onion rings had no flavor but had a great crisp. The sweet tea wasn’t the best either. I loved the Worms and Dirt shake! Overall, I would go back for the shakes only. Might try a different burger if I feel optimistic.

I got the Lockheart Legend. Legendary? No. They had a bunch of other burgers on the menu that still deserve a shot. The fries were great though. I may be back to try another burger.

For their usual burgers, they’re not bad at all! Grub is one of my favorite burger places in College Station. It has a chill atmosphere like what you’d expect for a typical burger joint. You walk in and order at the front and choose where you want to sit. If it’s not too busy, you can ask to change your seating and they’ll be happy to accommodate! The waiters/waitresses occasionally come by and ask how you’re doing and if you want a refill, or you can get up and refill your drink yourself if you don’t want to wait. My usual is the Texas Luau($ 7.95). It’s got braised pulled pork, a slice of grilled pineapple, grilled jalapeños, and teriyaki & bbq sauce on a beef patty. Awesome burger of theirs. I particularly like the slice of pineapple, it gives it some nice flavor. The burger gets messy cause of the sauce of course. I also usually get the sweet potato fries as a side($ 2.50). They’re usually a hit or miss. On some days the sweet potato fries from Grub are super crunchy and fresh, other days it’s all limpy, soggy, cold, and gross. Game of luck unfortunately. I recently tried their Ghost Burger($ 7.50) with a side of normal french fries($ 2). The Ghost comes with pepper jack cheese, ghost chili sauce, grilled jalapeños, lettuce, and tomatoes all on a beef patty. It was also good! I liked it. The beef wasn’t dry, it was juicy. This burger definitely gets spicy, but not too overwhelming. I love spicy food though so if you don’t then I wouldn’t recommend this burger. The normal fries were skinny and crunchy. Nothing special though. I’d rather stick with the game of sweet-potato-fries-lottery for Grub. If you win, at least you’ll get some delicious fries!

Great place to grab a burger with a bunch of friends. Definitely a great summer time spot Pros: + Amazing, unique burgers + Options that are more than just beef — try the salmon one if you don’t know what you want + Monthly market burgers + Delicious milkshakes — kitchen sink is my fav + Great vegetarian options too — the bean burger is definitely one of my go-tos. + Unique side-dishes — more than just your typic french fries, tabouleh, sweet potato fries Cons: — Crowded — Seating arrangement — you don’t get to pick where you sit
