I’ve been here a few times. The staff is very friendly and service has always been great! Recently they got a new menu which has some new additions. Love the steak and cheese. Would recommend as a great local UMD bar.

3 stars for the free popcorn and most delicious sweet potato fries. My parents, my kids, and I went to have dinner at Mulligans before a UMD basketball game. It wasn’t busy at all, but we called earlier to reserve a table anyway. I got the grilled chicken sandwich, but when it arrived there was no chicken– just a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles! I let the waitress know, so she took my plate back to the kitchen to retrieve the chicken that must have run off my plate. That was kind of funny though. The grilled chicken sandwich was just OK. The sweet potato fries were the best. I heard that the chili wasn’t very good, but my son liked his hot dog. The staff was very nice, but not very attentive. It took a while to receive our drinks, and a while to receive our check. I would go back if I don’t have somewhere to be shortly afterward.

I ate lunch at Mulligan’s. I ordered the rubbed chicken lunch with side salad and grilled vegetable medley. The chicken was two medium thickness breasts, firm but juicy, and a spice rub that complemented the chicken. The salad had julienned cucumber and carrot(a nice touch), and the veggies were grilled and(I believe) sauteed in some butter after grilling. While a bit limp, the zucchini tasted fresh. It’s a solid lunch menu order. My table ordered the salad bar(they enjoyed the salad and desert items), and the tilapia lunch appeared to be fried a little too golden brown, but no review here for taste). Mulligan’s can go in the regular rotation of restaurants in the College Park area. I’ve heard Happy Hours are good, so that’ll be my next visit.

I have not had the buffet so I cannot comment on that. I have eaten here twice. The first time I had buffalo wings which were quite good. The second time I also ordered wings and they were not crispy enough, so I asked for a second order and mentioned that I would like them more crispy, no luck, same as the first order. Some of my companions ordered a spinach veggie dip as a starter and that was way too salty even for me, and I would be happy with a salt lick. Then I ordered a main course, I asked for what was described as tenderloin stuffed with shiitake and artichoke. As usual I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, but was told that they only serve well done or medium well done! When the meal came I was served a flattened piece of steak which was roughly 5/8″ thick and hamburger patty size, and it was placed on top of a mildly rancid tasting creamy pile of mushrooms and canned artichokes. The«scalloped potatoes» which were the accompaniment were more like mashed potatoes with melted cheese on top. There was an additional side of sauteed vegetables which were edible but tasteless. I ate the meat but didn’t touch the mushrooms after the first bite. I may return to try the buffet as I have heard good things about it, but overall I am disappointed by this place.

I had a friend and $ 20. We were looking for a quick escape and something to get our blood thinning! We went here and stretched that 20 like it was made from rubberbands! For $ 20 we got all you can eat popcorn(because it is free), a gin and tonic, 2 dirty shirleys, 10 wings and tipped outrageously! And the wings weren’t shitty! This place it great! Anytime you want to «treat» a friend, you have to come here. You get great drinks and meet very interesting characters. I have had some of the funniest convos ever here! You are surrounded by people who pay overpriced dues there, people who graduated from UMD, or teachers who are trying to drown their sorrows. Everyone is friendly tho… The action is at the bar. There is free parking. They have route 1 prices. Lots of people watching. On a beautiful day, you can stand on the patio and bet on golfers at the18th hole.
