This place is awesome. We went on Wednesday when it $ 4(including skate rental) per person from 12−2pm. My children had a blast it was their first time ever(both under 10 years old.) You can also rent a kind of walker that helps you skate for $ 5. We will definitely be back as my children had a wonderful experience and can now skate without assistance.

The deals here for students are great, only $ 3 for a session and rentals. However the actual rink itself leaves much to be desired. The ice is incredibly poor quality and gets torn up faster than other rinks I’ve been to. The music choices could also be better as it often feels like I’m skating at a middle school dance party. The rentals are also pretty low quality and start to take a toll on your feet after only a couple of laps around the rink. Be sure to bring some extra cash since they sometimes sell hot chocolate, which is the perfect complement to your skating experience. Overall not a horrible place for the price, but could definitely find better rinks elsewhere.

Cheap ice skating that’s super-close to the college park metro and UMD. Open skate was pretty busy every time I’ve been, but I never had to wait in line to get in or to get skates. As the other reviewer said, it has a roof but it’s an open air rink. The wind is blocked by its enclosure but it will still be cold on the rink. Remember your gloves and hat.

its cheap and gives college discounts — ice is a bit soft(in terms of hockey) but its close and cheap. my only qualm was i left a pair of skates to get sharpened here. had surgey and 2 mos went by before i could get down there to pick them up… and they were missing. i was offered no compensation and just directed to the sign about after X amount of days we aren’t responsible for yadda yadda. i’d go to laural ice house before i go there again(CP is open air and Laural is a fulled shelled rink)
