Fabulous place for authentic NY style pizza… meat lovers and vegetarians will both be happy. Also… some of the best wings I’ve had in a long time… especially the garlic ones. Great place and they deliver in Colchester, too!

Whew… Where do I start? We called at approximately 5:30pm on a SUNDAY evening. I was put on hold for ~5 minutes(which is an eternity, borderline hang up and try again time in my book) before I could even place my order. Placed my order and was told it would be approximately 45 minutes. Really? Ok… We weren’t in a huge rush, it was still pretty early. 6:30 rolls around… No sign. We call the shop and was told that the delivery guy left 20 minutes ago and had a lot of deliveries to make. Really? So that means by the time we get our pizza, it would have been out of the oven for 20 – 30 minutes. Likely cold and rubbery. Arrggh… 7pm rolls around. Still no delivery guy. 7:20ish and I’m about to call for a refund and who shows up, but the delivery guy. He apologized and said he was the only driver. That’s cool, but dude… I ordered my pizza nearly TWO @$#%()*I#$ hours ago! He said it was his worst shift and gave his 2 weeks notice about a half hour ago. Which is about the same time he left to deliver our pizza. Unfortunately I had paid by card, or they wouldn’t have seen a cent of my money. Of course the pizza was cold, our kids were cranky, and we were tempted to drive the distance to take the pizza back and ask for a refund if we didn’t have small children that we needed to attend to. The pizza was terrible too. VERY dry. The cheese pizza had hardly any cheese on it. The meat on the meat pizza was also very dry and not enough sauce. The bread was rubbery and tasted just like bread. This was some of the worst pizza I’ve had, even if the delivery was timely. I would rather fire up the oven, then try and attempt this garbage again. I’m still tempted to call for a refund today. If they refund my money with a valid explanation, I will edit my review. Follow up– The owner has been in contact with me regarding our order and has apologized and claimed our experience was certainly not characteristic of their business and has offered a credit on our order, urging us to try them again. Since we would love to have NY Pizza as an option when we visit Mallett’s Bay at camp, we will definitely be willing to try them again. If they happen to redeem themselves, this review will definitely be revised. Kudos for following up. Much appreciated. Follow up #2– We decided to take advantage of our credit on Saturday(8⁄29). It turned out to be a good business decision because we ended up with a much larger order this time. We ordered the Hawaiian and a meat pizza, a couple salads, and some hot wings. We were notified of our credit(without having to ask about it) and was told about 45 minutes, which is still a bit long, but we had wings which take a bit longer and some large pizzas… We also ordered early enough so it wasn’t a big deal. This time, we opted to pick up the order. The food came hot this time. The wings were super hot. Spice was perfect at Medium. The pizzas were good. The Hawaiian was very well topped, as was the meat pizza. The pizza was not dry at all this time, perhaps because it was warm. The crust had a good crisp with decent chew. The salads were tasty and decent sized. Huge turnaround! The food was good, the staff seemed less frazzled(it didn’t seem busy when we went to pickup our order), but I don’t think we’ll chance delivery again. We’re glad that we were offered another opportunity to try NY Pizza Oven again, because I think we’ll probably order again instead of completely writing it off. Thank you.

Pepperoni by the slice two days ago was delicious! Like true NY style with the perfect amount of cheese and a tangy, flavorful sauce shining through. Unfortunately, pizza delivered tonight had way too much cheese and barely any sauce. Not cooked enough, either. Subs are decent but used to be much better a few years back. Seems like the bread is different now.

Have you been here? No? Because it’s so far from town. Okay. Is it worth the drive? Well, that’s a tough question. What’s your criterion? I’d put it in the same category as Leonardo’s, Mr. Mike’s, and Big Daddy’s, all of whom do very solid work. But. If – like us – you are in their delivery zone, they are a serious contender. Especially if Big Daddy’s website is down(which, alas, it sometimes is). Or, if you want something other than just pizza pizza pizza, which knocks out Leonardo’s. I’ve never lived in New York(City) or Long Island, apparently ground zero for«New York» pizza. So I’m just not gonna get into it about authenticity. In our experience, this place makes good, really good food. Their grinders, for us, are worth the drive. Classic. Their pizza is good. It’s very suburban strip-shopping-center-y. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. Long story short, if they are, for whatever reasons, a convenient option, I am confident you will be satisfied. I’d say something about it being work-a-day, but that does a grave disservice to the work-a-day grind of running a restaurant that serves high-quality, consistent food: it’s tough. It’s unrelenting. They are doing it. Well. They’ve earned our respect.

Another visit with friends. A HUGE salad for $ 5.95. I couldn’t finish it. Staff is super friendly and they always ask if you need anything and come clear the table for you. I feel good supporting these people. Hard working and they care to please the customer. The young people are some of the best you could ask for in this line of work.

New York Pizza Oven – W. Lakeshore Drive, Colchester Vermont Let me start off by saying that I lived in New Jersey for 61 years. So pizza is different in that area. So I have been to; Zachary’s Pizza, LaBoca, Junior’s, Three Brothers, Vermont Tap House, Leonardo’s, Folino’s Pizzeria, and Papa Frank’s. The Quattro Formagg was a great comeback from the last pizza that I received there. I never rate anyone a Five Star review for Pizza because there is always room for improvement. But I rate this a 3 and a half, thank you John Carp and keep up the good work. Much improved from the first time around.

We ordered for the first time from here, we just found out they deliver, which there is a limited selection of in Colchester. The food was good, the service was quick and friendly, and the price was reasonable(not cheap but not too expensive). The only negative thing was that we ordered cajun fries and got regular ones. We will absolutely being ordering again!

Hands down the best local spot for pizza. The crust is just the way I like it. Salads and sides are fresh, inexpensive and and generously portioned. I’m vegetarian and there are plenty of choices. Quick delivery, friendly staff. Look out for their specials on Facebook.

My wife and I ordered a couple of small pizzas from here. One margarita, and four cheese. They were tasty with a nice thin crust, which is our preference. The service was very friendly! And since it was our first time, the guy made us aware of their promotion. Conclusion: we were satisfied and will likely order again.

When it is ever-increasingly difficult to get a real slice of New York pizza in New York, the proprietors of this establishment have somehow brought Brooklyn to the Burlington area. Quality dough, tasty sauce, and delicious cheese add up to a heck of a slice!

I’m a really picky eater and I think this place is great. Their sandwiches and subs are great. Everything is really fresh– ten times better than a subway sandwich. The pizzas are a great size for the price you pay and great quality. And the best part is they deliver to my house and I live in winooski! I would recommend this place to anyone.

Brand new management as of a couple months ago and it’s a different place. They’ve improved the menu and the quality of the food significantly. More choices, better quality food, better prepared, and much better service. Loved it! Philly cheese pizza was great!

Good thin crust pizza. but, if this place closes at 9pm, the name of «New York» is a misnomer for the obvious reasons. Ha, somebody got the clue– congrats on your new hours!

Had a lot of differnt things here and it was all very good. You can always count on it being the same quality which is nice. Not too expensive but I wouldn’t call there prices a bargain either. Service is usually good. On weekends they can get very busy at times.

Pizza is OK but nothing special. Crust is right on par. Not a lot of sauce but I ordered the Works so I got all kinds of fresh toppings. The taste wasn’t out of this world great but made for a decent pizza. They have some booth indoor seating but I opted for take out which was on time and hot. Busy on a Friday night. They have parking(good for take out). I would say, if you’re desperately looking for pizza in the area, you can basically depend on NY Pizza Oven to make a «good enough» pie.
