We will not be going back here ever! The service here is absolutely ppor. We waited 5 + minutes to be seated anf they weren’t even busy. The hostess was just standing at the bar talking with the bartender. When I finally raised my voice and asked if we were going to be seated, she acted like a b*tch. Once we w we really seated, we again had to wait, this time for our server. My mom ordered a pepperoni pizza, that was very bland. I ordered a pasta bowl and my chicken was very overcooked and the dish was bland as well. My boyfriend has a cheeseburger, that was dripping I’m grease. He only ate less then half, because of this. For the price they charge, you think there would be better food. The only thing we like here was the setup and décor.

Hands down best place I’ve been to! You need to try their meatloaf, and don’t share!!! My husband try to make me split it and got the evil eye. It is AMAZING!!! Great service too and atmosphere.

Great environment for taking the family. Good choice of food for young eaters and reasonably priced. The food is 3-star but I gave it 4 as I appreciate places where my kids can all find something to eat and like the food.

We loved the food and drinks! My mother and i really enjoyed the meatloaf, it was one the best I’ve ever had. We also had a huckleberry lemon drop; also very good. The problem here is the service, which was kind and friendly but sloooooow. We didn’t get checked on near enough and had to ask after the flatwear and get up and find our server for dink refills

Came here for lunch and loved the décor– not the music so much. Menus looked good but just needed something light and quick so I got the soup and salad with breadstick special– AYCE for $ 7.75. I had the misfortune of being assigned to a waitress who was in the middle of waiting on a party of 11 women– all on business dresses needing to get back to work. Needless to say the service I got stunk! Not her fault but by the time she finished with their drink orders it was 20 minutes into my lunch and I had not placed my order. Should have taken care of a party of one before tackling a party of 11. The salad was good– although a little weird. Had apples and grape nuts on top of a plate of romaine– I really would have preferred tomatoes cucumbers olives onions croutons carrots. The tomato bisque was very good and it contained the croutons I would have preferred on my salad. The soup needed some grated cheddar cheese– but it was very satisfying. The bread stick was ok– an Olive Garden wanna be. I would recommend this place but not if in a hurry– service needs work.

Ate at MacKenzie river pizza last week. Food was excellent and the artichoke dip was amazing !!! My friend had the chili, I will be ordering that next time. Our waitress was Jamie, she was so kind and sweet and never ignored our table like some waitresses do. She explained the menu when we had questions and delivered our cold beer right away. I will be bring back all my friends

2.5 if I’m being nice. Building looks great, nice interior. Food and service is where it goes down hill. The second hostess we talked to was a smart problem solver and got us seated right away. The waitress started off ok but then went down hill, got slower and left us without silverware and our drinks empty. The food is a solid 2 stars for sure and I was here to eat so big bummer there. My pasta bowl had at least 6 table spoons of oil in the bottom, the chicken and sausage were both over cooked as were the veggies. The bread stick is a lame attempt at competing with Olive Garden. My wife’s dinner salad was topped with grape nut cereal… weird how about a good croûton. Our pulled pork nacho appetizer was a little cold with to many chips and the brownest guacamole I’ve seen in a while. Update — the manager responded the next day to apologize. I like businesses that care about guests.

Great beers, good food every time. The service is REALLY hit and miss. So many times the young girls on staff are hanging out with friends at the bar or in a corner doing nothing while we sit and stare waiting for a «hello.» If the can fix the service problem… A great place.

the service here is really poor. Our waiter visited with most of the patrons in the restaurant except us. He was friendly, but inattentive. There were maybe 10 busy tables in the whole place but it still took 45 minutes to get the pizza. When you are sitting with four little hungry children that is a long wait. positives: gluten free crust and soy cheese for the allergic folks in our group.

The pizza here was very flavorful, with some very tasty herbs and spices. Crust was a little doughy, but overall a very positive experience.

First, positives: the waitress in the bar who got us our takeout was incredible and helpful, and the food was good. Unfortunately, when we arrived the restaurant was very busy. Instead of waiting in the crowded lobby with a fifteen month old, we requested to sit in the bar while we waited for takeout. This in itself seemed to be an issue because we got several stink eyes as we settled into our temporary spot. We noticed, as we were waiting, that there were at least six open tables, which was a little odd, given the 20 minute wait time. Maybe this was due to a lack of staff or poor management; it’s hard to say. Eventually the manager came out and gave us the stankiest stink eye I have ever seen. I can only attribute this to the fact that we were in the bar with a child, but again: we were given permission to do so while we waited for our food. We felt unwelcome and bitter when we left because this has never been our experience at other Mackenzie River branches.

Atmosphere was fun, and I wanted to love this place, but food was only okay, and slow. The server seemed to put all her attention to tables with her friends in them. Our glasses were empty. We seemed to be a bother when we asked for silverware. In my defense we are a low maintenance type family, but not totally ignorable. Maybe a different server/different day would make all the difference, but as it stands I don’t see myself going back.

Having served in the restaurant industry for more than 15 years I can tell you 5 stars are well placed on this establishment. Let me explain something to the overly critical folks who left less than 4 stars below. Since this restaurant is open… and has an open kitchen you can expect a few thinhs. It will get noisier than coporaration stores that hide their kitchen and guest from eachother… so realize you are eating in public and don’t bitch about the noise. Second the food is fresh! That’s an amazing thing that happens in too few restaurant establishments. Try the pasta… or pizza as they probably made the dough that day. Don’t cry about a burger that has to be cooked well because it’s fresh meat… The poison would have been worse Ryan W. Next time order a steak like a real man… without crosscut frys. Lastly, I was in two nights in a row. I sat at the bar both nights. Promptly greeted with smiles from cute young hostesses and the smell of open air cooking over flame. I sta at the bar and was introduced to new beers. The gentleman that served us was just that and totally appropriate as a weekday bar keep… prim and proper really. The following night was a weekend where I sat in the same seat watching football and chopped it up with a rams fan bar keep. Giod conversations and amazing food. As an ex employee/server at some huge corporate giant restaurants in big cities where perfection is forced and unenjoyed in the red lobs, fridays, and appledees. I can say that this place is exceeding it’s duty to a small town, with a non corporate attitude, great food, and smiling staff. As a small business owner… I know that people, place, and product create perfection. You guys are nailing it thank you for the great experience. Kevin Meadors Able Movers. Hillsboro OR

We had the most charming and efficient waitress. Everyone enjoyed their food. The children were very satisfied with their meals and activities. The adults had a variety of things, from quesadillas, wraps and a couple of different kinds of pizzas. All meals were prepared and served beautifully. The portion sizes were perfect as there was not a crumb left. Oh, and they tasted good too! If you are ever there, ask for Reilly for top notch service.

We went to MacKenzie River Pizza in CDA for our anniversary, it also happened to be Father’s day so we expected to have a little wait when we arrived, but to our surprise we arrived and were immediately greeted and shown to our table. Inside we were expecting a bigger looking restaurant but the layout may be slightly deceiving as upon further inspection there were quite a few more tables than we initially thought. We were shown our table and told our server would be Jay and he would be right with us. It wasn’t 45 seconds later that Jay stopped by and introduced himself asking us the appropriate questions and offering knowledgeable feedback about menu items and even restaurant history. The wait time for our appetizer and drinks were average. Jay, our waiter, refilled each of our drinks every time they were about half empty so we really appreciated the attentiveness. We ordered a large thin crust pizza to split and were a little let down that the pizza didn’t have the taste or crispiness we were expecting. Next time we will order a different pizza on a regular crust and see if those are better. A thin crust, in our experience, is supposed to be crispy and able to support a slice of pizza while crunching somewhat like a cracker when bitten into. The crust on our pizza was somewhat moist still so it wouldn’t always support a typical slice of pizza before it bent over dropped the toppings on a plate. I hope the next pizza, or other dish, we have will live up to the reputation. The service from the time we entered the door until the time we left was great and that service is a large reason we will return again and give the food another try.

From the start, I am knocking a star off because the music is too loud and is teenie bop pop that has no place in this décor. I can go to Red Robin for this annoying loud music. I am taking another star because the crust tastes like biscuit dough. The staff is really friendly and efficient. The pizza variety is really cool and unique, and tasted pretty good despite the crust. And the prices are pretty fair. Better than Round Table and other chains, but they have room for improvement.
