Their lox bagel was amazing, their ice coffee was amazing, and their bagels I took home were fantastic! Super great service.

Billy, the owner is always very friendly and personable. The food is great and they’ll make just about whatever you want.

Sometimes I go shopping at places around Barry’s purposefully so I have an excuse to go here on the way home. When I think that I want a bagel, I think I want to get one from here.
I’ve never left this place unsatisfied. Their bagels are just what you want from a good tri-​state area place. Their sandwiches are generous but not over-​full. The staff has always been friendly.
I’d give Barry’s 5 stars if the dining area was a little less spartan. It’s essentially what you’d expect from a bagel/​sandwich place: basic tables, steely chairs, a few too few seats, and Fox News pumping from the TV. It could be more relaxing. But this doesn’t matter if you get your food to go. And the food’s good enough that it doesn’t terribly matter in general.

Good bagels most of the time. Every now and then I get a burnt or over cooked bagel. Many times they are warm if you go before 12.
Customer service is pretty good too. They are pretty nice here.

Best bagels I’ve had in the area. Parking can get crowded, as can the counter but you can text your order in ahead of time. I stop by on the weekends while out with my daughter. Love the bagel, egg, cheese and taylor ham sandwiches.

OK I think its time to unravel my thoughts about this bagel stop. I have been here quite a few times for both lunch and breakfast sandwiches. Never wanted to comment before because I have had my reservations not about the food but the worker who handles the grill.
So I will say without a single doubt that I have NEVER been disappointed about the food they produce. They are equipped with today’s latest technology. About 4 huge screen TVs displayed over the order counter with everything they offer. Pretty cool I will say and they even have a number to text (973−216−1545) your food ahead so that you can save time upon visiting their establishment against a wait behind other customers. Or simply because all you can think of is getting that food in your mouth that much quicker.
Now where my reservations come into play. It seems the guy behind the good food just doesn’t seem to find it in his soul to ever smile. never says thank you for visiting his establishment, after all we are supporting our locals stores. He has even placed my food on the counter without packing it up in a bag even after saying it was to go and simply walked away without anything else to say, no eye contact almost as if please hurry up and leave. Now maybe its me, after all I am a pretty big guy and he might not like my demeanor which by the way «I SMILE» and say Thank You when served so If I had to bet I would say he’s simply this way all the time.
Hopefully one day he will realize how important its is to show a tad of appreciation for the patrons that put money in his pocket daily with a smile and maybe some thank you. Until then I will continue to stop and get the food they produce that places a smile on my face and tummy but I will do so with an open mind that just maybe he has something else going on… So Unilocalers if you have an open mind or blinders you can put on as you walk in this place I will encourage you to stop in and enjoy their good food…

Great for a quick breakfast spot. Could use a little more space for extra seating area. Haven’t gotten a chance to try their famous French toast bagel (we always get there too late lol) but dying to try it! It has definitely become my go to bagel place in the area!

Loved this spot. I originally came here for their popular french toast bagel but they were all out. Granted I got there pretty late (12:30pm). I decided to go with a blueberry bagel. Place is clean. Staff is friendly and efficient. The macaroni salad was very good also.

Barry’s Bagel & Deli offers the best food and service I have every had. There are two bagel joints closer to my house in Bloomfield, but I don’t mind traveling farther for Barry’s delicious, locally smoked lox and their amazing customer service.
The owner is a true gem. He is kind, generous and always makes a point to ask how my family is doing. His deli is abuzz with quick and friendly cooks making everything to order exactly how I like it. He also runs a clean deli and has created a warm and friendly atmosphere.
My favorite breakfast sandwich is a whole wheat bagel with fresh lox, cream cheese, tomatoes and hot peppers. As a regular customer, I feel well taken care of, especially since he began carrying certain ingredients (like capers) after I requested them a couple of times. Every bagel or sandwich I’ve had has been amazing.
This is the only bagel place I will spend my money, and I go back weekly.

First time here, got lunch to go. They have good seating inside if you want to eat in. Everything was organized in the Deli. Most of the ‘salad’ items are homemade e.g. Tuna, Chicken, Macaroni, etc. Huge meat portions, and good prices. All in all would come again

Ate there for breakfast. Got a bagel sandwich with Taylor ham, egg, and cheese. My mouth was in heaven. The bagel was fresh out of the oven, perfectly fluffy with just the right texture. Einstein Bagels just can’t compare.
The employees are all super friendly. Head there for a pleasant atmosphere.
Highly recommend!

Best bagels hands down in Clifton! A wide selection of drinks to choose from.
The cooks deserve some shine cause they are on hyperspeed all day. Breakfast comes consistently perfect. Love the thin slices of Taylor ham. Way better than thicker slices. There’s indoor seating and a tv for customers. Nice view from outside when the suns out.
I’m not too fond of the pastry or the coffee. There’s honestly better coffee up the street at central coffee and better pastry at the allwood bakery. But I don’t really tend to buy those things here. Bagels are amazing and that’s what I’m basing most of the review on.
Oh and the owner is very friendly with the customers. And if you sees often, he’ll remember you. And be ready for the handshake. It’s his signature meet and greet haha

Barry’s Bagel & Deli was amazing! Not only are the staff friendly and helpful, but the food is out of this world! They freshly bake all of their bagels every day by hand and their sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients!
I highly recommend going here!

Always delicious and fast service never a complaint. One time i waited a little more than 5 minutes and they gave me a free pastry because i had to wait a little longer than usual. Very friendly always happy and a very welcoming place

Great little bagel shop! It’s on the corner of market street so it’s a little confusing to find but they have their own parking lot which was great!
They have the basic bagel selections that most bagel shops have and same with the cream cheeses. I got my usual, a sundried tomato bagel but with scallion cream cheese instead of olive and toasted of course.
The scallion cream cheese was perfect and didn’t overpower the flavor of the sundried tomato. I think I found my new fave combo. The bagel was soft and easy to chew. They put the perfect amount of cream cheese and didn’t load it on like other places do. I liked how the guy asked us if we wanted more cream cheese. My friend got an everything bagel with olive cream cheese and he put on more as per her request. The olive cream cheese was delicious as well!
They get 5 stars for great bagels and great service. Next time I wanna try their scallion and bacon cream cheese. Yum!

My fiancé and I go here every weekend. The French toast bagels are delicious! We also really like the sandwiches (the merryl lynch is a favorite). They also have good side salads.
It’s family run and the service is great! They take the time to get to know you by name and always try to make sure you’re completely satisfied ! That means a lot these days!
