Since this is the closest Chinese place near me I go to it when I’m not already in the city. When I’m in the city I go to East Wok, which is by Hannaford. Fortune Cookie is located in the shopping center right off of Exit 8. They don’t deliver but you can order something by phone and grab it later but be prepared because sometimes if your meal is under $ 7 they won’t use your card. Sometimes they do but charge $ 1+. The food is decent but I highly recommend swapping the fried rice for white rice when getting a combination player. The fried rice is not good by any means. It’s really hit or miss depending on the day but it is very affordable and they are friendly. Overall, I would recommend!

Apparently good Chinese food is hard to find in the Clifton Park area. This is the first and last time I order from this restaurant. I ordered a boneless spare ribs combination platter and a General Tsos combination platter. The spare ribs were dry and overcooked. The fried rice was bland with no taste and and only couple of small pieces of pork and onions. The one good thing I can say is they use white rice where other restaurants use yellow rice. The egg rolls were disgusting! I don’t know how old they were but they certainly were not fresh! Don’t wouldn’t waste your money. I don’t know where the previous reviewer said there were two good Chinese food restaurants in the area, but this ISNOT one of them.

Used to be regulars but not anymore as of today. My boyfriend and I would get the same thing every time– today we brought a friend and the woman at the counter literally ignored him! He even made a few obvious statements about liking to place an order! We were handed our food and demanded a price. We felt very unwelcome. Never returning again, ridiculous.

Fortune Cookie is similar to the standard strip mall Chinese take-out joint, but it’s easily the nicest one that I’ve ever been to. The staff is friendly and I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for an order. I haven’t had a lot of variety there, but what I have had has been very good. This is the fourth chinese place of tried in the area and its a step above the rest. Definitely the best dumplings in Clifton Park!

Love this little hole in the wall place. Order from here at least 4 – 5 times a month. The staff is polite and prompt. Have ordered a lot of the menu, and nothing has let us down. Would give it five stars if they had a better dinning area, but hey I go for the awesome food to take home.

Not worth the stop. The woman at the counter was unfriendly. They charge extra to downgrade on the lunch menu. Why do you charge more for the eggroll, which costs less than the included soup? Then, they charged more than the menu price. When questioned, I received the«I don’t speak English» look. A couple of dollars for a few lunches could be overlooked, if the food was decent. The food was«OK» at best. I won’t be back, and don’t recommend it for you either.

Fortune Cookie is one of two decent Chinese Take-Out Restaurants I’ll go to in Clifton Park. They are located directly off of Exit 8 in the Shopping Plaza with CVS, Pancho’s and Pam’s Pub on the left hand side. While they don’t deliver, the food is your typical Chinese-American fare with Dinner/Lunch Specials on the back of their Menu. It’s family owned(of course) and every time I have gone there, they have been nothing but pleasant, which is more than I can say for Fortune Wok. The food is decently priced if you consider what other Chinese take-out restaurants charge in the area and the small, dive-y space is clean and immaculate. They speak English pretty well and the wait time for food is between 10 – 12 minutes. If you live local and don’t mind driving to pick up your food, I recommend Fortune Cookie over any of the other Chinese Take-Out’s in the Clifton Park area.

Located in the Plaza 8 shopping center behind CVS, just west of the Northway(I-87 Exit 8). I’ve stopped in here a few times for lunch and dinner takeout. Fortune Cookies is your typical strip plaza Chinese takeout place with order counter and open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. Fortune Cookies Restaurant serves up the standard Chinese fare including Cantonese, Hunan, and Szechuan dishes at reasonable prices, most items/dishes priced under $ 11. 33 Luncheon Specials($ 4.80-$ 5.55/served Mon-Sat 11AM-3PM) with pork fried rice & choice of soup or can of soda and 28 Special Combination Platters($ 6.45-$ 7.35) with pork fried rice & egg roll are offered. I’ve ordered the L25 Chicken Lo Mein Luncheon Special($ 4.85 plus tax) and the C28 Shrimp Lo Mein Combination($ 7.35). The lo mein here is decent, the noodles are cooked firm with a good amount of meat(soft) and vegetables(carrot, cabbage, onion, sprouts), The fried rice here is good which has a mix of peas, carrots, onions, and tender pork. The egg roll is pretty standard, filled with a mix of cabbge & pork. The hot & sour soup has a good spicy kick and flavors and there are water chestnuts in the soup for crunch. The service here is prompt and I’ve received my food in under 10 minutes after ordering.

Okay. Just okay. Handled the order for 10-people without a problem. Had the orders prepared correctly and no surprises when the little white boxes were opened. The food itself was fair. Typical take-out fare. Orange chicken did have real orange peels, that’s a plus. The only problem was that the chicken was indistinguishable from the breading that surrounded it. Moo Shu Chicken was a bit darker than normal, but about half of it disappeared. That’s a pretty good sign. Steamed chicken and vegetables — well can’t really screw that one up. Chicken lo mein went largely untouched, sweet and sour chicken was devoured, egg rolls and shrimp rolls were pedestrian. Great price point, but if you are going to go for the orange chicken be sure to order the chicken steamed and then sauced.

Fortune Cookie is easily the best Chinese food in Clifton Park. I eat there once or twice a month, and in the ten or so years it’s been open, I’ve had an underwhelming meal once. Everything else has been great. My dish of choice is the General Tso’s chicken. It has a nice balance between spicy, which is strong but not overpowering, and sweet, which adds a nice contrast to the spice. Other good items that I frequently order include house special fried rice, wonton soup, steamed dumplings, and the house special mei fun. The prices do seem to be a little higher than most, but the quality more than makes up for the cost. I’m not sure about the drive from anywhere of exit 9 or north but if you live off exit 8 or 8A, it’s your best bet for Chinese food.
