If there was a 0 option if give it! Paid $ 20 for lunch, ordered cheeseburgers and got no cheese, soggy buns and fries, cold patties, and they failed to mention that unless you ask, they give you nothing on the burger! This place is a joke…

This is the PERFECT yummy/greasy/bad for you roadside drive-in. Everything is yummy. hey do have healthier choices, including a mahi mahi sandwich. They can customize your order. The onion rings are hand made and PERFECT. If you like the flavor combo of orange & vanilla, then their Orange Blossom shakes are seriously the best thing ever… Clean place to eat with a nice roofed eating area with roll down rain/wind protection in case it gets blustery. Plenty of seating outdoors under the umbrellas. Most local drive ins rely on reputation to get people in… unlike those places, here the food is actually TASTY. Worth a drive out to this place, every time. I have yet to eat anything here that wasn’t very good. They also have ice cream which is delicious as well.

Only really worth going to if your car breaks down in front of it. The food really isn’t anything special, this place just seems to have a nostalgic appeal to most people in the area that I really have never understood. Just take a look at the simple bland-looking burgers and you’ll see what I mean, the quality just isn’t there. The best word to explain it is ‘basic,’ there are no frills, few toppings, and nothing really setting their food apart from other fast food places. Everything tastes so-so, and the same goes for the ice cream. It’s certainly not worth returning to, as any real restaurant in the area is 100x better, and Guptill’s ice cream is 100x better.

please bring back the weekly yogurt flavors. That was the reason I went to Country Drive In. Dole Whip is not the same and does not have the flavors such as cappucino, strawberry cheesecake, lemon, etc.

I’ve been a customer of Country Drive-In for fifteen years. Now, you might ask why would I rate this establishment with only two stars, yet keep on returning. Fair question. It’s because for the first 13 of those years, I rated this place with five stars. What happened? The owners of this place have made great money for years, but have grown complacent. Corners are cut on portions and quality, and they aren’t on top of the teenagers that run this place Country Drive-in’s service has gone down hill, with wait times increasing. I’ve had three milk shakes this season that were so watery that they could hardly be characterized as a shake. I am also not a fan of the new meat sauce on the hotdogs and Michigan fries. I am also not a fan of seeing the prices rise every year. The main reason that you should try Country Drive-in is the Onion Rings. They have the best onion rings in this area and right now are the only thing making me return.

I finally made it to Country Drive-In at the urging of Josh K., who says it has the best onion rings he’s ever had. They’re certainly very very good, big strands of natural onion that maintain their identity within tasty but not over-greasy breading. Happy discovery: a squirt of Pete’s Red-Hot sauce for dipping on the side of the basket is a great add-in. Country Drive-In is serious about their food, as evidenced by the warning sign in the window that if you want to have a ½ pound burger you should say so at the beginning of your order so they can get it cooking. We settled for the 1⁄3 pounders that arrived with our requested combinations of condiments, fetchingly presented under a sheet of wax paper like a shy bride with a veil. Also tried the mini-dogs with the works which were a workmanlike example of that genre. Chicken Spiedies and fried pickles called our name, but we have to save something for next time. I had thought of Country Drive-In as being tucked away in the winding country roads of Clifton Park, but it’s actually a quick 3 minutes off the Northway, at the exit where I get my gas. I kick myself for not having found and tried it sooner.

Food– It had been a long time since I had food here and I was disappointed. Between awful and ok. Terrible cheeseburger, zero flavor, ordered medium was past well. Ok chix sandwich, nothing special but way better than the burger. Forgot the ordered sauce on both. Ice cream– soft serve very good with rotating special flavors like red raspberry, etc as previously noted.

the food you think ok it is supposed to be good. It is gross. cooked in grease, My son’s burger was dripping. Fries were fine. Chicken fingers were fine. I got the Lobster roll. First it was a tuna roll with some lobster in it. Some. mostly tuna, that is what you tasted. They forgot my son’s fries but they are so… slow… he said forget it. And the prices are not cheap. almost $ 40 for us to have lunch. 2 chicken tenders and fries, one grease burger and one lobster roll. 2 sodas, and one water. Note to self… Never, ever. buy food there. Unless you want to clog your veins and empty your wallet.

Every time I drive by Country Drive-In it is mobbed with people. I understand completely because I give 5 stars for THE best soft serve ice cream. Vanilla with a chocolate twist on a hot summer day? You bet. What’s unique is that they also have different flavored twists every day. I’ve tried the watermelon sherbet twist with vanilla and that adds a tang to the sweetness of vanilla. I really like the vanilla with pistachio twist. Don’t forget to try some of their food items. Their burgers are juicy and flavorful. Their fries are crispy on the outside while tender on the inside. I wasn’t a big fan of their hot dog and sauerkraut. I thought the hot dog was a bit dry and the sauerkraut didn’t have much flavor. I think growing up in Chicago, for me, nothing compares to the Vienna-style hot dog. No matter how mobbed the Country Drive-In is, you have to stop in for some ice cream.

This place is a local institution, and I have a lot of fond memories going here as a child. But when you grow up you realize that their frozen burger patties are pretty tasteless. The chicken is OK, and the Michigan fries are good. To me, it’s only worth going here for the ice-cream, because my husband can grill a burger at home that’s 10 times better than what they have to offer. Bottom line: Perfect dessert spot, so-so for meals.

If your looking for a good drive in restaurant on a nice day in Southern Saratoga County, then the Country Drive-In is your place. You can’t really lose with any food you get, the burgers, dogs, fries, and chicken sandwiches are all really good. The ice cream selection is awesome and the soft serve is really good as well.

I try to get to this place a few times a year as it is alot closer than Jump Jacks is and they have a similar menu. When I was a kid we came year a few times a year for ice cream, never to eat though. I just remember their food much better than what I recently experienced. We came on a Saturday night about 5:30ish so I was expecting… 1– a long wait to get food and 2– no parking. I was shocked when we arrived that there wasn’t the amount of people I was expecting there to be. We had no problem parking and the line was 10 to 12 people deep, not bad at all. In the past, I always ordered their ¼lb cheese burger and Michigan fires and never was disappointed. This time was different, I ordered the ½lb burger and a order of Michigan fries. I know it is a frozen burger patty but it had no seasoning(salt and pepper) on it. I literally only eat half the burger because it was just bland and gross. The Michigan fries were good, just as I had in the past. Maybe if I go back this year I will have to try their steak sandwich or fish fry. Although I think I have made my 1 and only trip to CCI for this year because the food wasn’t worth the wait or price.

The Wife and I have been a couple of times, we’ve enjoyed it each time. Burgers, fries, fried chicken, all good. The only complaint I have is that twice the Tea has had a sour taste. Will stick with sodas from now on.

Visiting with my in-laws, they took the family to Country Drive-In. I had no previous conceptions in my mind, so I was pleasantly surprised all around. The food portions were generous, everyone left satisfied. My husband had chicken and fries and the portion was so large! I had a veggie garden burger as I’m vegetarian and that was the. best. veggie. burger.ever. And it’s now a highlight when visiting the area.

There is nothing more fun in the summertime than going to an old fashioned drive-in and I am lucky enough to live closeby to this one. The food is greasy but thats the point. The burgers are good and come in either ¼lb or ½lb. They also have mini hot dogs, but the real piece de resistance is the Michigan fries. French fries with cheese and meat sauce. I got an order to split with my gf and ended up having to go back in line about halfway thru and order another, they were so good. The ice cream is pretty good and last year when I went here they had a watermelon sherbet/vanilla twist. I still dream about it and hope they have it regularly, but they didn’t this trip. They recently built a new dining area that is covered in case the weather isn’t great. As with all these mom and pop places CASHONLY!

The Country Drive-In is winning. I’ve been going here forever, and as I mentioned in my review for Jumpin’ Jacks, I have a thing for these sort of seasonal drive-in places. It’s not gourmet but it’s an enjoyable treat. You get your typical fried foods — chicken tenders, french fries, onion rings, etc. Burgers, hotdogs, and ice cream too. If you’re worried about calories, this place will blow your average daily intake out of the water. But it’s worth it, c’mon! I’d also like to confirm that Josh A.‘s pro-tip is definitely pro. Mosquitoes love Country Drive-In too, but not for the ice cream: they find you to be a far more appealing treat. I’ll throw in another pro-tip: Parking can be nightmare-mode here, especially on nice days around peak times(e.g., dinner time and weekends). Don’t be surprised if you show up and there is literally no place at all to park.

«Those Summer Nights» by Josh K. I am hooked for any throwback to a different time. On snow days such as today(6 – 12 inches predicted), thoughts of childhood summers are never far away. Whenever I go past the long-running Burger and Ice cream stand on Vicher Ferry Rd, I am reminded not of the 1950 –1960s where these kind of stands were ubiquitous throughout the country(of course I wasn’t born), but of my 1980s-1990s childhood(close enough). Soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist ice cream with cherry or peanut butter dip after Little League Games. Cheeseburger or chili dogs with thick, crisp onion rings on a lazy, summer, Sunday evening after a family camping trip. Tasty Fish Fry on a hotdog bun on Friday nights. Snacking on «Michigan Fries» with friends and thus staying out of trouble during high school. FYI– Michigan Fries(not sure if it’s a Michigan state thing?) are perfectly golden French fries covered with meat sauce and melted American cheese. You eat them with a fork. They are divine and I have never seen them sold anywhere else. Clifton Park’s The Country Drive-In is a place of nostalgia in of itself. It brings back those warm fuzzy summer memories for those young and old(I’ll spare you the lyrics of Grease’s «Summer Nights» that just popped into my head). When it opens again in May, you will be sure to find a horde of boys in their little league uniforms, girls in their softball uniforms, their parents, couples, and senior citizens all ordering some good old– fashioned American food and soft serve ice cream(chocolate, vanilla, twist, or the«flavor of the week”-When its Pistachio you are in for a real treat!). So bypass Five Guys or McDonalds or even the yummy ice cream sundaes of Friendly’s and go to The Country Drive-In(it’s cheaper anyways). And the Onion Rings are the best I have ever had. Seriously. Do it for the kids!

Country Drive-In is a summertime favorite in the Clifton Park area! They have been around for several decades and still going strong. They are often extremely crowded but don’t let the crowds dissuade you from eating here! The line does move quickly and the food is worth the wait! Country Drive-In serves many of your«fast food» favorites but of much better quality and it is all made fresh for you. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, fish fry’s, pulled pork, rings & fries… it’s all here and delicious. Portion sizes are very generous. If you’re in the mood for dessert, you’re also in luck! The Country Drive-In has great ice cream and cold treats as well. Same as the food, you get generous serving portions for a reasonable price. Whatever it is you decide to try at Country Drive-In, you’re bound to make a delicious decision. :)
