I wanted to love this store. I really did. I was very excited about a new clothing store opening in Clifton Park Center. But I’ve gone to the store twice, and both times I left fuming. The first time I went there, I was interested in purchasing new jeans, but I’d never heard of the brands they were selling, and I’m not fond of the idea of spending over a hundred bucks on a pair of jeans from a designer I’ve never heard of. There were quite a few employees working in the store at the time, especially considering the store isn’t very big. I think there were four or five of them, all young girls – maybe early twenties at the latest. I kept trying to get their attention, but they completely ignored me. There were a few other customers in the store, one of whom was a young, attractive guy. I noticed that the sales people were ignoring all the other women in the store, but the guy was getting approached for help every 30 seconds. I overheard a few of the conversations, and the girls were really shamelessly flirting with him – asking if they could try stuff on for him and all that, because he was shopping for a present for his girlfriend. I stayed in the store for half an hour, and every time I attempted to approach one of the staff, they would walk off and approach the guy before I could get a word off, or, in one case, walked off while I was in the middle of a sentence. I was astonished, and very angry. Well, I came back the next week with my husband(who is also young and attractive), interested in recreating the experience. Almost all the girls there were the same ones from the last time. I asked him to walk off by himself for awhile and act like he was browsing. Sure enough, they completely ignored me, but he was approached by every single one of them within a few minutes. And they were flirting with him REALLY badly. It was embarrassingly obvious and really aggressive. So, we left. My best friend told me that she went in with her boyfriend and had the same exact experience, and one of her coworkers mentioned the same thing with HER boyfriend. I know it’s a brand new store, but this is really over-the-top bad service – and not only is it bad, it’s offensive. I don’t know if the owner is aware that the staff she’s hired is only concerned about meeting guys, and is completely ignoring the target demographic in favor of any attractive male that walks in the place, but I hope that this staff was only seasonal. Regardless, I don’t know if I’ll ever be going back.
