Last year, I received a pair of leggings from Wit’s End as a Christmas gift. I noticed that after wearing them only two times, they had a hole in them. My mother and I brought them back to the store along with the receipt. The worker in the clothing section was extremely rude and told me that I can’t expect too much when I buy cheap leggings. They were $ 25! In the past I’ve purchased $ 8 leggings at Target and they’ve lasted me 3+ years. She reluctantly let me exchange them, after trying to up sell me $ 80 leggings. That left a really bad taste in my mouth and I haven’t been back since, until this weekend. I received a gift card for Christmas and went into the store knowing exactly which necklace I wanted to purchase. I picked it out at the counter and the saleswoman said she would clean it up for me and have it behind the register for when I was ready to checkout. Ten minutes later, the saleswoman finds me in the store and tells me she broke the chain while cleaning it, but I could purchase the longer chained version for $ 10 more. Now it would’ve been great customer service if they decided to waive the additional $ 10 because they were the ones to break the first one. I told her I preferred the shorter chain, so she proceeds to tell me they have ordered two more and I can call them over the next few weeks to see if/when they received them. Not once did they offer to take my information and call me once the necklace came in. I left there disgusted. I did go to Maggie’s Gift Shop, found the same necklace and purchased it from them. Wit’s End lost out on a sale because their customer service is appalling. Once my gift card balance is $ 0 I never intend to go back and will advise everyone I know to shop the smaller, friendlier gift shops like Maggie’s and The Open Door.

For Christmas my husband bought me a lovely necklace at this boutique. It was not my taste, however, so with his encouragement I returned it. It wasn’t until I saw the actual receipt that I realized that they charged him $ 4. to wrap a $ 350. gift! !! When I mentioned to the sales person that I was appalled that they charged him for gift wrapping, she said that she didn’t make the rules and that the necklace came in a nice box.(What’s that got to do with it?). Wit’s End appears to be a lovely store. Some how they lost the meaning of customer service and what being a class act looks like. Lost my business for sure over a four dollar bow. Won’t step a foot in there again. And that goes for my friends who were also mortified when I shared this experience.

On Saturday November 16, 2013 I had the pleasure of visiting Wits End to purchase some Kameleon pops and see if they could remove the one that was stuck in my ring. After many tries, including the store manager having a go at it, that pop would just not budge. I was assisted by Joyce and by Phyllis, they were the sweetest nicest people you could ask for. Joyce introduced me to a new line they have, Uno De 50 and I fell in love. I purchase one of the rings while I was waiting to see what was going to happen with my pop. Imagine how shocked I was when the ladies came back to me and said, «Your ring was scratched when we were trying to remove the pop, so we are giving you a brand new ring and pop to replace the one you brought in.» I love Wits End, I shop there mostly for myself(spoiled brat) and this just showed me again why I keep coming back. Their customer service is impeccable. The sales staff were all so accomodating, so kind, even the ones not working with me wanted to see what ring I bought! It was really a lot of fun. Kudos to your store owner, she has a superb team working with her, I wish you all many many years of success. I already told my family, all I want for Christmas is gift cards from Wits End! Thank you Joyce and Phyllis.

This store is impossible to navigate with a wheelchair or a stroller. Aisles are not wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs or strollers without running over merchandise that is set on the floor. Also, there is *no* access to the downstairs portion of the store without using stairs, as I was told by a friendly salesperson. She did offer to help me lift my stroller down the stairs, but then I would have been trapped without someone to help me back up. I would suggest adding ramps to make it handicap accessible.

I find the clientele and staff to be snooty. They have overpriced stuff! And it’s crowded with merch so one can’t walk around. I feel like I’m being watched by staff constantly. I’m not a thief. I have bought some jewelry here and the stuff is very nice but the general feel of the place is that the staff caters to who THEY think are the rich folk. I became annoyed today when I walked behind a customer at the Pandora counter and she backed up into me and didn’t say excuse me(I said excuse me, just common courtesy!) The place is so stuffed with junk that you can’t help bumping into people! She said nothing! Just looked at me! I put all my stuff down and walked out and decided I’m not going back there. Ugh!

I was so pleased to read that there were other Handicapped people that had a terrible experience by the OWNER, I was there in 2009, I sat down on the second floor, on steel shopping baskets, I have MS… I was told to get up and not to sit on her expensive baskets. I told her I have MS and I needed to sit and rest, and that there was no other place for me to sit, I thought I was kind and sat not on her stairs, blocking anyone, but on her pile of 3 steel baskets, that an elephant couldn’t now on with the complaint, I said to her that there was no other place to sit, I have a store that has chairs for people to sit, and bathrooms as needed by law. see u next christmas. she proceeded to move the baskets and didn’t offer a place for me to sit, I left the store with my entire family. I got a gift certificate then the next year and went back this Christmas 2 years later and only spent ½ of my $ 100.00.oh no! I have to go back again, I hate the vibs in the entire place. The people r not nice they are very cold, not helpful, it only looks pretty, the people are certainly not.

I live really close to this store, and it’s a really neat place. But the service is astonishingly awful, and every time I venture back into the store I am quickly reminded why I avoided it in the first place. The staff of primarily older and middle-aged women there(there may be some men, but I have never encountered one) have enormously snotty attitudes and either treat me like a shoplifter by shadowing me and rudely asking if I’m going to buy something as soon as I pick it up, or, conversely, ignore me, and it’s like pulling teeth to get someone to help me. The most recent visit, for Christmas shopping, ended up being the latter. Any time I finally got the assistance of a saleswoman, they were so nasty and condescending to me that I very nearly walked out. The only exception was the younger girl at the Pandora counter, who was an enormous help. I don’t know if it’s because I’m young(25) and they therefore think I’m broke, or if they just hate young people in general. They’ve also been excessively rude to my father, who has long hair and is in a wheelchair – he informed me that a woman PUSHED his wheelchair out of the way at a jewelry counter so she could show another customer something, without asking permission, and the woman was later identified to him as the owner of the store. So, obviously, this is a precedent set at the top, and all the complaints in the world won’t accomplish anything. It’s stunning to me that anyone in the business of retail would be so openly and unforgivably rude to customers. I choose to avoid this place at all costs, only venturing there for very specific gifts and hightailing it out as soon as humanly possible.

I half love coming here and half dread it. Its incredibly overwhelming because it had two floors that are absolutely COVERED in things, candles, cards, gifts, etc. You’ll definately find what you need but you may need to spend some time looking. I absolutely love their selection of vera wang things, and they also have a beautiful selection of pandora. I’m not sure if its because its december but I was asked if I was being helped 10 times, I guess thats great customer service though. You couldn’t move with out being able to find someone to help you. If you love a gift shop type places you’ll love this place
