Pizza and sushi? Why didn’t I think of this? Why didn’t anyone think of this! Oh yeah, that’s because it’s a bad idea.

I was pleasantly surprised that Union Bar formerly known as Bushido had added a brunch menu, pizza and pasta to the menu. The garlic chicken pizza was amazing as well as the always consistent tuna tartar. They also have a great craft beer selection. Pizza, sushi and beer make a great combination.

Dropped in on a break from driving from Boston to Philly. What a great find! Chihuly light and fantastic pizza. Friendly owner and comfortable too.

The people are great, Charles and his staff. The food is lovely too. I personally prefer the smoked salmon thin crust pizza as my favorite. I have tried a lot of the pizzas and pastas, only a few of the Japanese sushi type items; the pizzas were quite good, but the salmon was the best of what I’ve had. There were also spring roll-type items with seafood(ask which one that is, I think it was called«Crab Haru»?) but they are changing the menu to make it more clear. Anyway, that was excellent. I tried the Pinot Grigio and the Sancerre, both very good. Charles told me to try a different type recently,(white Spanish Rioja, which was okay, not bad, I still favor the previous two.) We tend to go there after Mass on Sunday afternoon. It’s quiet, the service is excellent, they are just starting up the brunch time. I also like the fact that there are a bunch of thin bolster pillows behind you, so you can stack them up to make a nice comfy seat however you like it. Anyway if you want a touch of a Manhattan restaurant iin Cliffside Park, this is an excellent idea. It’s also fun to talk about life and philosophy with a restaurant owner. I consider it a happy accident that we stumbled across this place while driving home. We park in the back, behind the restaurant, on the weekends, when it appears there is not a problem w/that. One more thing; they have a large selection of beers here; beers are not really my thing, but I did try the Milk Stout and it was quite nice. But I prefer the Sancerre over any beer!
