I went in Beyoglu, for the first time on a Wednesday evening, with a friend who highly recommended the Edgewater location. For some reason she ALWAYS wanted to eat at Beyoglu. I finally understood why. The ambiance was charismatic and the music was gentle. When we went in, it was still too early and there wasn’t any customers inside so we got our orders really quickly. We both got the Lamb Shish and the meat was very tender, seasoned deliciously, and it was full of flavor. We asked for separate checks and the waitress hesitated and responded with, «you both ordered the same thing. just split it in half.» The attitude and lack of decency was unimaginable. The intensifying glare was something else. Unimpressive/poor customer service resulted in my negative rating. The food was a solid 4 – 5 but terrible waitress.

Came here for dinner with a friend last week and must say I was disappointed especially after reading all the rave reviews. I feel like I eat turkish food pretty often and didn’t love the food. However, the décor and ambiance are great. The lamps are both colorful and beautiful, and the dark wood makes for a very sensuous dining experience — perfect for a first date. I was also a little confused as to whether it was a BYO, since they serve alcohol, but I also saw a patron come in with a bottle of his own wine. Overall it’s a nice place, but I wish the food was a little more tasty. I got the chicken shish in yogurt and my friend got the lamb grill with rice. Neither of them were especially flavorful and we wished the service was a little more attentive. Maybe other dishes have more flavor, but we didn’t experience that this particular night.

My wife and I came here on a quiet Thursday evening. We were greeted and seated immediately when we came through the door. We had a waiter who was polite, attentive and very helpful. Right away, he brought us fresh, warm Turkish pide bread with oil for dipping and took our drink orders. For an appetizer, we shared the zucchini pancakes. They were cooked to perfection… crisp on the outside and tender & tasty on the inside. For our entrees, my wife ordered the avocado salad with grilled chicken and I ordered the Karasik Izgara, which is a mixed grill. She told me her salad was delicious and my mixed grill was off the chain! It was an assortment of gyro, lamb shish, adana and tuvak. The meats were cooked to perfection and I can’t believe I ate that whole plate. The bill was very reasonable for two people and our service on this evening was exceptional. The décor was very mellow and it was a very quiet atmosphere. Since I’m only ten minutes away, we would definitely dine here again and they accept credit cards. A nice little gem on Anderson Avenue

Good food. Their bread is awesome. Nice and warm. I usually order Adana kebab which comes with rice, grilled tomato and green hot pepper, and onion salad. I really like the meat and sides. Had the avocado salad. But it was different from the menu. The salad was not what they described. Used a different greens and an ingredient was missing. It was a large portion and too oily for my taste. They had nice décor. Comfortable chairs. Service is good. Staff is nice. BUT the most annoying thing about this place is when you want to take the leftover home. This happened to me twice. I asked for it to be packed. They only packed the meat and threw out the rice, grilled pepper and onion salad. It was so upsetting — I had a lot left over. I usually order a lot of food so I can save some for tomorrow’s lunch. I paid for the sides too. The second time I went I specially asked them to pack everything. The waiter said he would. But when I checked only the meat was there. No rice, no pepper, no onion salad, no bread. I didn’t even touch the rice or pepper when I asked it to be packed. I was very upset so I asked the waiter and he only gave me the rice. They already got rid of everything else. I don’t understand that concept of not packing everything. I will give this place one more try. If it happens again, I will not be coming back.

Pretty good Turkish restaurant. If you are a fan of Turkish food then you would more than likely enjoy this place. Just walking through the doors and embracing the vibe of this restaurant feels nice. It is pretty spacious, the décor is nice from wall to wall. They have TVs that are constantly showing beautiful pictures from all around Turkey, which it is easy to get lost in. Lamps all around from Turkey, always a welcomed sight :) Service was great. The waitresses were quite attentive and great with making suggestions. They have a good drink menu, they even serve Raki(Turkey’s national alcoholic beverage, Yea they got one). On to the food The Calamari was good, I would liked for it to have been a bit more crunchy, still tasted good. Chef salad was huge and packed with flavor Doner Kabobs were pretty good but I felt that the amount of food on the plate doesn’t justify its price. A nice sauce to go with these would have been good but if you know Turkish food then you realize it’s not about spices lol. Ordered some dessert and Coffee. Gota say I loved the presentation of the food, but the Coffee takes the cake. Served in a nice Turkish coffee set, just reminded me of the alchemist(where they talk about the crystal tea set in egypt) Great spot to just unwind in, not my first choice when it comes to food, but I wouldn’t say no to coming back here :)(confusing cause it should be)

Best turkish food in town. I havent have a chance to have a seated dinner so far but i order every week at least once by phone. Every single time my food cook to perfection. And also the turkish gentlemen on phone(im also Turkish) who is always taking care of my order is extremely kind and helpful. They should be grateful to have him. Im just so happy they still have this location open. After my first visit to the new location i was afraid of that they may be close this one. But i should say service wise edgewater location is terrible… anyway i hope one day soon ill visit for dinner to beyoglu grill bc i m %100 sure im on the good hands and will taken care of well. The atmosphere is great on a Saturday night. It’s great for date night and great for date night with a bunch of friends. They have hookah and it’s more of a lounge vs a restaurant

Great lunch ! I loved how fresh everything tasted. The hummus was perfect, and the waitress was a sweetheart. She suggested the eggplant appetizer because I wanted to try something new and it was delicious, perfectly made and very tasty. The entrees me and my girlfriend got were also very well composed and for lunch at the price point this is a very good deal. The rice was really good and the ground chicken that I had was a bit spicy but very bold in flavor. Thank you Beyoglu your waitress rocks!!!

I’ve eaten in this restaurant on two occasions both for lunch, and have also ordered delivery from this restaurant twice for dinner. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. The first time I went there I was pregnant and the food was delicious and the restaurant was warm and relaxing. I recently went again and the waiters were very helpful carrying my daughters stroller into the restaurant. The delivery came rather quickly, and was just as delicious as it was in the restaurant. The first time I ordered they even threw in a rice pudding for my husband and myself which was wonderful. I’m definite going to be frequenting this restaurant again. Menu items I really enjoy are the hummus, Shepard salad with feta cheese, and the Adana kabobs. I can’t wait to sample more items. The rice pudding is also a tempting delight. Remember it’s also BYOB!!!

Came here for lunch, as I was in the area and was encouraged by the positive Unilocal reviews I saw. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded, but it was a about 1:30ish on a weekday. I was going to order take-out, but then changed my mind and decided to stay. Note that the take-out menus are incorrect: the lunch special is $ 11, not $ 10. For what you get, the price is good and I have no complaints; I get it, menus can be expensive to print. But a little warning would be nice before paying. I ordered the chopped salad, grilled eggplant, and lamb. Note that the menu offers you salad *OR* soup. I thought it was both, and I ordered the chopped salad and the red lentil soup, and the waitress said nothing and just brought me the salad. When I asked at the end of the meal if I was going to get the soup, that’s when I realized I had missed out on the key word«or» on the menu. Once again, I kinda wish someone had said something while I was ordering. The chopped salad is actually really good. Whatever seasoning/dressing they use is perfectly light and works wonderfully with the tomatoes and cucumber. And I like that there isn’t cheese. As a non-cheese eater, nothing is more annoying to me than when people ruin a great salad by throwing in random cheese bits. The bread at the table was also good, and I loved the smokey red pepper paste that was served alongside it.(Clearly I don’t often eat Turkish food, so I don’t know what this is called, but I really enjoyed it.) The lamb was slightly uncooked(some pinkish bits), but well seasoned, and went well with the buttery, salty rice and the soft grilled eggplant(which I loved). There was so much food, I ended up packing up most of it to take home. It served as my dinner that night. Service is fairly quick and friendly, although they won’t correct you or inform you about things that they probably should mention(see above). I wouldn’t go out of my way to return, but I wouldn’t mind coming back. I will say though that I tried Cinar, the Turkish restaurant down the road, a couple days later and definitely thought it was better than this place(although their chopped salad has random bits of cheese, booo).

I must say that I am not a huge fan of Turkish food… however, Beyoglu Grill in Cliffside Park, NJ has permanently changed that! From the moment we walked in I was impressed! Décor –Kool & welcoming Staff — Sweet & attentive Food — A+ Price — A I will definitely be back! I had the warm toasty bread w/olives and a type of red pepper tamponade which was crazy good to start. Then we had a really good & fresh Hummus. Then moved onto the main course. I had the shrimp casserole and hubby had the ‘mixed grill’ which was large enough for 2 and consisted of grilled beef cubes, chicken, gyro, and lamb…(And a jalepeno pepper as a sidekick) with rice. AMAZZZZING! Seasoned to perfection! Now let me get to my shrimp casserole… The best way to describe it was a Mediterranean version of shrimp parm… But 100 times better. The shrimp was so fresh(not that frozen crap) and it was served in an attractive fish shaped dish bubbling with cheesey goodness, thinly sliced onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, in a lovely rich creamy red sauce. I have never had such a scrumptious shrimp meal EVER! This place is a must! And as we were ready to leave we got the bill the cutest little box, complete with packaged lemon scented hand wipes. NICE touch! But wait… there’s more! As a added surprise, AFTER we paid the bill our waiter comes over and asks if we would like to try the Baklavah… On the house. Now remember. I’m a novice in this but I have tasted it from time-to-time…not a fan… however…as I reluctantly took a bite… I was really surprised and pleased at the crispy sweetness of it. It wasn’t drowned in syrup and overly sweet and soggy like most that I’ve had in the past! Again… kudos! This place is a MUST! ;)
