If you are looking for excellent and very inexpensive Turkish food this is a great place. I eat here often and have not gone wrong yet. I just love the chicken chops, but also check out the daily specials. It is small and not a place to go for the atmosphere, but nonetheless if you are looking for a good meal it’s perfect. Portions are large and always cooked to perfection. It is family owned and the service is what you find in a family run place — they take pride in their business.

I have been a regular of Doner Kebab for the longest I can remember. I enjoy coming here for dinner and getting their Adana Kebab with a few of their side dishes; hummus, shepherds salad topped with feta cheese, red lentil soup — all are just simply delightful. They are always consistent with their good tasting food and by far the best Turkish restaurant in town(there are plenty BTW). Nothing comes close to the way they make their Adana Kebab. Their lamb gyro’s are pretty good too however they only have Lamb on certain days. It’s a little pricey but what Turkish place isn’t? The owner and chef are very pleasant as well as the atmosphere. It’s a small and intimate place but definitely worth dining in.

Wow. Sad to see a good food restaurant getting bad reviews because of its customer service attention. The food here is really good and well seasoned. I mostly get the lebni(a thick yogurt sauce) and the white beans salad, both are great with pita! always to die for!

I’ve never been to Turkey. But I would bet this food would pass as premium even for the locals. The chix kebab is super tender. And the the loyal and Shepard salad are off the chart. Fresh and delicious. I only order three things from there so I can’t speak on the rest of the menu… but those three items. Perfecto.

I’ve ordered from this place many times. it’s always the same. good food. For most part I order the combo and a shepherd salad on the side… good for two people maybe three… the food is always well prepared and has a very delightful fresh feeling to it. The nice people that tend to the restaurant are your honest hard working folks. no complaints on that end.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Ordered our food at 8:24pm for delivery and the lady told us that theyre busy and it would take about an hour for our food to arrive. Waited about an hour and 15 mins. I called them to see how much longer it would take. She said he had already left. It takes about 7min from the restaurant to my location. Waited another 15mins and still a noshow. Tried calling again and they had no legit answer. Its 10:25 now and im still waiting for my food. NEVERORDERINGFROMHEREAGAIN. Update* So the delivery guy finally showed up at 10:30 and offered us a discount. Seriously? Like we dont have money to buy food? Instead of offering us a basic apology he gets mad at us and asks us if we wanted to cancel our order. THANKSFORMAKING A PREGNANTWOMANANDBABYWAIT2HOURS!

This place has the worst customer service in life! I have ordered from this place several time always hoping they better themselves. My latest encounter with them was via grubhub. I ordered did not get everything and then when I called to let them know they messed up they wanted to charge me again!!! unbelievable! DONTWASTEYOURTIMEEATINGHERE! there are 1000 other turkish places with quality food with way better customer service.

Nice, casual Turkish restaurant. Food quality overall is good. The prices in the area have gone up all around, but I guess this is expected. I’m not sure how you compare this to beyogulu or a «fancier» place. Because those places are much more expensive and not better in food quality or taste. Wouldn’t come here for a first date. But not bad for a nice meal.

Ugh, horrible! Doner Kebab is hands down the worst place I ever ate food from. I became very sick after eating the chicken kebob. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away unless you want to risk getting sick!

I find it amusing that someone would rate this place one star primarily on the basis of price — in favor of Beyoglu. Don’t get me wrong, Beyoglu is a quality Turkish restaurant, but it is more expensive and frankly the food is not any better. The ambiance at this tiny spot is more than«intimate.» There are fewer than 10 tables and it is very casual. Not a good date place. Much better for friends hanging out. They keep a tv on with Turkish programming. Excellent place for fresh and authentic Turkish food. The chef is very consistent, particularly with the kebabs. I like to order mine«yogurtlu» which means that it is served on a bed of pita croutons and garlic yogurt. Fantastic. They can do this with any of the kebabs or shawerma meats. I recommend the borek(deep fried rolled pastry with feta cheese inside) and the white bean salad. The lentil soup is very good. If the baklava is fresh you might go for it with some Turkish tea. They used to make a tremendous baked dessert as an option to the baklava, but I haven’t seen it in a while — THAT was unbelievable. It was Kadayef with melted cheese — shredded filo dough with melted cheeses(Kashkaval or Kasseri) inside along with walnuts, rose water and sugar syrup. 5 for food. They do deliver as well.

Agreed the food is good, but as previous post indicated they changed the chicken gyro for the worse. Anyhow rating it one star because of the way they charge. Very high prices, and they are unreasonable. I ordered two salads with meat on top and it came out to $ 42 dollars because they basically charged me the main course price of the meat to top the salad. $ 13 dollars for a few slabs of doner on my salad… plus $ 7 for the salad… wtf?! Problem with these guys is they don’t listen to the customer and need to justify that they are right… refused to budge when I was explaining my concerns he went told his costs… lol. Whatever I guess business is good and they don’t need me. I’m sure they won’t miss my business but I encourage you to try the other Turkish restaurants in town. Much better prices and better portions and they care! Imagine that… Try Dayi nin Yeri 2018401770, Turkish kitchen 201943773 — great wraps here, or Beyoglu Grill 2019468661 — good quality meat and portions

We were recommended this place by a local realtor. The first time we dined in and the food was excellent! The hummus was deliciously homemade and the shepheards pie reminded me of the one my mom and dad used to make. All of the meats are choice and mouth watering. Definately my new favorite place in town!

BRINGBACKTHEOLDCHICKENGYRO!!! please. My boyfriend and I have been a major fan of Doner Kebab House in Cliffside Park since we discovered it one fateful night some 4 years ago. He loves gyros, but I will only eat chicken. They serve chicken on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays and we would always find a reason to go near this place on any of those days, just to have some more of it. Honestly we crave it, or I should say CRAVEDIT!!! [OLDREVIEW — ] BADNEWS, they changed the recipe, and I’m not sure why. What was once a magically flavored/juicy chicken roasted on the spit all day and placed delicately into a platter with a super hot Jalapeño is no more. Instead it’s chicken-it may be roasted but I cant tell– there is some sauce on it, and it reminds me of the frozen chicken and rice in a bag that weight watchers sells. They also lost the Jalapeño and replaced it with a less hot and less desirable pepper… They lost their identity with this one fatal flaw. Ive had the new recipe twice now, and its ok, but NOTATALL nearly as good as it was. In fact, I’m embarrassed now, we used to rave about this place and tell all our friends to go on MWS to have the chicken, but now if they do it wouldn’t be the same. WHYDONERKABOBHOUSE?! I still love you guys, your are so nice, fast, and friendly… but with out the old roasted chicken recipe, I see no reason to frequent you 2 sometimes 3 times a week. Please hear my pleas, maybe you can offer both recipes??? ***CHICKENISBACK!!! and sooo good, thank you Doner Kebab House-1 star added back for listening.

This place is phenomenal! I have been frequenting this place for some time now. The food is delicious. I salivate every time I go into this place. Everything I have eaten has been perfect. The keftke is great, as well, as the chicken adana. I love their hummus and ezme. The prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly. If you wanna try some Turkish food come here. You will not be disappointed.

I got the Adana wrap, felt obligated because I’ve actually been to Adana in Turkey. Maybe it was of how late it was but I didn’t find the food to be all that spectacular. The meat was slightly dry and and the overall meal was very mediocre. On a positive note the humus was very good and I would say this place probably deserves another shot just on the basis of the friendly wait staff.
