nice interior, good coffee. The baristas sometimes get loud and entertain themselves at the expense of the customers(ok, one laughs WAY too loud), but they are nice. Music a tad loud. I like to read in coffee shops.

Came in here after getting an awesome cut at Eddys and grabbing lunch at Phở & Rice. Awesome coffee shop and saw that they made a lavender latte, and it’s the best tasting latte I’ve ever had. More coffee shops should get on the floral flavors!

Just fucking full of hipsters and people that are generally irritating, but it’s good coffee– certainly not a deal and nobody here is really in a rush either so expect a cappuccino to be a 10 min process. Either way, I guess I like it– but still it’s full of weirdos– not sure why I keep coming here

Really great little coffee shop. I love their Peppermint Mocha and the BF loves their Speedball, a double coffee/double chocolate mocha. Had their bacon and gruyère croissants, which are awesome, blueberry muffin which was average, and a cinnamon roll muffin that was super tasty. Staff has been friendly each time. Quick service. All around nice experience. A refreshing alternative to big chain coffee houses.

In place of a detailed review, please see the attached photo of the macchiato I had today. If you are an espresso purist, it will tell you more than you need to know. Dark, flavorful, piping hot espresso pulled into a properly-sized preheated ceramic cup, and topped with thick textured milk in equal parts with the espresso. The crema blends perfectly with the foam, which comes nicely to the top and allows for the barista to apply a fantastic finishing touch with some splendid foam art. A Platonic coffee experience through and through, enhanced by the energy of bustling Coventry Village and its diverse, urban vibe. A cultured friend of mine once told me that«you can’t get good coffee in Cleveland.» Those days are long gone now, if they ever existed in the first place.

Fantastic addition to Coventry with a wonderful coffee selection as well as plenty of space and outlets for all day studying sessions. I got the hazelnut latte the first time which was delicious and not too strong since I usually don’t drink strong mocha drinks. The next day I opted for the seasonal gingersnap latte which tasted full of real ginger and lots of love. All the staff were super attentive and nice. Would come back any day!

I wish I lived closer! I have been to this location about 10 times and haven’t been disappointed yet! The quality of product, customer service and atmosphere are all on point. I wish they would open one in the Akron area so I could have it all the time.

I clearly don’t get to Coventry Rd. enough because I didn’t even know the location of this store changed. The décor is modern and rustic at the same time, but it is chilly on cold days. I wouldn’t recommend the chai latte if you like them spiced. It’s pretty bland and very foamy. But the hot chocolate was delicious!

This Phoenix isn’t the usual for me. I’m typically on the West Side and was happy to see there was a Phoenix on the East Side while I was killing time. This location is cute too. Seating was comfortable. Coffee was good. I ordered a pour-over and they brought it to my table. Phoenix is always good. Go here. Enjoy the Joe.

Ahhhhhhhhh, my home away from home. The fact that this Phoenix is so close to home is only part of the reason I enjoy coming here. The service is always friendly and the Stuporball… FRIGGINDELICIOUS. Yes, the college kids and aimless web browsers seeking a charging station tend to crowd the place; but that doesn’t detract from the fact that you can get a great cup of Joe to go for a price far better than starbucks.

Came here to get some work finished while waiting for a friend for brunch, and was welcomed by a delightful staff on Sunday morning. The vibe is modern and hipster-like in décor. There’s plenty of table settings, counter settings, and a long, elevated table as well. Coffee test great this morning and so was the muffin! Definitely worth a visit for a cup of joe in the morning :)

The cold-brew here is excellent. All of their coffee is great and they have a good pastry selection, including some gluten-free options.

Phoenix Coffee is some mighty good joe. We drink coffee everywhere we go, and the first sips here got the sniff, sip, pause and hum that is an automatic reaction to awesome coffee-ness.

I loved this little coffee shop. It had good vibes and the service was super friendly. The coffee was very good. I also tried the Alma Palmer and it was quite delicious, too. I like how I had the option to choose which tea that went into the Alma Palmer. I wisely choose green tea. Very clean space. It was a nice place to do a little work. I loved the furniture. Plenty of outlets to charge up. The wifi password is up at the counter. Bathroom was also well kept. If I am ever back in Cleveland I will be making a return visit to Phoenix.

I love ya’ll. I was visiting the area and walked over to do some work on my laptop. I appreciate how the space was used to create a lot of sitting options. I copped a seat with my back turned to one of the big windows. I was surprised at how comfortable and spacious both the chair and table were. I sat there a while doing some work while people watching on and off. The place gets some interesting visitors. I tried iced coffee, a vanilla latte, and a peppermint tea latte. Not all in one sitting, mind you. One of the surprising drinks was the peppermint tea latte. I’ve never had one until I came here and it turned out really great even though I typically don’t like peppermint anything when it comes to my drinks. I was fond of the iced coffee and vanilla latte as well. I kind of wished I lived in the area so I can come here each morning. I was so relaxed and enjoyed my experience here. I have yet to try any of the goodies, which of course means I have to come back sometime soon!

Phoenix is by far my favorite coffee shop in Cleveland. There are four locations. All of the locations offer vegan alternatives using soy or almond milk. Most locations also carry vegan treats as well! The Coventry location is most conveniently located to my house so I frequent this spot. The new location has a swanky«hip» feel. I have to admit I miss the old locations cozy atmosphere and fire place. Phoenix will always make my Top 10 vegan-friendly places in Cleveland.

Tasty coffee. I am from Chicago so I have fairly high standards when it comes to coffee(Wormhole, Dark Matter, Intelligentsia) I was lucky enough to get their last roast of a bourbon barrel coffee and holy cow was it so amazing. I made in in a Chemex and I can still taste it. In house I tried their Americano and it was great. If you are passing through Cleveland, this would be a recommended spot. Also if you are here check out Big Fun across the street!

This place as is, it’s ok, mainly because in terms of getting a quick coffee the area of town has(besides STARBUCKS) only Stone Oven, Prestis and this place to choose from. I guess, it resembles nothing of the original PHOENIX a few years ago up the road, that I considered a very special place to hang out, instead it now reminds me of BORDERSBOOKSHOP Café in its days. Kids working the counter are at times fascinating in the show they display behind the counter, it’s always a bit like«The Circus came to town!» You get three basic groups of people in here: 1; the kids working the counter, some are nice, some try to look nice, some are only young; 2; regulars that come here not for the coffee, but this seems their main social net, the majority of them is older(elderly) gentlemen and they give the place a bit the feel of a dive bar; 3; super hip Case Western students with apple laptops that are plugged in and make it very clear, even though they are here, they are NOTREALLY here, in fact after they graduate they will run from this city ASAP, so the time they are here does NOTREALLY count, often enough they have loud conversations with someone you can’t see because this VIP person is on the other end of their skype connection or iPhone, if you get to sit next to such a wonder-child be sure to know that your existence does not count at all and that’s why it does not matter that you will overhear every single detail about what they are eating right now this very second or what went wrong with the recent one-night-stand or their best friend Hillary. The most important group out of these three are definitely the hip kids behind the counter. It took me ages to put my finger on it until I finally got to watch a show called«gallery girls» about chic girlies interning for free in posh NY art galleries, the show doesn’t talk about the art or exhibitions at all, but features only the issues in these girls social lives. And suddenly it all made sense. Maybe these days everyone wants to be on reality TV, reinventing themselves and being a celebrity by simply being, not doing. And this is «Phoenix Coffeshop Reality TV show». If you like it: brilliant. Totally your place. It’s not real but it provides a moment in the spotlight, if that’s what you’re after, locally anyways. If you want discretion and privacy for a moment away from work, maybe not the best place unless you sit far away from the counter. Very intense and a bit too spooky and surreal, if you prefer a low-key ambiente. The baked goods are industrial generic pre-made stuff that will be thawed/warmed up/baked in the store, with the looks of the stuff you get at airports waiting for your connection flight with grumbling stomach and finally succumb to eating it anyways, only to regret it afterwards, and think«why did I do that, again?» Then again, some people come in with a brown paper bag, inside pizza and a soft drink from up the road, they eat that and when they are done they disappear again. Perhaps that is a solution, you certainly wouldn’t be the first. Coffee itself at Phoenix is good, at times very strong(too strong? Or is that Rust-belt chic again? God help us all.) Here’s what you could do: get a croissant from Stone Oven, go down to Phoenix Coventry with a ski mask and mirrored sun glasses and order a coffee to go(don’t say a word and pay with card or pre-counted cash), then go down to Presti’s and sit outside on one of them tiny tables and eat it all. That’s it! I knew there is a solution to it all, there usually is. «Breakfast at Tiffany’s», B-version, it’s Cleveland, everything Rust-belt chic, and don’t you forget it!

I came in here on a rainy Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. and the place was pretty full. Most of the seating was already taken, so my friends and I ended up sitting on some stools at a raised table rather than at a regular table. This wasn’t such a big deal though because there was still electrical outlets available under the table which made it easy to plug in my computer. There was also free secured wifi available with the password listed at a sign on the counter. I ended up ordering the Peppermint Tea Latte which was quit pleasant and something I would recommend to someone who was looking for an alternative to coffee. The bathroom was also clean, but interestingly enough had no sign at all on the door indicating it was a bathroom. Huh. Maybe they have just not put a sign up yet? I would come back here next time I’m in Cleveland Heights.

It’s 2:15 on a Monday and there is almost nowhere to sit and literally nowhere to sit without staring into the sun. I’m going to have to leave and that is really too bad for me because I already bought my coffee. A good place to stop in but if you’re counting on a quiet seat, wifi and a general lack of sun-induced blindness I’d go somewhere else. I just wish I knew where that somewhere is so I could go there too.

The espresso here was very good. It had deep, dark, rich flavors of bakers chocolate and tart cherry, a hint of smokiness and a very robust character. The atmosphere is modern and clean. The clientele is hipsters absorbed in their laptops. I don’t mind this, at least these people are quiet. I don’t really like loud places full of idiots who can’t shut their stupid mouths. The staff at the counter was friendly, but service was sloooow. So don’t come here during peak hours if you’re in a hurry. But I wasn’t in a hurry and it seemed like my espresso was prepared with care, so I didn’t mind. I was going to buy a bag of beans but a giant line formed by the time I was ready to leave, and it was not even moving… so I had to take off. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area looking for REAL coffee.
