Tom Terrific here with another honest restaurant review. this review is for the Quaker Steak and Lube on 49th St. North. the original QS&L is in my hometown. I was acquainted with original owners Jig and Moe who bought an old Quaker STATE& Lube gas station on a corner lot and converted it into a car themed restaurant. It was very successful in the 70’s, 80’s but started to decline in the late 90’s and 2000’s. in NE Ohio and Western Pa we just do not spend $ 4 for a draft beer. The Nittany still has 75 cent drafts. the original actually went into bankruptcy but has climbed out now. with that in mind I had my doubts about this QS&L franchise. yes they have $ 4 Bud Light Drafts and I had two of them. they were crisp, cold and thirst quenching. our happy and efficient server was Hanna Banana(she called herself). though known for their wings and sauces, I ordered the one pound bone-in choice ribeye steak done medium with an inclusive soup or salad for $ 19. I chose potato soup and paid $ 5 extra for onion rings. my friend had the Kentucky bourbon steak K-Bobs with inclusive salad for $ 13. our food was served promptly and hot. my friend was pleased with the K-Bobs and I had a delicious rib eye with virtually no fat ring on the outside. it was 100% meat and I couldn’t have been happier with it. the bacon enhanced potato soup was great too with chunks of potato, bacon and cheese. the onion rings were hot, crispy and huge! Michael the manager came to our table a few times to check on us and chat. He had been to my hometown and had visited that original QS&L himself. Hanna made sure we were taken care of as well. I tipped her $ 7. I was very pleased that this restaurant is a MUCH better one than the original. the place is kept neat and tidy. the restaurant has a vehicle theme with a Corvette, GTO and racing cars hanging from the ceiling. but what I really was taken with was the Acrostar jet airplane from the James Bond Movie For Your Eyes Only starring Roger Moore as 007. I have a goldbar from the movie Goldfinger so I love anything to do with Bond. they also had a number of TV’s tuned to sports stations. I understand this QS&L has car and motorcycle nights where hundreds of vehicles sit in the parking lot. all in all I recommend this casual restaurant for a very satisfying dining experience.

First thing i noticed about this place are the great decorations and small arcade area. I’ve always passed by it because of how crowded it can be, but I’m glad I decided to try it for dinner one night. I had the wings and my friends ordered some burgers. The menu is simple enough with traditional American cuisine of Burgers, ribs, fries, salads, wings, and an assortment of fried appetizers. But where it shines is in the sauce department. At least a dozen delicious sauces ranging from mild to triple atomic(super hot sauce but with a nice hint of fruity sweetness). Make sure to come when it’s not biker week though. It’s always packed when they come around.

Been coming to the Thursday night car show for years… Looks forward to having dinner during the show… usually always have the wings because they are the best… been to the lunch buffet too and if your hungry it’s well worth it… plenty of prepared food and you can order an unlimited number of wings that they bring out to you with whatever floor you desire… the fries and onion rings are good too… and the beer is cold… check it out

Atmosphere & Service outstanding. but the food was terrible: The drinks tasted like 10% alcohol. Ordered a gold Margaret it was ok maybe 30% alcohol & lots of ice. The BoomBoom shrimp came in a styrofoam egg carton. The sauce on it was sooooo salty I asked for some sweet BBQ sauce to cut it. The onion rings were nothing special. Their sauce was too vinegary. The steak kabobs were tough. Based on the food it tasted & appeared like it was prepackaged & frozen coming from Corporate to be like a high class McDonald’s. Will never return nor go to ANY of their chain locations. There are by far much better restaurants.

My boss told me these were the best wings in the South. The atmosphere on a Friday night is festive and loud. Very friendly waitstaff coming in. Wings were delicious. Highly recommend!

Quaker Steak is certainly an interesting place. You walk into this large space filled with auto sport memorabilia from the ceilings to the walls. It’s like nascar procreate with hello angels and had their own version of a Bennigans but with better food. They are known for their crispy crunchy wings with a variety of flavors. There are about 10 or so different flavors for every level of heat you’re looking for. I think my favorite so far is the golden garlic but i have not yet scratched the surface so I’m sure that’ll change. They have a weekday lunch buffet with fried chicken, fried fish, boneless buffalo wings, mashed potatoes and a small soup and salad bar. The quality of the buffet is eh, but it’s a great deal for 9.99 especially when it includes all you can eat wings fresh to order. However, you only get 4 or 8 at a time so you wanna make sure you order a new batch every time the waitress brings your last order out. Service is great and is always with a smile. I am definitely looking forward to coming back for their next jeeps vs. Mustangs event!

Went to Quaker Steak for the motorcycle expo. Had a wonderful time. Lots of vendors and great entertainment. After walking around looking at the vendors, bikes and freezing we decided to go in to warm up and get something to eat. Let me start by saying for such a big event service was great. The waiter was quick and kept checking back with us. Kitchen was keeping up with the volume. Hubby and I both ordered a bowl of potatoe soup. It was good but I was a little disappointed in the portion size for the price.

I decided to meet up with my fiancé for lunch one day, and this place is right across the street from where he works so close for his shorter lunch break. It was a regular weekday so it wasn’t really busy at all. I didn’t know this was an Ohio-based place, but it was apparent upon walking in what with all the Ohio sports memorabilia. Anyway, service was just alright. I don’t think any waiter is excited to be working lunches during the week because I can imagine it would be pretty slow. Either way, we started out with the pretzels and the beer cheese sauce. They were just ok, the pretzels were pretty chewy and the sauce was very salty. My fiancé opted to get the wings(don’t remember what flavors) and I got the Crispy Chicken Sliders, which were actually pretty good with the crispy chicken and cole slaw. This seems like it would be an alright place to watch a game or two(since this is definitely a sports bar) and they seemed to have some pretty good specials as well. Overall not an amazing place, but definitely better than most. «A-OK” — just how Unilocal describes 3 stars.

I’ve driven past this place many times in the past, and I always thought, «Why would anybody want to eat at a place with LUBE in the restaurant name?» But I was pleasantly surprised! We came here on a weeknight, so it wasn’t too busy. We were served right away and the food was pretty decent. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. Chicken tenders were on a smallish side, but still very good. No gristle and fried perfectly. The fries were definitely above-average, but not completely outstanding. They also have great drink specials, many different kind of mixed drinks and pricing is average; not too much, but not very cheap. The atmosphere inside is pretty original. Lots and lots of NASCAR and racing decorations and memorabilia. When I walked in, I thought they may have a dress code requiring you to wear a confederate flag tee shirt. Kidding, it wasn’t that hillbilly. It was actually different, and interesting. It was too cold to sit at the bar outside, but for an outdoor bar at a chain restaurant attached to a La Quinta, it looked pretty fun with a great setup. I’d definitely be back. Just please take«lube» out of the title.

I come hear every Sunday for the Browns games as it is iur home base for our Browns backers group. I will say that they are very accommodating. They are very well staffed for everyone of the games even when they arent suppose to be open for Thurday night games. I worked at the Qsl in Cleveland a while back so I am very familiar with the food. Always great wings! This particular Quaker is large and has a nice outdoor area. The drink prices are pretty high. Feels very much like a corporate place even though there isnt that many of them. That is really the only negative thing I can say is that drinks are extremely over priced. Other than that, this place is great for games and has some pretty good food as well.

Quaker Steak is nothing special, but has an interesting«car» theme that adds some fun. The food is typical bar food, including chicken wings, burgers, fries, etc. Chances are good you will find something you will like and be happy with it. Quaker Steak often has live music, car show, bike shows and the like — it’s an interesting place that hosts some fun events.

Quaker Steak, despite the name, is really a top shelf place for wings. They have over 30 flavors of wings varying from mild to triple atomic. So if you like wings, or burgers its excellent. The atmosphere is really kitsch with real race cars bolted to the ceiling. Totally fun. I’ve been a couple times so I opted to try the baby back ribs and wings combo. My wife opted for the sirloin. We got the wedge salad with blue cheese crumbles and avocado ranch to share and pretzel with beer cheese appetizer. The beer cheese was quite tasty with the warm pretzel really warning us up from the cold rain. The salad was fresh and tasty, with fresh bacon My ribs were lackluster and small, but the Louisiana licking sauce was tasty on them, if you care for sweet bbq. My wings were excellent having an Asian ginger dry run on them giving a pleasant zing like huli huli sauce. Her steak was done properly but sadly covered in toooo much salt and pepper. I would not recommend.

Either it’s been too long since I last had Quaker or they were just having an off day. We had the boneless wings and the onion rings. The onion rings were good but a bit over battered. They also weren’t as crispy as I remember. The wings were just okay. They were warm(borderline cold) and also over battered. The customer service was great. No complaints there.

Greetings. We just happened to be in the ‘hood after finishing a photoshoot at Freedom Lake Park across the street. I’ve had Quaker’s wings before– years ago– and they were so good! The dry rubbed wings were not exactly what we liked but by adding a side of sauce, they were quite good. Justin did not like his shrimp tacos– he said they didn’t taste fresh. :( I ordered the wedge salad, because I love wedge salads, and that was on point. We would come back but order different items. We were just too hot to order anything that we had to get sauce all over our hands for, or be burning up from hot sauce plus the weather, lol. At that point, I would update my review. Oh and not to mention, the car shows! We definitely have to come see one of those.

I used to be a regular at Quaker Steak and Lube in Pinellas Park when I lived in St. Pete. This is the place to go if you love beer and wings! I personally prefer the dusted chipotle BBQ wings. The interior décor of this place is all about cars and motorcycles, with many cars and bikes hanging from the walls and ceiling. Quaker Steak has plenty of regular events such as car and truck shows. However, the main event is Wednesday night bike night! Being a motorcycle enthusiast myself, I used to go to bike night whenever I could!

Been wanting to check this out for sometime after always passing by and seeing the bright green neon lights & race cars in the front as i zip by whenever i’m in St.Pete. Upon entering in you see the remnants of a oil change, gas station which is a pretty cool theme for a sports bar. They have video games and crane games in the entrance & even have a cool looking race car as a décor hoisted up on a lift that you can eat under(cool!). Also, the owners i believe are from Ohio which makes this place an ideal location to watch any OHIO team(OSU, Browns, Indians) games. When you look at the menu, what sticks out immediately is their wing selection. They have many sauces to try and boast as having the best in the area. They even have a wing eating challenge which looked awesome but i don’t think id ever have the stomach to finish! When we ordered I can say that not only are there wings very flavorful, but are also huge! A little weird that you aren’t told how many come in a particular order because they price them by weight(?) but def one of the tastiest and biggest wings i have ordered in quite some time. I loved the crisp of each chicken wing and also that they didn’t overly drown out their wings with globs and globs of sauce. We orders ours half Thaisian(blend of Asian Sesame & Sweet Thai flavor w/kick of chili powder + garlic) & Golden Garlic and they were both outstanding. … and as an added bonus they give a hand full of twizzlers with the bill ! If your def in the mood for Wings and beer come check this place out and try their award winning wings !
