This place forgot to put in my order. Had to wait over 45 minutes to get my food. Brutal experience and bad service overall.

Awful… We went on cinco de mayo and even though they had a dj scheduled, there were only 2 servers. The floors, tables, walls and bathroom looked like they’d never been cleaned, and our food took an hour(not exaggerating… maybe more.) when our food finally came, mine was ice cold and my bfs food was warm, which lead me to believe that mine was left out a while… beware! The food might be good, but I got the check as soon as I got it.

This place is dirty and the service is slow and awful. The food was bland and over-priced. The chicken on the sopes had zero seasoning, zero. Even the beans and rice were not seasoned. I ordered a margarita which tasted terrible and it had red pieces of plastic in it. When I complained to the waitress, she told me they were red pepper flakes, there is no way that is true. Save your money, time and gastrointestinal tract, eat somewhere else.

Based on the Unilocal reviews, I had high hopes but no one prepared me for the sheer loudness of this place. It was like stepping into an 80s nightclub, no joke. The service was so so. The lady was hard to come by and with the noise levels, you couldn’t exactly say«excuse me», so you just had to hope she would look your way if you needed something. The steak tostada was good, the only good thing about this place. The beef was seasoned well, the tostada was nice amd crisp, the avocado on top was fresh. Tostadas are a messy thing to eat, everything falls everywhere. When my tostada came out, I received no utensils nor napkins. It wasn’t until my boyfriend’s burrito came out(15 mins later, and 2 tostadas in) that we received their spicy salsa sauce and napkins and utensils. The burrito was nice and hot, but really nothing to write home about. The service was lacking, the atmosphere was severly lacking, and that steak tostada was their only saving grace to 2 stars.

Tom T. Does a great job describing the atmosphere. I think he really wanted to give them a 3.5 but he gave them a 4. I am giving a 3 to balance his rating. I went in a Wednesday night and was the only Gringo. I could barely understand the waitress. Her service was good, but she didn’t go out of her way to be nice. She was a real person. I got the Carne Asada. The corn tortillas were fantastic and plentful and hot. The steak had good flavor and was tough as expected. The delicious grilled onions were buried under the large portion of meat. Both the green and red sauce are really tasty. The red had a smokey Chipotle flavor. I would mix them. I would go back to this, but will say it or stress woke me in the middle of the night.

Tom Terrific here with another honest restaurant review. authentic in every way including the dingy ceiling and walls, floors littered with paper but delicious Mexican food. my server arrived, a young latina woman overly made up and chubby with a cropped shirt and over hanging stomach and thin white shorts so tiny and tight her butt cheeks were visible. just sayin’ I had the steak, cheese, bacon and jalapenos with refried beans, rice, lettuce and tomato wedges. it came in very nice presentation in a rose colored platter, $ 10.50. I was quibbling with giving 3 stars but I remembered my numerous vacations in Acapulco in the 80’s and the real Mexican restaurants I ate at where the tourists never went on the other side of the hill. they were dirty too but the food was great so I went with 4 stars. a drunk girl dropped a big mug of beer on the floor and the pieces went everywhere and no one seemed to care. the beer and shattered pieces lay there for a long time. there was no paper towels in the washroom machine. I used some napkins on my table to dry my hands. children were running a playing everywhere. after a table of seven left at a nearby table, the dirty dishes laid there for my entire meal. but the food was good! judge for yourself.

Don’t bother. Just wanted queso, salsa and chips. They were out of queso(are you kidding?), chips were dense and hard, salsa was puréed and too hot to eat, not the fresh tomato chunks and onion I’m used to. We won’t be back!

The restaurant wasn’t like most places I’ve been to. It was kinda dark and dirty felling but, for some reason I’ve kept going. The waitress was really nice and did a great job. I ordered a soda, it came in a can with no ice but since the place doesn’t look too clean I didn’t care that I didn’t get a glass or ice. The chips I ordered were homemade. They were different than I’ve ever tasted. A bit crunchy and thicker but, still good. The salsa was also different but really flavorful and a little bit of nice spice. I ordered what I thought was steak enchiladas. It was nicely presented but, the steak was just on top of the tortilla and cheese. Once again nothing I had experienced but still good. When I went into the restaurant there were quite a few guys all under 25 or so. It was kind of weird feeling. I would go again. The food and service was good it was all just different.

We got there about 9:30pm waitress asked for our drinks takes 15 min to bring our drinks then when we start to order food she says«oh sorry we are out of almost everything we don’t have any gorditas, tacos» would of Been nice if she told us this before taking our drinks. Another thing I didn’t like was they don’t give chips and salsa. The meat was to chewy and dry.

Very delicioso urban Mexican cuisine. Tortas, tacos, sopes and other goodies including various specials. The place is authentic and a bit intimidating but take the plunge. Dark disco feeling interior. Musica. We had the«gringa», an al pastor enchilada of sorts with lots of two kinds of melted cheeze, fresh real avocado and grilled, greasy, crispy goodnes. Yummm. Crispy Cajun is in the same strip mall in case you want to pair with gumbo, beignets and catfish.

Food was extremely dry and distasteful. My boyfriend ordered enchiladas and it was just a container with mix stuff nothing like it should have looked. It was gross. Ordered rice and wasn’t given it, had to to go back. But you couldn’t take a bite of rice without needing to take a glass of water with it to be able to swallow. Never going back.

Are you kidding me?! I’ve lived in Clearwater for the last eight years and I’ve never heard of this place??? That’s practically a sin. Kind of a dingy place when you walk in, where you practically have to be Mexican to order anything on the menu. I tried the Gorditas — Chicken and chipotle sausage. Very good but will do without the added iceberg lettuce. Then we had Campachano tacos which were amazingly tasty. The Mexican Steak takes the prize though. OH My God!!! I couldn’t have asked for anything more juicy, tasty and just all around delicious. It was basically epic to put it mildly. The green sauce goes with everything though my fiancé found it a little spicy. Perfect for my buds though. Go go go. You won’t regret it. My new favorite place. Will be back many times to try everything on the menu. It was that good :))

Hands down, the best Gorditas I’ve very had! Found this place thanks to Unilocal — I would never have found this gem otherwise! Will be back again soon… For sure!

I was brand spanking new to tampa bay and looking for a new amazing mexican spot. Thanks to Unilocal i found this little gem. It is located in a dark little plaza and At first i was concerned it was closed. To the left you see like a Cantina style bar and the rest is restaurant style. They have telemundo on their TV with no volume… you can see some pretty dramatic tele novelas on screen. The music & atmosphere could use some improvement. We were the only ones there on a weeknight around 9:45pm. We started off with two Modelo beers(sans lemon) and i decided to order cheese enchilada while my fiancé ordered Gorditas. He was floored because it was and all homemade gordita that was pretty authentic– and he should know since he has been to mexico. The cheese enchilada was amazing and the portion was big. FYI my fiancéé and i LOVE salsa verde… so delicious. I can’t wait to go back for some more.

The reasons why I like this place … They use fresh ingredients Fresh made tortillas Fresh avocado Homemade hot sauces I like the fact they use Queso Fresco instead of American Cheddar too. Another good sign that this is a good Mexican restaurant… everyone inside the place that was eating was Mexican. You never see Mexican people in more Americanized Mexican restaurants. I really liked my steak tostadas. They had a nice little layer of everything on it. Beans, steak, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and Mexican Crema(sour cream) I loved their homemade Hot sauces. Verde and Chipotle. I used the Verde more because it’s my favorite, and I must say even though I don’t like Chipotle flavor that much, I did use it for one of my tostadas because it was that good. Both flavorful with just the right amount of kick. All these things bring my review to a 4. The only thing people might not like about this place is that they blare the music very loud! I read in previous reviews that this place is half cantina maybe, but when I was there around 7 there wasn’t anything going on so I’m not sure when that begins, BUT it sure didn’t keep them from having the music pumping. Very Loud! I will keep this place on my lists to eat, I enjoyed it and my server was very nice.

When one of the previous reviewers stated that they had the best burrito, I knew I had to come check this place out. Let’s start with the ambience, half nightclub, half restaurant, in need of some repairs. This may be a turnoff for some people, but to me it meant I was going to get some authentic grub. The waitress was very friendly, but the food seemed to take a bit longer coming out than I would have expected considering the restaurant was mostly empty, but it wasn’t a major wait, so no big deal. Now for the food. I ordered the bistec burrito. It was good, and it was filling, but this was in no way the best burrito that I’ve ever had. Ymmv. All in all, I would give this place another shot. Based solely on the food thus far, I’d give it a three. The friendly waitress and authentic atmosphere bump it to a four.

Lately, I have been on a quest to find the best authentic Mexican food in town. After finding this gem on Unilocal,I had to go over for lunch STAT. As others have said, the building itself is nothing special(a weird mix of half nightclub, half restaurant, but plenty of booths and tables to seat many people, so that was good), but in all honestly I didn’t come here for the environment, I came for the grub! Based on others suggestions, I went with the burrito with bistec. The waitress was friendly, helpful and spoke English(although I speak Spanish so doesn’t make a difference to me). When the meal arrived a short time later, I couldn’t resist any longer. This was truly the BEST burrito I have ever had in my life. Filled with bistec with grilled onions, avocado cubes, tomato, fresh cilantro, rice and beans along with a side of sour cream and green spicy sauce made this a heavenly concoction. It was literally so melty, cheesy and delicious I wish I had 2 stomachs to eat some more :0 Sadly I was stuffed after having just one of these monstrous burritos. I wish I had been able to leave my love for mexican food in the past year, because this place will be bad for my waistline and healthy eating resolutions, but WOW is it fantastic. I’ll be back for sure.
