Stopped on the way from Seattle to CDA. Easy to get to off I-90. Lots of parking. Bright, clean and spacious inside; lots of booths and tables, plus a counter area. Best feature: COKE, not Pepsi! We both ordered the French Toast combo — two slices of French toast, one egg and FIVE slices of bacon! Interesting to note that the combo is $ 10.99. Or, you could order the exact same thing in pieces — two slices of French Toast for $ 4.69, a side of bacon for $ 4.99, and one egg for $.99 and save $ 0.32!($ 10.67 all together). Everything was delicious! Crispy bacon, egg perfectly cooked, and thick toast with warm syrup. Service was quick and super friendly!

Gina our server is awesome! Quick friendly service. Split the kids meal without me asking for it. No extra charge. Kids ate everything! French toast was really good and not greasy. Veggie omelette clean tasting not a Grease pool at the bottom of your plate. Hashbrowns were fresh. Bacon nice and crispy. We had breakfast here after staying in Suncadia. We go to Suncadia often but this is our first time at the cottage Café. Will come again and again. Gina thank you for the awesome service! If you are regular, they do a birthday and anniversary mailing. You get a certificate for every person’s birthday. You can use it anytime without restrictions. Wow… They are so sweet;)

Worst chicken fried steak ever!!! It looks and tastes like they took an old hamburger patty, breaded it and call it chicken fried steak. We are a family of four and we have never spent $ 70($ 80 w/tip) on breakfast even with drinks.

The food here is great! I’ve only been here once, and I can tell that the French toast is the best thing on the menu!

Before I start, the food was absolutely amazing here!!! I got here a little before 11am and the place was probably only about ¼ filled. I really enjoyed the atmosphere inside, it definitely projected that homestyle cooking motif. I have to give praise to our waiter, Jennifer, who was such a wonderful human. She was easy going, talkative, and genuinely happy. Also it’s the little things I really appreciate about people and she had such a positive and fun attitude — I was still mulling over the menu when she came back and she asked if I was ready to order, I said«mm 5 more minutes!» «Are you sure you need 5? Maybe I should give you 10(:?» «I *should* be good with 5!» And a few minutes later she came back and I let her know I was ready and she said«Really? Cause I think it was only 4 ½ minutes c:» I laughed and she laughed it set the foundation for a laid back, casual and enjoyable meal. Friendly banter like that is a quality that you rarely see in restaurants. Maybe it was because they weren’t busy but the Cottage Café wins points on a friendly staff. She was awesome! Now for the food! I got the Hawaiian Delight which is an omelette with diced ham, swiss cheese, fresh mushrooms and pineapple. It came with hash browns and toast but I had a craving for pancakes so I asked if I could sub pancakes for the toast and I told her if there was any additional charge, I would definitely pay it — I just wanted some yummy pancakes. To my surprise, she informed me they could do a straight sub and it wouldn’t cost me extra! I think this was the first place I’ve been too where it didn’t cost extra to sub pancakes for the toast which made me ohhh so happy! Food came, HUGEPORTIONS! The omelette was fantastic! They put a large amount of ham inside it which was superb and I loved the pineapple/mushroom combo, tasted so good! And the swiss cheese was melted on top compared to other places that have the cheese inside the omelette but I really liked this layout better. It wasn’t smothered with cheese but it was just enough to be enjoyable! And oh boy… those pancakes. some of the absolute best pancakes I’ve ever eaten! They were warm, soft, moist, fluffy, buttery, and with a drizzle of syrup, they melted in my mouth. Words cannot give enough praise to those pancakes! Also, my Hawaiian Delight omelette was only 10.99! Amazing price for the huge portions! I could of easily cut my omelette in half, cut my hash browns in half, ate only one of the pancakes and would of been plenty full, but of course, I ate all the food because it was phenomenal. But it’s definitely filling! Finally, I bought a homemade apple crisp to eat after my meal. Probably wasn’t the smartest idea because I was already completely stuffed but when it came out. surprised again at the large portion — it was a legit big piece of apple crisp for only 4.99! I was with mom and dad and we easily split the crisp 3 ways. The warm, sugary apple slices where cut into huge chunks which I LOVED. Apples were so warm and soft and the topping was heavenly! After we left, we immediately started discussing reasons to drive up to this area in the not so distance future so we could eat here again! This place is a gem. The staff was fun and friendly, the food was mouth watering and delicious, and the portions were substantial. Overall I’m so glad I stopped in — a wonderful place to fill your belly — or in my case, over fill it :)

ROCKSTAR!!! The pros… Service is awesome and very friendly, you go into a very local place and I am always a bit apprehensive. No need here, friendly prompt service with a smile. The food– One of the best breakfast places I have been to. I got the chicken fried steak which was not your typical chicken fried steak but delicious. Ample parking and great prices topped it off. I will be back whenever possible for another meal. Then cons… I’ve got nothin’

Greasy spoon? Nah. Outstanding home style cooking in my opinion. A friend gave me the scoop on this establishment so had to try it out while in town. As luck would have it we were overnighting across the street. This is a throwback to the old style diners. No nonsense servers, friendly but to the point. Booths, tables, and yes, counter seating. I had my standard chicken fried steak dinner and this one is really, really good. Tender meat, no chewies, and sitting on top of house made gravy. The dinner also came with mashed potatoes, sautéed zucchini, dinner roll, and a generous salad. The dinner was a full one that was excellent from start to finish. My wife had the hot turkey dinner which had similar sides. She loved hers as well. As we each took our first bite we looked up and smiled at each other. That look of ‘holy cow this is good’. Desert was strawberry-rhubarb pie and blackberry pie. Both were homemade and wow good. If you want ice cream with it they use soft serve. It is perfect in this application. The prices here are a bit more than most diners. Our total bill with sodas was just under $ 50. You could choose different dinner options to save some money. Here’s the thing. I have been to restaurants where I have spent double that and been less satisfied. This meal was just outstanding and worth every penny.

Classic fresh dinner salad. Ask for the blue cheese which has chunks of cheese. The special was prime rib. Stunningly good with a $ 7.00 Maker’s Mark Manhattan. Husband got a burger as big as his head and with twice fried fries. We will be buying a pie to go. 5 stars!

Good ol‘ Home Cookin and large portions served by the friendliest waitresses around. Lots of Room to park your RV or Tractor Trailer. Overnight parking and has a separate lounge. Great open environment with lots of room for a big group or large family get together.

The food came fast and was delicious! The hash browns had that perfect ratio of crisp brown to warm hash in the middle. This place is great and a must for breakfast while you’re in the area.

Greasy Silver Spoon I don’t get this place, it’s just a roadside greasy spoon with a truck parking lot to one side but has prices more like fine dining. Their COLD sandwiches are between $ 12 and $ 15! The food is not special and is actually on the sadder side of eating. Perhaps it has to do with their pies, which are the only positive things to say about this place.

Cottage Café is a gem. At the opposite end of town it is overlooked by most of the tourists but frequented by locals. It’s the kind of place where you hear«Hi, Bob» as Bob walks through the door with his foam dome trucker hat. The kind of place where the waitress makes conversation with a family at the table. Where you might see a man say a small prayer before diving in to his generous plate of biscuits and gravy. It’s a good-life, American values place. The service is always friendly and accommodating to our large party(we take up two booths) and you will not leave hungry. As mentioned in the previous reviews, the dessert is off the chain. Here’s a tip: If you want a great pie they will make them for takeout if you call ahead. Amy is the baker’s name, and she’ll make you any kind of pie at a ridiculously good price. We bought two from her for a birthday party and they were a huge hit. So far we’ve tried strawberry rhubarb(the best), chocolate cream, peanut butter chocolate cream, and lemon meringue — all amazing. Get on their mailing list and they’ll send you a $ 10 off coupon on your birthday and anniversary. It’s cute and quaint — and it works.

Nice café reminiscent of the old days. Gorgeous pies await your drool. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is great and service was friendly and efficient. They have lots of pull tabs if that interests you. Daughter had homemade corned beef hash, wish I had ordered it and glad she shared it! Mom had soup and sandwich. She said the turkey was fresh and she enjoyed it. Husband had the amazing chili burger. Boy had grilled cheese. He liked it but liked the tater tots the best! We can’t wait to visit again! Any drive from Seattle to Lake Chelan or Leavenworth needs to include a stop here.
