It was good not my favorite but good. I would definitely give it another try.

First time here. The space itself is a little boring but not bad. Sushi was great and the service was good. All and all a solid choice for good sushi

I ordered through their delivery service grabbed my food came in a timely manner. I had requested that I receive one pair of Chopsticks and extra soy sauce in my to-go bag comma I opened my bag and there was nothing. I had ordered instead of going to pick up myself because I was busy at work and could not get out of the office. Instead now I had to leave work to go get soy sauce and Chopsticks so I didn’t have to eat with my bare hands. Rolls also look much different then when I’ve had them at the st. Charles location. Needless to say I’m very disappointed in their takeout service all order should come with soy sauce and Chopsticks as it is sushi rolls.

Yeah for happy hour. Everything was just OK(tempura, gyoza, tofu, grilled fish cheeks, and a bunch of rolls) but if you order at happy hour there are great deals(½ price appetizers and 2 for 1 rolls — though they charge for all the more expensive ones) and the beer is $ 2. That makes me happy.

I’ve popped in here a couple times to get sushi to go. Always prompt and friendly. Sushi is good. I generally get a veggie roll and shrimp friend rice. They don’t actually have a regular order of friend rice, just a side order, so sometimes I have to get 2, but it’s not the end of the world. I’ve also had a noodle dish, which I was disappointed in and wouldn’t get again. The spicy edamame is REALLY hot. Uneatable to me. The regular is good though. But stick to the sushi and rice and you can’t go wrong.

The ambiance here was nice. I went on a weekday happy hour and was one of a few tables in the restaurant. Thus, my waitress was attentive and fast. The rolls are priced right during happy hour. I wouldn’t pay regular price for them. They were well crafted, but I didn’t really enjoy my spicy tuna, it didn’t have much flavor.

Came here for happy hour on a Thursday night right when it opened at 5pm. We were seated quickly and we perused the happy hour menu while I ordered a hot tea. During happy hour, they have a great selection of buy one get one free rolls, a few discounted appetizers, and nigiri is half off. Me and my friend ordered 4 rolls and 4 orders of nigiri. I misunderstood the menu because I thought each order of nigiri was only one piece instead of 2 and that we would get buy one get one free also. We ordered: 2 — 2 piece salmon nigiri 2 — 2 piece tuna nigiri 1 rasta roll — mango, jalapeño, tuna, avacado 1 crazy roll — tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and avacado 1 alaska roll — california roll with salmon on top 1 clayton roll — spicy crunch roll, seared tuna, grilled fajitas Overall, I think the clayton roll was the best 4.5÷5 and the crazy roll was just behind it 4/5, but they were pretty average rolls you could probably get at any sushi bar. The alaska roll was pretty plain 3⁄5 and the rasta roll was just a very strange combination 2⁄5. Both the nigiri were not very good. The quality of the fish wasn’t too great 2⁄5. The presentation of the sushi was great though 5⁄5! I really enjoyed how they served all the rolls in one big sushi tray and presented it very uniquely. Also, the service was great and I really enjoyed the self-serve hot tea dispenser. We got four rolls and four orders of nigiri for under $ 40. Pretty good for St. Louis, but also we could’ve just gone to Sushi Ai for their AYCE sushi special at $ 20 per person. But it’s a much wider selection than Drunken Fish’s happy hour. If I came back I would just get a couple rolls and no nigiri, and only at happy hour because it’s a good deal.

Okay, I was really excited about going here for the first time. Took my wife and daughter with me. I read bad reviews about this location but I’m the guy who always gives the benefit of the doubt and figured, «aww, can’t be that bad right.» Boy was I wrong!!! For appetizer I ordered veggie rolls and soft shell crab, veggie rolls were actually good, soft shell crab was scalded and tasted more of a fried cockroach-sent that back. The miso soup was really salty but only okay in taste, the salad that came with my main dish had a mustard dressing on it that tasted as if –get ready– a must sack had been opened and squirted over it, it was horrible. I said to myself I would like meet the person who actually eats and like this, seriously. My sushi came out, which the lady got my order wrong and had to go back, the sushi was merely average and not as fresh to my liking. I ordered the spicy chicken fried rice dish and had to smother sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce before I could actually force myself to finish it. by now I’m wondering how are they still in business… last but worst of all, I had to fight a small invasion of knats at my table the whole time to keep them from eating my food before I could. When I told the waiter, she just kind of laughed and mumbled something, I didn’t even care to understand her, there’s absolutely no excuse!!! Obviously my wife didn’t enjoy the food, the best thing we tasted was their house sweet and sour sauce, that’s it. With that being said, the only way I would go back here is to pick up a side of the s&s sauce for some eggrolls that I’d purchase elsewhere. I’m usually the guy who thinks people are being too picky when they give bad reviews. but they have made a believer out of me… pleeeeeeease stay away from this place!

What can I say other than DELICIOUS. I was looking through groupon the other night and stumbled across a great deal for wasabi sushi. I hadn’t been here so I purchased the groupon. This is now my «go to» for sushi. The«playboy» roll is so amazing. Very fresh tasting. The fried philly roll is divine. The smoked salmon and cream cheese mix so well. I did ask for spicy mayo to dip the fried Philly roll in. No complaints. Clean, comfortable atmosphere, very polite staff, and great sushi.

A decent fairly priced sushi house in a good neighborhood. The fish seemed fresh and the service friendly.

Third terrible experience at Wasabi: mixed up orders followed by all manner gastrointestinal distress. Loved the place before it was bought up by the chain(that’s when the menus became plastic picture books, for anyone else who remembers). It’s so sad to see it become to Japanese food what Taco Bell is to Mexican food. Stay away unless you value hours spent inthe bathroom as a chaser!

After returning from an all-inclusive Mexican resort with endless sushi brought to my pool chair at any hour of the day, I needed a fix! My first experience here was 2 thumbs up. I bought a Groupon for $ 30 worth of sushi, and the staff was very helpful in saying to make sure to order $ 32 worth or else they can’t honor it.(or else you’ll have to order a roll to-go after your meal) Either way, we spent about 38 bucks. We shared Wasabi goons, chicken fried rice, a shrimp tempura roll, a philly roll, and a California hand roll… can you tell I’m a newb? :). I literally had to ask the waiter how to eat the hand roll. And he didn’t treat me like a complete moron(bonus!). This place is a bit of a drive for me, and although I have a favorite sushi spot closer, I might just return for happy hour sometime. By the way if you’re wondering… you pick it up out of the block and bite in to it like an ice cream cone!

My fiancé & I were craving sushi and we had a great experience the last time we came here, so we decided to come back… big mistake. 1. We had been seated for about 5 – 10 minutes & no one had come to our table yet. I would of understood if they were super busy, but there were only a few other tables that were occupied. Then of course a couple that was seated after us were asked for their drink order & we were still ignored for a few more minutes. 2. After we finally got our drinks, the server asked if we would like any appetizers & as I was saying no she walked away. Wow. Okay. — My fiancé was ready to walk out after that, but I convinced him to stay & I regret that. 3. We ordered 4 pieces of Unagi, the Caterpillar roll, & the M&B II roll… and when the server brought our sushi, we were missing the Unagi. I informed her a couple minutes later we were missing an item & she was nice about it, apologized, & placed the order for us. Overall: The sushi this time around was pretty bland & we did not really care for it. And the service was terrible. We should of just went to Oishi or Drunken Fish… that’s what we get for wanting to stay close to our house. Oh well. We will not be returning.

Stopped in after a 6 mile run… I knew exactly what I wanted the Chirashi bowl(protein packed perfection). A low maintenance type visit so there’s not much ado about this one. The presentation was beautiful and everything tasted delicious. I also decided to try the new Mermaid Roll which was advertised at the door. A delight! Very filling roll topped with octopus. I sat in the back bar top area solo; I like to eat in solitude sometimes. My server was a nice young lady. The sushi chef smiled and thanked me for coming in once I got up to leave. Ladies room was nice, neat & decorated accordingly. I’ll be back.

We went for a late lunch, and were the only customers at the time, so we were seated promptly and the servers were fairly attentive(but don’t expect super friendly or fantastic service). We ordered 3 rolls, Alaskan, Windy City and Fox. The Alaskan roll(California roll topped with Salmon) was really mediocre – the salmon was by no means fresh and had a loose texture. The Windy City roll(scallop and cucumber) was drizzled with a sauce so sweet and strong that it completely overwhelmed the mild taste of the scallop. The Fox roll(tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado) was good, and the tempura shrimp tasted like it had just been made. But again, there was a fairly strong, sweet sauce on it. We parked in the(paid) garage about a block down. There is some street parking in front of the restaurant, but it is a busy area. If there was parking closer by, I would consider getting takeout, but probably wouldn’t if I had to pay for parking.

Wow, seriously best sushi ever. You walk in and see their awards for being dubbed the best sushi restaurant in St. Louis, and you question how good sushi can be when it’s just fish rolled up in rice. My group sat down and we immediately ordered drinks. The menu was hard to navigate through at first. But once we figured it out, everything sounded and looked so appetizing. Most sushi places don’t include realistic pictures of their rolls, but just by looking at them you could tell they were authentic. Each roll sounded so extravagant and tempting to try, that I ended up getting a combination that offers three rolls and an appetizer or either miso soup or a salad. I had a crunch roll, tuna rolls, and shrimp tempura roll. Their rolls were so large that I got full halfway through, but I kept on eating because it was too good to resist. I tried their fried rice, which is also one of the most impressive styles I had. Most places just take brown rice, dab some soy sauce on it, and call it fried. This place used normal white rice and the texture of it just crumbles in your mouth. It was so delicious! The only reason why I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was almost finished with my dish by the time they brought out the drinks.

They use more rice on their sushi than grocery store takeout and all you can eat sushi bars. I would not recommend anything but the Nigori Saki and edamame. We spent over $ 120 for our meal and left a large portion of it on the table. The scallops were not fresh. The«smoked eel» was disgusting in the roll we ordered. After that the Salmon Avocado, which is usually a decent roll anywhere you go was not edible. And it just continued to get worse… Our order included edamame, zaru soba, white tuna, salmon, crab, ami ebi(raw shrimp), scallops, octopus, salmon avocado roll, st. louis roll, and some smoked eel roll. I’m pretty sure we paid for a negi toro roll and never got it. This was our second bad experience here and we will not return.

Wasabi is one of my favorite sushi places in Saint Louis. I’ve always had fresh fish and while I know it’s unconventional I love the mushrooms in the miso! I’m not a fan of the staff. Since the management change a few years ago I’ve been disappointed by my Wasabi visits. The hostess is sulky and really doesn’t dress appropriately for her job. The manager is also grouchy and rarely interacts with or checks on customers. The servers are just okay. I love the food, just not the service at this location. The good news is there are other Wasabis in Saint Louis to visit.
