Very good spot in the downtown of clayton, its probably the most upscale restaurant in town, Ed the owner is a great guy and always making sure his customers are happy. The food and drinks is very good here and if you can sit outside on a warm day or get dinner during one of the concerts in the park(every other Saturday in the summer months) you’ll really have a great time.

Went for dinner the other night. Plenty of seating but when they asked if I had a reservation and I said no(it was 5:30) she kind of made a face and acted like they were doing me a favor. Ok, weird. Their specialty, according to the menu, is Prime Rib. I asked how it was prepared and was told it was flavorful with a rock salt crust, and very tender. I ordered it medium rare which, according to their own menu, says it means red, warm center. So the prime rib comes out medium to well done. The very kind server agreed with me when I complained, and sent it back. She came back with another piece which looked great, but it was horrible. It was the toughest prime rib I have ever eaten, totally chewy and lots of fat. And, it had zero flavor… zero. How could this be their specialty? I complained again, which I hate to do, but it was lousy and they are pretty pricey. So, I ordered a filet mignon. By this time, my dining partner was already finished so he got to watch me wait. When the filet came it was cooked perfectly medium rare, but again it had zero flavor. Totally disappointed. They didn’t even comp a drink or anything. Won’t be back any time soon.

The service is really good and really friendly. Never left alone or ignored. The owner walked around talking to his regulars, and greeted my BF and I(not regulars, first-timers) which I appreciated. I watched him graciously deal with a difficult table of ladies who felt entitled to the world. I tried really really really hard to like the food, but in the end it just reminded me of diner food. My steak was WAY burnt on the outside, I’m surprised it was served to me. I always get mine medium-rare. I didn’t finish it. The sides consisting of carrots and, mashed potatoes I believe? we’re boring, and apparently, not memorable. We got a bowl of chili which I think was on special. It was really really good, but it was in one of those bowls that could KINDOF pass as a steep plate. I really don’t know how to describe it, ANYWHO. The problem with that is the chili got cold FAST! Like, weirdly fast. I recommend they put it in a regular small bowl/cup so it stays warmer. I feel bad for giving it three stars without trying the place twice. It’s obviously a well run business, but I just can’t afford to pay those prices for burnt steak.

Made reservations. Was asked if was for special occasion; replied yes for my wife’s birthday and stated our first time here. Upon arrival. All good. Appetizers good Ordered for 4 people. Only 3 meals came out. Waitress never put the other order in. She seemed to not really care; and by this point I didn’t order the other meal for me. Place seemed mice but sucks to spend over 100 and leave without a meal. Still not sure why they asked if it was for a special occasion as they did nothing? Strange. It is horrible to let a waitress ruin what seems to be a nice place. We are in Keller ridge and will never come back here; I’m sure food is good and place is nice but if service is bad; I can’t come back. Sux to ruin a birthday dinner! So disappointed. Update. All you can hope for with any opportunity is someone will respond and address your concerns. Appreciate Ed responding; means a lot.

Came for date night. Made a reservation and they took us very quickly, which I’m happy about because the bar was so packed in there! Our waitress forgot to put in the order for our appetizer, but she gave us a free dessert to accommodate. Really friendly staff, even on such a packed night!

Not a bad spot to go on Taco Tuesday. Tacos come with chips and salsa for a good $ 4. The Titos(drinks) were kind of watered down. Get an extra taco instead.

Clayton is a charming little town and Moressi’s appears to be THE place for the locals to dine. I was looking forward to prime rib but unfortunately by 7:30pm it was already gone. My husband and I split a rib eye steak and chopped salad. Both are huge portions, great for sharing with price tags to match. Steak was $ 49 with two sides. We ordered baked potato and creamed spinach. The menu is fairly all America meat and potatoes simple fare, nothing nouvelle, fancy, or farm to table here. Fairly noisy ambiance because of all the patrons. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There is a front patio for nice weather. Corkage for wine is a reasonable $ 15. Samantha was a very attentive waitress with a smile. Make a reservation because the place is always full.

I didn’t get the chance to eat here, because the treatment I received walking in was so repulsive that I left in tears and would never even think to come back. I walked in with my boyfriend and the hostess and man standing next to her looked us up and down. «Can I help you.?» I told her we had a reservation and she looked like she wanted to tell us they were full for the night. Instead she told me our table wasn’t ready. I looked at both of the bars and one was full and the other had several open seats. I asked if we could sit there and have a drink while we wait for our table and the man next to her whispered loud enough for me to hear, «tell them they can only stand out here if they want to drink» so she told me, «um, you can stand here. The bar is full.» Pointing at a sad little kitchen island-looking thing with no chairs smack in the middle of the room. We just smiled and said we’d wait outside… thirty seconds later I went back in and just told them to cancel the reservation. We made a new one at Ruth’s Chris and were treated like royalty. Long story short, don’t come here unless you’re…well…They don’t like chocolate chips in their cookie.

Had our first visit here on Valentines Day at the recommendation of longtime patrons and it certainly did not disappoint. We’re very Ruth’s Chris loyal but the food at Moresi’s was simply delicious. Throw in the intimate ambiance and there’s a perfect dinner experience. Our server, Samantha was great and Ed Moresi came out and made rounds chatting with us. This will definitely not be our last visit.

Enjoyed an absolutely fabulous, pre– valentines dinner here… absolutely fabulous. My honey and I aren’t necessarily fond of the prefix menu’s most of these restaurants offer on the special love bird day, which is the reason we decided to celebrate this special day, a day before the actual heart day. We decided to check out Moresi’s, being we wanted to keep it somewhat close to home, and for the mere fact that I had driven by this place a thousand times, only to have built up a slight bit of anticipation based upon its upper class, intriguing exterior. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. Wow, this place is far more impressive interior wise, then I envisioned. It’s small and cozy, assuming it must have been a house in its prior years, though it certainly does not lack in executing the upper class, steak house environment; while remaining cozy and intimate. Love it. We were warmly greeted and assisted by who I believe was one of the owners. Our table was ready within seconds of arriving. They have an outstanding appetizer and dinner menu to choose from. They also have a fairly impressive cocktail menu as well. To start, I ordered their special gin and lemon like martini that I can’t recall the name of. It turned out great — not sweet at all, and just nice a nice zest of lemon. For an appetizer, we ordered the«Escargot». This was absolutely, outstanding in flavor, and was cooked to perfection. I love my escargot if its done right, and this was done right :) For our main digs, we both ended up ordering their«Rib Eye Steak». I requested my steak medium rare, and my honey medium. It comes with your choice of two sides. I chose one side of creamed spinage, and another of broccoli. My honey ordered creamed potato’s and frys. While waiting for our food, I ordered a dirty martini — this drink turned out perfect. And then, our steaks arrived, looking hands down, utterly delicious looking; and utterly, delicious tasting it was. The steaks were not only cooked and seasoned to a mouth water perfection, it came adorned with a dollop of garlic herb butter, that melted into and complimented the juicy wonderfulness of the steak, phenomenally… absolutely one of the best steaks both my honey and I have enjoyed in a while. Our dinner was quite pricey, however, well worth the indulgent. Our server wasn’t the most engaging server, however she was very prompt and attentive. Overall, with as outstanding as our experience here was– from the way we were greeted, to how excellent the food was, you can certainly guarantee we will be making more special dates here again :)

You should go here. Seriously. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the regulars are nice and it has a funky Gold Rush-era charm(no open-carry that I could see, though). Sunday’s specials are a particularly good buy because the price includes sides and a glass of wine for $ 20 or so. Sure, it’s a little out of the way but we got there in 30 mins from the Dublin /Pleasanton area. Not an exorbitant amount of time. In warmer weather they have a large outside dining area that looks out over the 49er-era buildings that make up this part of the town. Fun. Moresi’s Chophouse is for when you want steak, chicken, chops, ribs. Good food, good service, good price. My ribs were mouthwatering — the meat was still firmly on the rib, but pulled away without effort, and nicely seasoned with sauce. Scallops with pancetta(great addition) were flavorful and my side of broccoli was a treat — a good-sized portion that was not overdone. We will go back there. Seriously.

What a great find! Our first time there where we met Ed, the owner who was super friendly and made us feel like regular customers. 4 people for dinner: 2 different appetizers: delicious 3 filets and 1 ribeye, all cooked absolutely perfect. Perfect seasoning. Creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, broccoli, baked potato, risotto, scalloped potatoes… all sides were delicious. Crime brûlée and chocolate lava cake… insane! Oh, did I forget to say the cocktails were delicious as well? Save a trip to SF or anyplace else. Great food, good value, terrific service. This is a new favorite for us. Eat local!

I ate here lastnight with my wife, brother and sister-in-law. It was suggested by my sister-in-law and I was like«sure, lets try something new». This place is awesome. The food was outstanding, the service was above and beyond, our server was great and the owner is really nice. We will for sure be back. Thank you Ed. You have a great restaurant.

If you love craft cocktails and bartenders who actually know what they are talking about, you’ve come to the right place. This restaurant’s bar is up to par with any establishment in Walnut Creek, and in fact, blows a lot of them out of the water. Homemade syrups, bourbon cherries, and hand-stuffed blue cheese olives… just to mention a few of my favorite things. On to the food, I’m a big fan of the daily soups, the Moresi’s House Salad(which you can add shrimp or filet to make it a meal), and a number of the appetizers: crab cakes, steamed clams, grilled artichoke, bruschetta, and grilled shrimp cocktail. I like seafood, can you tell? I can’t speak a lot on the entrees because I usually find myself doing drinks and appetizers. If you’re looking for a night to just try it out, I recommend stopping by on Taco Tuesday, Wine Wednesday(½ off wine and appetizers), or the Sunday Supper.

I love prime rib. But when my Diablo cut of prime rib came out, I wad very diasppointed. To have paid $ 46 for a piece of eat with substantial fat is unexceptable. The picture speaks for itself.

This review is for Friday, October 2nd. Friday night date night! We had a reservation and were actually running a little late. Upon arrival we were seated promptly and the waitress took our drink orders after I perused the spirits menu a bit. After shifting back and forth on my decision for an entrée I settled on the lamb shank. It really was superb and although I was given a knife, I had no need for it. Well seasoned and very tender! I tasted my date’s filet minion, cooked to medium, and it was so succulent and juicy in my mouth. Delicious! Being the chocolate fiend that I am, I definitely went for the chocolate lava cake. The cake was nice and moist, not too dry or oily. The one thing that sticks out of me was the service. Service was very good, but we were asked by three different people within two minutes if we were finished eating. I understand it was late and they were trying to also make sure we weren’t just waiting for the check but it just felt a little disruptive. Overall a great place and would love to come back!

The service here when I went was impeccable. I wish I could remember the waiter’s name(he works at Ed’s Mudville as well) because he deserves the praise! The waiter here was very accommodating and made the effort to mix up a dinner and dessert that was gluten free. He even offered blankets and lit the heat lamp right away so we could sit out doors. I ordered a moscow mule to start with. This restaurant made the best one I have ever had. Their homemade syrup was delicious! I ordered the halibut and the person I was with ordered the sirloin. My halibut was good but the sirloin was cooked so perfectly that I ended up stealing his sirloin and passed over my halibut. For dessert the waiter whipped up ice cream with carmel and sea salt even though it wasn’t on their menu. Excellent service and great food and nice outdoor seating with heat lamps!
