2nd time here and I’m in love. 430pm on a Wednesday and just a few at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. The $ 7 top shelf margaritas are amazing and the chips and salsa was to die for! The quesadillas were great my first time their. The second time we ordered the platter and it was subpar :(… I will definitely come back…

I came here recently with 2 other people around 6:30pm on a Wednesday. We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. The food came out quickly. However, I was very disappointed in my crispy chicken tacos. The shells themselves were much smaller than other times that I have come in or gone to other locations. Most of the taco was filled with shredded lettuce — 80%. Also, they barely put any salsa on the tacos. The shells were not that crispy and were quite soggy at the base. I have been to this location and the one in Fremont about a year ago and the crispy chicken tacos were great. The served did not offer us a dessert selection and we had to ask for it. We ended up ordering the chocolate cake. The cake itself was nice a moist and I appreciated the fresh berries. I was not a fan of the whipped topping; it did not seem freshly made.

4 separate visits, same outcome. This is not the place for beef; $ 14 chili Colorado: tough, bland, and I could not chew threw it; others were pleased with shrimp, pork, and fish tacos. $ 4.55 small green salad had about 30 cents worth of produce and dressing. Invited, I’ll go – to be with friends and family – but, a meal will be had before, or after I go.

This me and my friends go to spot mainly because their late hours are awesome! When everything else is closed — they’re open! Till 3 am! You get tasty chips and salsa when you first sit down — great chips, and great salsa! i usually get the same thing every time, the authentic soft tacos with shrimp(under the appetizer section). It comes with 3 tacos with loads of chopped onion and cilantro and shrimp, just how i like it. The perfect little meal! Last time, they seemed to have put a frozen veggie trio of random veggies in it — of carrots, peas, and string beans. I was pretty bummed when they added that in, it just wasn’t how they used to make it! Maybe it was a new thing they were trying, but i’ll just ask for my tacos without that next time just in case. I also love to get the tostadas. The lunch portion is one tostada, and the dinner portion is 2. I ordered the dinner portion and had to take some home — they hook you up! Comes loaded with meat of your choice(for me that was shrimp), shredding lettuce, cheese, and i added cilantro and onions. It comes with a side of rice and beans as well. It’s nice and spacious and the décor is traditional. Me and my friend love going here! As stated again, late night hours for the win!!! This area has pretty much no night life… everything closes down, so this is a great exception. Great place to go with friends or family! Good for large groups as well. ALSO — get the horchata! It’s so good and they give it to you in a large glass :)

Come here ever once in a while, always good food. Can be a bit noise due to the large open room. Price is about right. Good size plates.

Fun place to drink at with friends or co workers in downtown Concord and they stay open til 3AM. The drinks here are strong! I always order this strawberry milkshake like drink with rum in it, sounds weird but it’s so delicious! It gets super pricey and the food is ok. I’ve tried the appetizer platter, carne asada burrito and ceviche. Parking here sucks and it gets busy/full house on weekends so plan ahead. Have no complaints about the service, it’s always been okay.

Been here a few times but it had been awhile. So my friend and I grabbed dinner here and it was a pretty slow evening. I got the enchilada plate and she got a taco salad. Food came out quick and piping hot and was pretty delicious. Only issue I had was after we got the food, there was no server in sight and they barely pay any attention. Most of the time they were chatting to themselves and doing whatever. I literally after 20mins sitting there waiting for the check and to go box, waved my arms in the air at the Hostess who then alerted a server. Have to say if service was better, then this place would thrive. No refills on water, no extra napkins, no refills on chips or dips and it takes years for you to get your check. You might as well stand up and stare directly at someone in hopes they turn around and notice you.

Worst experience ever. i came here with two friends(3 females) we sat in the bar. The 3 gentlemen sitting next to us were beyond drunk. harassing us. And the staff continued to walk right past. Never once checked on us. One of the gentlemen began yelling and still staff did nothing. I had to walk over to a server and ask for our bill. The 1 man was still yelling and cursing at us. . What I’m beyond upset with is the staff. Once the 3 men were asked to leave, 3 different staff people asked if we were ok. But not once did they approach the men in the situation or us. Everyone is the bar juat sat back and watched. Oh now you’re concerned. Our bill was over $ 100, we paid, and I will never be back. To not feel safe in a restaurant is not ok. The 3 men also left with a tab of over $ 300… bravo La Piñata!

One star your service sucked 40 minutes to get our food and drinks. They were not even busy it was Thursday at 4. Server was lost about this own menu and special. One thing they were super fast collecting their $$ and forgot our go to bag. How can someone this day and age provide this kind of service. Should have gone to Chevys I guess.

Zero stars for zero service. My sister and her boyfriend wanted drinks so we’re sitting in the back room. After sitting for ten minutes and not being acknowledged once I decided to start a timer. Over 10 more minutes later some girl said we will be with you in a little bit… As she proceeded to clean the table next to us. After 38 mins she can to take our order. Throughout this whole time there was not a person long enough to even approach to take a drink order. We even told the girl we were just ordering drinks not food. She still just blew us off. This was the worst lack of service I have seen anywhere. I wasn’t even planning on ordering a drink just a water but if I was I wouldn’t have thought it was fun! Well thanks you guys for wasting a hour of my Sunday. Look up the definition of customer service and try to teach your employees something or two because they are clueless.

We love La Piñata! This is one restaurant that I feel comfortable bringing my kids. It is very family friendly and loud enough to cover any noise that they make. Sitting down and getting a bowl of warm chips and a modelo especial, I can just for a moment imagine I’m at bar in Mexico. I always get the fajitas which come out piping hot and delicious. My husband varies, but really likes the ceviche. We return every couple of months.

I frequently visit the Hayward location and have been to the Alameda location as well.(now known as La Penca Azul) Both are pretty good and because my experience has been so great at those locations, I expected the service and food to be pretty consistent with the other locations. Unfortunately, this location was a huge disappointment to me. I met 2 friends there and asked for another basket of chips and salsa for myself and one other person. I was told by the waiter that you can only have one basket of chips per table or else there’s a charge for it. I found that a bit ridiculous but ok. Fine. I moved to the table directly beside my friend so I could get a fresh basket of chips and salsa. I ordered the whole fish(snapper) and it was $ 18 bucks or so. It comes with a small plate of refried beans and rice and 3 tortillas along with a garlic sauce and a chipotle sauce on the side. The fish had no flavor whatsoever. Just plain ol fish with what tasted like no salt and pepper at the least. In my opinion, it wasn’t worth the $ 18. I won’t be returning. I was turned off initially by their«rules» about giving their guests chips as requested without charging extra but the food wasn’t worth the price. And not only that, the service wasn’t good. Our waiter was more focused on a baby brought in by a guest… which it seemed like he knew the person personally… than actually paying attention to guests that were dining there. They won’t get my money again.

This place has just gone down hill period. I came here with a group of friends a few months ago, and although I love the lively authentic atmosphere, the food really is just mediocre at its best– way overpriced mediocre. We all agreed the food this visit, was pretty bland. Good Bye, La Piñata — it was nice enjoying you in the past.

One of our go-to spots for a late night meal. back in the day after clubbing, but nowadays just for a late dinner after getting off work or school late. Service is meh. Food comes in large portions, I’d give their food a «B». Open until 3am. Parking usually available in their lot, on the street or across the street at QZar. Plenty of space for large groups.

Lately people have been asking my favorite Mexican food place is locally. I must say that my first recommendation is usually La Piñata in Concord. I will say that they are a bit more expensive than any local hole in the walls. But its so worth it! The stand outs have to be the Margaritas. I usually order the house Margarita. It comes with this great sugar cane stick and its mixed with Blood Orange and Lime. Its so so good. My last trip I ordered the #8 Chile Relleno with a crunchy Pork Taco. Their pork is out of this world excellente! I also like to splurge on a side of Guacamole. They have some good Guac’ over here! Another great thing about this place, its very very kid friendly. My kids always enjoy coming here. There’s always a bunch a families with small children here when I’ve been here. So I highly recommend you coming here, bring your wife, bring your kids, bring grandma. Get a round of Margaritas and enjoy yourself.

Have to give them 5 stars for the waiter in the bar area. He helped us right when we sat and got us our free appetizers which is the chips and salsa. I have came here a lot since I moved to Concord and the place gets busy but they are pretty quick with seating. They give good portions of food for a good price. Last time I went I got the Shrimp dish which was to die for, it came with rice and beans but the flavor of the shrimp and the size of them were amazing. I definitely will order it again, but the chili verde is pretty good as well as there fish tacos. I rate this place 4 stars for now, I still have yet to try more of there entries.

Was visiting parents and they took us to one of the places they’ve been to! I miss coming to the West coast eating good mexican. I will say it looked like any other place. First thing tasting, Salsa! I really liked. Smokey and had a good kick. Nashville seems to not have that kick unless you go to a food truck on the side of the road, they will have the salsa you’re looking for! Being Sunday course it was a little busy but the service was great. All the servers seemed to help each other and cleared plates, filled our drinks and food came out great. We did order the guacamole and it was one of the best I’ve had. My family couldn’t stop eating it. We ate it all! I order the usual cheese enchilada and it was good. Again nothing special but I did enjoy their salsa and guac. We were in and out and was plenty of food. Course always end up taking left overs since I fill up on chips and salsa! Next time I visit I will have to def. come back.

On our way back from Santa Cruz we decided to stop and grab dinner after a fun day at the beach. The parking lot is a pretty tight squeeze but we were able to find a spot ok. This place has outdoor seating and it’s pretty large inside. The place definitely has one of the best tequila selections I have ever seen! It’s like a museum of tequila. They have some very unique bottles and brands. For dinner I ordered the fish tacos and my fiancé ordered the pescado. Both were so flavorful and delicious. My fish was cooked perfect. It was moist and seasoned to perfection. It had all the great toppings… pico, avocado, etc. The rice and beans were a great compliment to the tacos. I love that the rice was also moist, simple, and seasoned well! I just has a piece of the pescado and it was cooked were it was easy to break off and dip in the yummy dipping sauces. We got classic margaritas and they were ok. Nothing to jump over the moon for. Maybe next time we’ll explore the vast tequilas they have and do better on the drink choices. There was a surprise engagement, which was fun to watch.

I have been here twice for lunch and this has become my go to place for Mexican food instead of Ch___. I had a shrimp burrito $ 8.49 off the lunch menu and it was loaded with shrimp and grill vegetables vs. lot of beans and rice. Very flavorful. The lunch menu has alot of specials in the $ 7.00 to $ 8.50 range. Super nice service and they have lots of parking. Great atmosphere… spacious and colorful, it reminded me of restaurants in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. On one wall there was a large of selection of tequilas, shots for everyone. I think I’m going to round-up a crew to visit for Cinco de Mayo. Olé! La Piñata is chain of 3 restaurants that I know of, they use to be in Alameda but they were purchased by another company.
