This hotel is better than the Unilocal rating. Trip advisor has it at 4.3÷5 stars. That being said, let’s talk about the«internet» aka the wifi service. I was able to connect without problem to free internet. I was able to quickly stream Netflix on my computer. The other comments about emails not sending… Maybe try a new laptop because I just sent 5 emails without issue. And seriously. To the other reviewer talking about blue collar workers etc. I am a young professional on vacation; everyone wants fast wifi. You don’t need to write in arrogant undertones implying people who are in a serious business setting are more inclined to use the service. If you are a serious professional you won’t rely on hotel wifi to do your job. I bring a hotspot wherever I travel just in case; it was not needed here. Additionally, everyone who has a family with a teenager knows that the 13 – 19 age group uses wifi CONSTANTLY. The staff! Outgoing, friendly and accommodating. The man who checked me in called the Outback Steakhouse’s manager(across the street) after they were closed and personally asked if they could accommodate me. Later I had a half hour long conversation with the late night desk man. I don’t know what else people expect. If you like motel 6 like the other reviewer(the arrogant guy with a white collar job.) then enjoy your lumpy bed. I’ll stick with my Hampton inn king bed watching futurama!

Wish I’d studied up on this Hampton Inn. The Internet Service is an absolute joke. I don’t understand why we rate hotels based on internet, but we do, being an internet society and all. Oh! And the second thing, you last name is your password for wifi and they spelled my name wrong in booking and I would have never logged in, never ever. But, man, when I got logged in, I just got massive error messages and very limited views in my favorite youtube genre of art, etc was just so sadly not working as was anything else I wanted to watch on my laptop. Maybe I’ll try my phone. Do people read these? I hope so. One guy’s review from 2013 was a fairly long diatribe about all things awful about this Hampton. I used to really like them for family travel. Now it’s overpriced and very hard to find.

Their Internet service is a joke. Don’t believe anything they say, it doesn’t work. If access to the net important to you, stay somewhere else. This was how I started the my review on my phone two days ago while languishing in the Hampton Inn in Clarksville. So, let’s make this brief. For a long, long time I’ve avoided Hampton Inns. They were the worst brand shifting in hotels from my experience. And to illustrate what I mean, I’ll compare them to the Motel 6 juggernaut. M6 is a commodity. And, like McDonalds, with some slight local variations you know what you’re getting with M6. Motel 6 is cheap. The rooms will be simple. The lobbies are non-existent as are any guest services. At a national average of something like $ 45 a night, there are few surprises with Motel 6. Hampton Inn has tried to move upscale. From properties with external doors and tony lobbies with(usually functioning) coffee makers Hampton has tried to move itself up the scale. Rates that average more than double what M6 charges you get what exactly? In the case of Clarksville, you get a lobby breakfast that’s mostly continental(I do love the waffle makers though, I’ll admit that). Some slightly better M6 room furniture and that’s about it. The linens are still pretty rough. The baths are larger but about as well appointed. *Trivial curiosity, the Clarksville Hampton had what, in my extensive experience is the roughest tissue paper I’ve ever found. It is, quite literally, a mild abrasive. Back to it, but my point at the top, internet service so bad, so slow and unreliable as to make my phone my primary digital device while staying there. Communicate to the front desk and you get a story that it’s been this way for a long time and«they’re working on it» which I assumes means, we’re not doing anything at this point but contemplating action. This is 2013. Not having working and useable internet service isn’t a luxury, it’s one of the basics and whether or not it’s free isn’t the issue. Free service that doesn’t work is pointless. I carefully observed the other folks staying at the Clarksville Hampton. A mix of blue collar and white collar people. I didn’t see many people I would tag as recreational visitors. So I’m wondering how many of those people, faced with emails that wouldn’t be retrieved were enjoying their stay? When emailed the General Manager there I got back a generic«we’re working on it» response. When I tweeted about it I got a Hilton Honors rep who said I was offered a free night(out of my three nights there). And, when I checked out, I had indeed, had a free night offered. I didn’t want it. What I wanted was what I paid for. And the disconnect in communication between the Hilton staffer and the property GM only reinforced my «one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing» about the Hampton Inn. In the end, my recommendation is simple. Avoid this property. There are a dozen other, similar options within walking distance and I have to think that one of them understands that working internet service is something their guests desire.
