I think we called about 10 different motels/hotels on our drive through Nashville and they were all sold out! Gateway Inn to the rescue. The exit admittedly is full of different hotels/motels so you do have your choice. We were able to snag a deal for about $ 57 for the evening. Really no complaints. Our room was clean and smelled«okay». There was a mini fridge. Hot water, a TV, Sofa and 2 queen beds. Most importantly the air-conditioning worked! They offered a «continental» breakfast which was very meek. Cinnamon rolls wrapped in plastic with a toaster and bread. Bleh coffee that I tossed after trying. Every employee was very pleasant so Kudos to the staff. You don’t have to be afraid of this Inn!!!

I had reserved a room at the America’s Best Value motel next door for my small dog and myself, but once I saw how many motels there were in the area, I thought I could do better, so I asked for the price here. It was $ 20 cheaper than America’s BV, so I took it. I asked for a room on the first floor but was told, by the very friendly and accommodating front desk clerk, that everything on the first floor was full, altho there were only about two cars in the parking lot. Anyway, she gave me a handicapped room. When I went into the room the pillows were place vertically against the headboard and looked as if they had just been used, so I went back and she gave me another handicapped room. It was the same and I figured that they just don’t go for that crisp, neat and ironed look. The room was big and clean. One of the plastic covers on an outlet fell off when I tried to plug my cell phone charger in, and all of the outlets seem loose. The air conditioner, when set below 70 turned off repeatedly and wouldn’t go back on, so I fiddled with it and found that if I set it for 60 it would stay on. Luckily they provide enough blankets. There was no wifi in my room — next to the lobby — but the clerk said I could either go into the lobby to use it or else she would give me an Ethernet cable. The cable worked. I would recommend the place based on the price, the staff and general accommodations, the various little problems notwithstanding. I don’t know anything about Clarksville, but something must be going on here at some time to justify all of the motels, or else there is going to be some shakeout down the line.
