I love catfish. Period. This is the place to go if you are jonesin for some country cooking. I love their okra, fish, white beans and sweet tea. The only catfish that is better than theirs is my moms.

The place has its shtick. And it is cute décor. But the food is meh. Service was ok. Overall it was a less than stellar experience. The breading on the catfish was bland and uninspired. Coleslaw was ok(mayo). Fried pickles were good. Pecan cobbler was good.

Was very filling and had left overs! I loved it, and I’ll definitely be back. I got the vinegar cole slaw and it was delicious I’m not a cole slaw eater either. I suggest the catfish strips but next time I’ll get the two piece and not the three.

I’m here from Oregon for my first time(on a work trip). I was craving catfish and took a little drive to this place. Ordered the 2pc boneless catfish meal. Subbed the salad(instead of coleslaw). Between the complimentary fried okras, the salad and all the fixin’s that came with the dinner, I’m stuffed. I thought the food and service were great. And I just adore the setting. The cute drive down the hill to this place, then pulling up and seeing all the rocking chairs on the front porch and people sitting in them just relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed stopping by here while in town.

My husband noted that it was the best catfish he has ever eaten! Perfectly cooked. The service was wonderful. We will return when we come to Clarksville again.

There are some restaurants that make the customer feel like they are important, this is not that kind of restaurant. We ordered the gumbo and took one bite and it wasn’t up to par. We told the waitress we didn’t like it and she said«I’m sorry» and left the plate on the table. We ate nothing else out of it and was still charged for the gumbo. We asked the waitress and she explained that it was policy that once the food hits the table it cannot be refunded regardless of quality. I’m not sure what kind of better business practice this is but it is not kosher. We will not be back.

This place was better than I thought it was going to be. Great Service. The complimentary fried okra was a plus! Their fish fry was not as flavorful as what I’m used to back home in the New Orleans area but it was still tasty! :) We’ll definitely be back. Make sure you are in a patient mood if you go on the weekend. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table on a Sunday. They have rocking chairs outside and the scenery is nice though. We didn’t mind.

Where do I begin? Instead of bread, They bring you a bowl fried okra, and it is very, very good! The food is excellent and not a bad price at all! The location is interesting. I will definitely be returning!

Had the Cajun grilled catfish and it was an absolute divine cosmic revelation. Come on the weekend and have the carrot cake.

Good people and good food. Google maps shows 2 locations. The one in town is an old antique store.

Um… first of all, THEYDONOTSERVEALCOHOL. So don’t go there thinking you’re going to have beer with your FRIEDFOOD. I found them listed as the number one restaurant in Clarksville. Not sure how this happened. The place has the feel of a cafeteria and the service was very slow. I ordered fried pickles which I never got. I ordered the fried catfish meal, with vinegar coleslaw(not good). My bad, should have ordered mayo coleslaw which my

The catfish is bland. The breading is bland. The entire experience is down-home fun and quaint; but I’ve had better catfish in a 100 other places. The fries were soggy and cold, the vinegar cole slaw was watery and thin, and the catfish itself was nothing unique. The service as whole was C+ quality, with the waiter refusing to smile or make eye contact with us. There was a ton of mistakes made on the order, but we just went with the punches and tipped handsomely anyway. I’d go here again, but only because of the location and maybe because there isn’t a lot of other catfish options in Clarksville… I’ll give it another shot.

Great service!!! Great southern family atmosphere! Great food!!! The family style okra and white beans were wonderful. The choice between two types of slaw was nice. The catfish was good, but not as good as I had expected. It was actually a little bland. I had the steamed veggies and my wife had the fried corn. Both sides were great. The hush puppies were actually the best thing on my plate! Of course the sweet tea was great, but overpriced at $ 2.59. For dessert we had the chocolate chess pie and the caramel pie. Both were excellent homemade, not frozen, desserts.

Pretty good place. Impossible to not get full, so don’t fill up on the fried okra! Best crab cakes in the area. Good service. All the food is fresh, so chew carefully, especially the clams!

When we went here, the place was full of parties of six or more. Most tables had over ten people sitting at them. There was an hour wait.(Well worth it!). We never ever wait around for more than ten minutes. First we were served fried okra. I am from the north and fried okra doesn’t sound so good. It was delicious. I ordered Cajun grilled catfish. Hubby had fried. We were served an incredible mayonnaise cole slaw… Best I have ever had. Then came the white beans. Once again, very delicious. My meal was incredible. Perfectly baked potato, perfectly grilled catfish. Our waitress was probably the best waitress I have ever seen. She had a party of 15 next to us. When she brought the food to them, she remember who ordered what. I was impressed!

Appetizer sampler with chicken tenders, mozz sticks, and fried pickles. Cajun catfish meal with fried corn Everything was excellent. Service was fast, friendly, and authentic. Food was hot and prepared with quality. Tenders and pickles and fish are hand breaded. Spices were spot on. Portions are large. Homey atmosphere, a little noisy. Would definitely make this a recommended stop in Clarksville. Menu also had healthy options such as broiled and grilled items like salmon and seafood.

I’m not fond of southern home cooking, but this place is my grandmother’s favorite place to eat so we came here today for lunch with her while we were in town. The first thing I noticed is they fry just about everything here! Even corn! Also they are very generous with sides. Before you order they bring you a bowl of okra. At some point they also bring you coleslaw and beans. Hubby got a Spicy Sirloin and loved it so much he didn’t save me a bite at all! Their house salad was fantastic and totally worth the few bucks. It came with lots of stuff on it– even bacon! I am sad I only got a bite of hubby’s– next time I’ll get my own! Liked: — Fried Okra — Hush Puppies — House Salad — Rice — Spicy Sirloin(hubby fav) — Beans Ok: — Crab Cake — Fried Corn on the Cob — Grilled Shrimp Dinner Disliked: — Coleslaw — Steamed Vegetables

Not impressed ATALL! Every single item of food served to us was battered and deep fried, to include the CORNONTHECOB! Corn is good all by itself. The service was terrible and so was the food. We tried giving the left overs to our dog and she wouldn’t even eat it!

After finding the place, I enjoyed it very much! My co workers and I went here for dinner and we all were very happy with the meal… the prices, service, and food were all very good. I had the grilled catfish(I’ve never had catfish before) and I had the lemon pepper seasoning on it. I was happy with the fish — it was good and the seasoning didn’t overpower the flavor. The fried food looked good as well. I didn’t order any but it didn’t look greasy and my co workers ate it up like it was the best thing since sliced bread, so I can only assume it tasted good.

The Catfish House is truly a hidden gem! The service was great, the wait time was short and the food was phenomenal! Definitely get the caramel pie when you go – it is out of this world!
