Good food, good portions, good service, I’ve gone here a bunch of times and never left unsatisfied. Try the pork sandwich. The staff is very friendly as well. Good eye candy for waitresses if you know what I mean.

i ordered 2 shrimp platters with brocoli and rice. i brought it home and it was not what i ordered. i called spoke to a manny he said no problem come in and we willredu the order. the manager was very nasty kras and beligerent to me. i told them i was a long time customer and he made me look like a liar. i brought it home and opened both platters up one of them looked like somebody gobbed in the platter. thats the end of going back there and i don t recommend anybody to go there. i threw both platters in the garbage. the place also is dirty and the board of health should make a visit there.

½ Chicken ½ Rib Combo Plater is the way to go! Be prepared to wait for a table on a weekend night; this place gets pretty packed. Never a disappointment with the food at the Clark BBQ. It’s casual Portuguese cuisine in it’s most simple and tasty form. The food and sangria are always great! Their to-go/pick up orders do take annoyingly longer than expected, but otherwise — no complaints!

We came here before our dental appointment because I’ve been wanting to try here for a while. Daughter ordered the ½ order BBQ chicken with rice and beans and liked it a lot. I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce with carrots, peas and corn. I thought that it automatically comes with a side of rice and didn’t realize that I had to order a side of rice. It’s ok. I ended up taking some of our daughter’s rice because she couldn’t finish it anyway. :). I liked my dish a lot. It was garlicky. Hubs had the sauteed pork sandwich and thought it was ok. Service was very friendly. Glad we got to try this place out. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu!

It’s been at least 2 years since we last ordered from Clark BBQ because it was bland and dry last time. Over the weekend, we got the ½ chicken and ½ ribs platter with rice and cubed potatoes to-go, and the chicken was nicely flavored and juicy. The ribs were a bit dry, but that seems to be the norm for Portuguese BBQ. Huge portions, and well-seasoned once again!

Food is ok… Chop Spot in Linden far surpasses this place. Clark BBQ staff is arrogant and you wouldn’t believe how stingy they are with their bread!!! Want extra? Don’t even bother asking. With lots of competition in the area they should be much more accommodating.

The bbq was top notch. If I could deduct a half star for being Smokey inside I would. The sauces were great and I wish they weren’t out of brisket.

Best Portuguese BBQ around. The chicken as moist, the ribs were tender, ad the bread was warm and toasty.

Clark BBQ is our go-to quick, cheap date night spot. We always order a whole chicken, rice and fries. The garlicky buttery rice and the crispy skin chicken are the perfect match for a pitcher of red sangria. The service is usually good and the food usually comes out within 10 minutes of ordering it. This place is small– be warned you will have to wait on a Friday or Saturday night, and you will be cramped in the corner waiting, but trust me you won’t be sorry.

Since my last review, they have improved the fries and may have some outdoor seating in warm weather. The $ 8.50 ribs plus 2 large sides is a bargain and the larger $ 14.50 version easily serves 2. Chicken I believe is 1 less.

Huge portions at cheap prices! I have never seen anything like it. Food was your typical Portuguese fair, and it was very well prepared. I loved the fact they added shredded carrots to the rice. It made a boring side dish tasty and different. Great French fries, too! Service was efficient and friendly. They have beer and wine only.

Wow. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Lots of food for a really affordable price. Ordered the half ribs and half chicken with rice and corn as sides. You can choose rice, corn, fries, salad or broccoli for the side dishes. Amazingly, the food came in no later than 10 minutes. The chicken was super tasty and tender. The ribs were really soft but a but a bit greasy. Nonetheless, all tasted amazing! The bbq sauce on the table is a must… If i can squirt it in my mouth I’d totally would hahaha. Location isn’t the biggest so make sure you plan accordingly as the place tends to fill up quick. Ugh just thinking of this place makes me want to eat there now. Friendly service, check. Leave with a full stomach with a full wallet, check. Go to it asap! 5 stars baby!

Several years ago, a friend suggested we pay a visit to Clark BBQ. I remember saying something like, we can’t go there-we love Route 22BBQ in Hillside. However, we found ourselves in the area after paying a condolence call. We are now loyal customers. Take out or dine in, we do our share of both. Clark’s meats are a step above many of their competitors. No tiny ribs filled with connective gristle and bone. These are big meaty suckers guaranteed to please. Proof positive is my fourteen year old who loves nothing better than wolfing down a rack. Although I love the ribs, I frequently order the Picadinho. Juicy bits of pork with great roasted potatoes and chorizo. The chicken is outstanding also I will frequently arrive ahead of my take out order so I can enjoy a glass or two of white sangria at the bar. Delicious. There are many Portugese BBQ spots out there. Everyone has a favorite. Clark BBQ has never disappointed us.

4.5 stars. This place gets packed extremely quickly, but has a decently sized bar and dine-in area. Pickup is also available. We started the meal with a half pitcher of red sangria — surprisingly good and strong! Free dinner rolls when you dine in also, which was a nice touch. Ordered the combo platter of ½ ribs, ½ BBQ chicken with rice and steamed broccoli to share. You have a choice of fries or assorted vegetables, but we were feeling healthy. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering on a LOADED plate. Ribs were delicious — the meat is very juicy and just falls off the bone. However, I found that both the chicken and ribs were a little flavorless, so I recommend eating it with the house chili sauce — it adds the perfect amount of tang and kick. The steamed broccoli florets we got were HUGE but well cooked. Rice was buttery and yummy, with plenty to share. The prices here are extremely affordable and you leave feeling stuffed — definitely my idea of comfort food. The service seems to be hit or miss, as we had to ask a few times for water and other tables seemed to be neglected at times. However, this can be forgiven for a small establishment such as Clark’s. Would definitely come back again!

I have to review while I’m eating this because it’s so delicious and I don’t want to forget what I have to say. I ordered to go because my work needed me and luckily its only a minute drive. My food came out in like 5 minutes waiting after ordering it 10 minutes ago when I called in for pick up. This is my first time having this even though they have 4 other locations and it did not disappoint. I ordered the half order of chicken cutlet with rice and steamed broccoli. It weighed about 2 and ¾ lbs and once I started my car the rich smell just hit me like it was just inside the kitchen watching them cook it. It made me salivate. I rushed back to my office and opened it up that my coworkers smelt it around them. The chicken cutlets were grilled and moist. The half order came with 3 pieces, a ton of rice and massive pieces of juicy broccoli. Everything was in perfect harmony like a boys 2 men ballad. The half order should be a size of a full order because it was a lot. The restaurant itself is smaller than what it looks on the outside. They have about a little less than 20 parking spots, a couple booths to sit inside, and you can buy alcohol to go from here. They also have cheesecake, flan, chocolate cake, and parfait for dessert. I recommend getting food here as the food is magically delicious!(Trademark of the Lucky Charms guy)

First time at this place. Went in for lunch at around 1:30pm or so and it was packed. People dining in at the tables, at the bar counter and waiting for pick ups. The place is cozy. It seems a lot bigger from outside. There seems to be plenty of parking for the traffic it gets at this time. There are about 3 people taking care of the front of the house. They seemed to handle the crowd very well. I walked up to the counter to take see if I could get a menu and the guy that works there was pretty helpful. He made some suggestions and let me have a few minutes to order. I decided on the ½ chicken & ½ ribs w/rice and cube fries. It took about 10 minutes to get my order. Not bad taking into mind how busy they were. Everything was awesome. High in salt but not in a bad way. Maybe in a not healthy for you way. The portion on this combo was huge. Enough for 2 even 3 people to share. So much rice and potatoes. The cube fries are like thick steak fries but cubed. The chicken literally fell of the bone. Thank god I had a plate under me while I was eating. I also tried a slice of the flan. It was so good and airy. Not the like any other type of flan I’ve had before. Almost like a sponge cake but it was definitely flan. I can’t say I would eat at this place more than once or twice a month due to salt content, but it’s worth a try if your in Clark.
