I am getting married at Diamond Bar Golf Course and as part of the package we can choose from one of 3 bakeries for our cake. Some Crust was our first tasting and the one we are choosing for our cake. Unlike the other bakery we went to for a tasting, Some Crust was professional, helpful and informative. Hillary sat down with us in a small office away from the busy storefront and let us sample about 8 flavors of cake combinations. She explained our options thoroughly instead of telling us what we can’t do like the other bakery did. They had a large album of designs and we found one that perfectly matched our colors and style. I can’t thank Hillary and the team at Some Crust enough for making the process smooth and simple. I cant wait to see the finished product.

I love their Rosemary French bread. I had the bread for my pesto chicken sandwich. Perfect match.

We really wanted mini cheesecakes and a cake and they were able to do that! We had enough to feed 300 people and it was delicious!!! The cake tasting is really simple and they are really good about taking your idea of the cake and working with their baker and making sure it comes the way that you want! It was absolutely delicious!

I don’t know about the products, since the lack of good hygiene/sanitary conditions on the part of the staff caused us to leave without ordering. There is a board of health ruling against animals/dogs in a food service environment. This bakery allowed a large dog in & it was welcomed by a girl behind the counter who, after petting the dog, went back behind the counter & handled food! Unacceptable, unsanitary, unhygienic. Management: train your staff & supervise.

DARKCHOCOLATEBUTTERBALLCOOKIES are literally the best dessert I have ever had and I have had a lot of desserts. I miss them dearly now that I have moved away from Claremont. The cakes are also incredible, mainly due to all the different ganache and buttercream flavors. Also excellent egg sliders and coffee drinks(I do mocha coconut). But mainly, the dark chocolate butterball cookie.

It was my first time at Some Crust Bakery and I was not disappointed. Off the bat we received really great service. I explained that it was my first time at the bakery and wanted to try a few things. We ended up with a variety of cookies which were delicious. Some of them were so thick and rich that you needed a tall glass of milk with. She then recommended her favorite cupcakes and after one glance I new I wanted to try a few of them out. They were some of the prettiest cupcakes I’ve seen. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the raspberry– lime cheesecake cupcake was our favorite. It was a beautiful balance of sweet and tart with a creamy cheesecake center. The cupcake was moist and delightful. Definitely coming back!

My husband and I were very pleased with their customer service and the look and especially taste of our wedding cake. They did exactly what we asked and our guests who tried it, raved to us about the taste. We had four different flavored tiers and a pleasant cake tasting consultation to make sure we chose our favorite 4 flavors. Thank you for a beautiful and delicious cake!

Great local bakery. The cupcakes and cookies are excellent. I have also had custom cakes made here, and been pleased with the taste and design. The ordering process is fine, but they need to work on the pickup and completion of the order process. I ordered two cakes for my twins birthday party at the beginning of December and was given a 10:00 am pickup time. I ended up waiting well over an hour in line for them to locate one of the cakes. My wife and I waited, and I’m sure they were finishing decorating the cake and should have just told us that. But the look and taste of the cakes were excellent. Since the cakes were so good, a year later we decided to order our daughters 13th Birthday cake thinking we probably wouldn’t have the same problem with pickup again. Boy, was I wrong. We were given a 6:00 am pickup time, and since it was the day before Christmas told to get there early since the lines for holiday pies would be very long. To my surprise they didn’t open until 6:30 am. I should have checked their hours, but my receipt indicated 6:00 am, and the person that helped me, stressed getting there at that time. Once they opened, and I was the first in line, it took 10 minutes for the person to come out and say the cake wasn’t ready and was marked for 6:00 pm pickup, even though they wouldn’t be open at 6:00 pm. The person helping me said it would be ready in 30 minutes, and they offered to deliver it, but I decided to wait just to be safe. The assistant was very friendly and apologetic and gave me free coffee and offered pastries as well which was a very nice thing to do. After 10 minutes the cake came out, and it wasn’t exactly what I had asked for. I had them create a zebra patterned cake with a bow. It was a 9 inch round cake for 15 people for $ 75. They had a picture of a cake very close to what I wanted, but I asked that the bow be smaller and on the corner of the round cake, and happy birthday written on the bow. Since they were rushed to give me the cake, they ended up just following the picture, and since the party was same day, and I couldn’t wait, I ended up just taking it. I really like the baked goods, but it’s hard to recommend getting custom cakes since I have now had 2 bad experiences.

My sister and I decided to get a cake here for our mom’s birthday since our favorite bakery for cakes in Montclair was closed on Mondays. I had only ever heard good things about their cookies(which I’ve tried and they are really good) so I had hoped their cakes were just as good. This was kind of last minute too, our mom was bummed the whole day so we needed to surprise her. I got there and chose a white cake with raspberry filling and the outside looked nicely decorated. I think my sister called about it earlier and it was supposedly fresh. So I got to my mom’s and my sister and I tried putting candles in the cake but we had to kinda force the candle in the frosting, which I thought was weird. It wasn’t smooth but I looked over that since we still needed to taste it. My sister and I both tried the cake at the same time and knew immediately it was BAD. The frosting and filling were ridiculously thick, like it can break into pieces! It didn’t even taste good at all so we didn’t eat that part. But we barely even ate the cake part, it was super dry, tasteless, and didn’t have that spongy-ish texture cakes have. I’m wondering how old it actually was because I’ve never eaten such a bad cake like that before. My mom said it was okay at first since we got it for her, but later admitted it wasn’t good. We told her we’ll get her another cake at our favorite bakery to make up for it. Had we known it’d be such a disappointment, we would have just bought a cheaper cake at a grocery store that would have tasted a lot better than this. This cake was $ 25 and not even worth $ 1. Maybe I just got a bad one but I definitely would not risk trying it again. If I am judging the cake alone, 0 stars. But the staff were nice and at least their cookies are good. I know I’ve also tasted a red velvet cupcake here before and it was just okay. TLDR; Cookies are good. Cakes TERRIBLE! Don’t risk it and just buy a basic cake at a store if you’re in a hurry.

Tried 4 items, peanut butter cookie, pumpkin choc chip cookie, vanilla cupcake with strawberry icing, and vanilla cupcake with cookies and cream icing. Cupcakes: were dry as hell, and tasted really strong of plain flour, and that icky«refrigerated» taste(they were stored in the back wall refrigerator for some reason) so the icing was cold stiff and not creamy and smooth on both cupcakes. The flavor was so bland, and starchy, no real hint of a sweet vanilla cupcake. The cake itself was cold and a stiff/stale crumb. I like my cupcakes moist, lucious with creamy icing and that powwow of lucious flavor as you bite. They were cute, but flavor and temperature were what kept us from enjoying them, we had to toss them. I think they were $ 3.25 each. Not worth it. Go to my delight cupcakery nearby instead. Cookies: both flavors I listed were pretty decent. Cookies are a generous size. service: very lack luster, no hello when you walk in only girls chit chatting about their personal lives behind the counter then a «are you ready to pay?» Kind of service. I want to come back and try more items though! Maybe their cupcakes aren’t their strongest item. Gonna give them a second chance.

One of the best bakeries in the IE, hands down. I’ve ordered from here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The place itself is pretty small and parking can be tough. Nothing fancy inside either. But the goods make up it all. everything fresh baked here, of course, with fresh and tasty coffee to go with it. The cakes are the highlight of this place. Order in advance, customize as desired… A little on the pricey side, actually a lot. Expect to pay 2−4x the price of regular bakeries/chains… but worth it IMO.

We just got married at CocoPalm Restaurant and our cake was included in our wedding package. We went with red velvet with banana cream filling and black and white with a raspberry filling, also delicious. I am only giving them 4 stars because when we went for our consultation we were informed that a 4 tier cake would be more then enough to feed 106 guests. Unfortunately that was not the case 2 tables approx 20 guest did not have cake. So please make sure to purchase an extra tier so your not embarrassed like I was.

I found this place on Unilocal years ago! Back then, I had tried some of their breakfast sandwiches(sliders?) and I remember them being delicious and inexpensive. Fast forward a few years later, my fiancé and I scheduled a cake tasting less than a month before our wedding. We met with Hillary and she patiently spent time with us, explaining our options and kindly pre-chose specific flavors that would match our coffee and donuts themed wedding. We sampled about 6 – 8 different slices(all decadent and delicious), and got to take the rest home. The 2 types of icing were sweet and rich, but I’m not an icing person anyway, so I just scraped it off. We ended up getting a small 2 tier ceremonial cake. Top layer was 6″ spice cake(fiancé’s pick), 2nd layer was 8″ hazelnut cake(my pick), all with coffee(european) buttercream icing. Our total cost was $ 180, plus $ 40 delivery charge. A week before the wedding, Melissa, called to confirm our order and to remind us about dropping off fresh flowers for our cake a day before wedding day. Other info — there is cc charge of $ 25 in case you miss you cake appt — provide an inspiration photo of what you have in mind(they also have an album there to look through) — they rent cake stands or you can provide a your own(we made ours for $ 2 from Dollar Tree plate and candlestick holder) — Staff and service was great, and it made planning this detail hassle-free! All in all, to save money, I would have made our own cake… But my the fiancé thought I was crazy. Some Crust was the next best thing. Our cake was beautiful!

I LOVE this place. I go out of my way to come here on the weekends, it’s usually my YOUSURVIVEDTHEWEEK treat. Food: I’ve only ever tried the egg sliders which are perfectly sized magical breakfast sandwiches. you are the artist that has the power to create a masterpiece as you see fit. you decide on the bread(baked in house!), the toppings, sauce and meat. some of the more extravagant toppings are extra, like the applewood smoked bacon(.75) but most definitely worth it. Word of caution with any build your own creation, be thoughtful in your approach, too much clouds the pallet, choose flavors that work well together and you will not regret it. Liquids: Coffee is divine. my favorite is the iced coffee, it just pairs so nicely with the egg sliders. Setting: small space, snatch a chair/table when you can. there’s also seating outside. Verdict: I will be back as often as possible.

What a cute little bakery! It has been around for years(like close to 100!) and you can tell they have perfected everything! Huge selection, though they don’t sell bread on Sundays or Mondays, which is of course when I was there. Different selection every day, Saturdays seemed to have the most and best options, mental note to return then. Service was super sweet and very patient. Trying to pace myself from getting one of everything, I kept it simple with 2 cupcakes, and they were huge at #3.95 each and oh so tasty! The salted caramel almond such a great batter and frosting, not a fan of the salty taste though. The smores also great, loved the marshmallow filling, all around tasty. Will have to come back to try their bread and pastries, I can see how they managed to last all of these years, great service and great food at fair prices, what more could you want?

All California lingo aside, this place is Epic :) Facing the front of the bakery, go in left or right, either way you will be happy. I suggest right side because here you get to see all the baked goodness that one could ask for. I can not begin to explain the various selections, so I will not, for choosing Any1 will leave you smiling. So much so that I advise you to be «in the mood» for something specific, otherwise the selection is so overwhelming that you might not be able to choose anything. I believe I began to stutter when it came time to place my order. Also, fear not the line out the door. This gives you time to decide what you can not, Not have, and what you must have. Go, choose, smell, smile, return!

Some Crust Bakery has been my go-to cake shop for years! It all started when Unilocal reviewers, yet again, convinced me to try it out. I ordered a cake for my nephew’s nautical themed party and it was honestly, the cutest cake I’ve ever purchased in my life(to this day). The best part — it was crazy inexpensive(back then, anyway)!! So I continued to make the 40 minute drive for all my cakes and always ask that Katrina decorate them. I ordered my baseball themed baby shower cake which turned out to be amazing! Exactly what I envisioned! My most recent purchase — a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed 2 tier cake that was absolutely delicious. Seriously, I was sad that I had to share it with my guests! My only complaint — the prices have gone on a serious hike this past year. I paid about $ 100 for that first cake, which was the most elaborate of the ones I’ve ordered, and HUGE(the largest round cake they have). This last cake — $ 190 bucks for about 30 servings! And it wasn’t even all fondant, which I was mad about at first, but that all went away when I took a bite. Now that I’m writing about it though, I am a bit peeved. Overall though, I’m a big fan!
