Really sad that this place closed. Brenda was so sweet and the food was incredible, but started going downhill when she couldn’t come in as much. The banana pudding was the best dessert, and paired with the chicken and dumplings you’d be in heaven.

This little place was so cute and cozy. The staff and owner clearly take a lot of pride in their food and their hospitality. We LOVED the simple menu of grilled peanut butter and banana, and mac and cheese. YUM! Fantastic place to stop on the way home from a weekend ski trip!!!

Love this small, friendly and quaint eatery in the midst of downtown Claremont NH. We got here by chance, as the nearby coffee house was closed due to a plumbing problem. Well, it was quite serendipity because we found a delightful place to have lunch. As «foreigners» from Claremont, we were surprised at the architectural detail of the once vibrant town of Claremont, and Brenda, while making us a delightful lunch, filled us on the town’s history and legacy. So we not only had a superb lunch, but a wonderful learning experience on top of that. Icing on the cake. The food is fresh, tasty, well condimented but not spicy, although she provides additional spices for the adventurous. And soft, delicious, oven-fresh corn bread that we saw her take out of the oven. Yum! All in all, one of the nicest places for a genuine«mom & pop» home cooked meal. Loved it!

Brenda, the cook and owner is delightful. It is obvious this is her labor of love — feeding comfort food and lots of kindness to those who enter her quaint storefront eatery. You can feel the love the moment you walk in and the food is delicious! Try the chicken salad and cornbread. All made from scratch.

Simply Comfort opened several weeks ago in Downtown Claremont, serving up soul food and comfort food and specializing in prepared meals to go and catering. Freshly prepared plate lunches(change daily) are served until 2PM, eat-in and takeout. Prepared suppers and meals(heat & serve) are also available. Cold bottled beverages in the cooler. I stopped in here during a lunch break recently. I was greeted by the staff as I entered the shop. I ordered a plate lunch(really a box lunch) to go, one of two plate lunches of the day offered. I decided on the Hamburger Steak with choice of two sides and a 20 oz Coke for $ 8.99 plus tax. The food was plated(I meant boxed) promptly and I was back on my way. The food did not look very fancy, but sure tasted pretty good! The hamburger steak was thick with a firm texture outside and moist inside(cooked medium-pink), topped with a thick beef gravy, a decent main entrée. I enjoyed the sides including the macaroni and cheese which was delicious with a rich taste and the macaroni was very soft. The baked beans were also very good, which had a sweet taste(molasses & brown sugar) with a dense soft texture and thick pieces of bacon in the mix. Overall, I enjoyed a good«not so fancy» homecooked meal on the go! (3.75÷5.00 stars) FACEBOOK:
