My salad was old and turning pink had to send it back. Caesar salad was so bad it was inedible. Fish and shrimp was missing shrimp altogether. Soup never arrived My Berger was on the cold side. Fries were cold. Coder was okay.

Two out of the three times I’ve eaten here, I’ve gotten diarrhea and that never happens anywhere else. It took me 6 months to try it again after the first time. Yesterday, I had lunch special: ½ chicken/pecan sandwich on whole wheat bread, chicken tortilla soup, coffee and cherry pie. I’m still suffering this morning. The only time I haven’t gotten sick was when I had the oatmeal. I almost called the health department last time. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I went here with family multiple times on my last trip to the Portland area. We kept coming back because of how consistently good the food was. It’s a great sit-down diner with nice workers and very, very tasty food.

main reason i like sharis is the consistency of the food from each location. Today i had the eggs benedict and is was great! service was nice and personal but the eggs on top were hard and not what i asked for so i had to leave 4 stars!

Been here many times, seems to have gotten better lately, nice casual dinning, most servers there have been quite attentive, and if anything isn’t to your liking they try to make it right, which doesn’t come up often like some other places around I’ve been to. Pretty decent for a shari’s.

It’s nothing special decent place to take the kids and not worry if they destroy the place. The food is ok under seasoned. The pies are the only thing memorable. The gm is real cool. Funny and helpful.

I really wish I had looked up the reviews on this place before going. Don’t waste your money. I can’t tell whether the food or service was worse. The only reason we came here was because Bob’s Red Mill was closed, and the only reason this place got a 1 star from me was because they had a decent host. The server was terrible, and the food was just above edible. I had the eggs Benedict and the ham was really hard as well as the English muffin, and they skimped on the sauce, not that it was any good anyways. The hash browns were nothing special. My boyfriend had the meat lovers«skillet» with French toast and that was also disappointing. The food isn’t even on a skillet! So it was luke warm when we got it and really bland. The French toast was even worse. It tasted like cardboard. Avoid this place!

This Shari’s wasn’t anything spectacular. Definitely worthy of a 3 star. It seemed like a slightly older building, maybe one if the earlier Shari’s. We had a larger group if 6, which I guess they managed okay. I had the Farmhouse Biscuit Breakfast. The biscuits were a bit cold, not much gravy on them, which wasn’t too enjoyable. The eggs were done perfectly, though. They didn’t get enough icing on the 3 cinnamon rolls that were ordered. I’d come again if asked, but I think there’s likely a lot better tastes morning spots around.

This Shari’s has bad cooks. Ordered blackened prime rib(medium) and sirloin(medium). Prime rib came out hard as a rock and sirloin came out medium rare(bloody). Didn’t complain about the sirloin but had them make another prime rib. Second prime rib came out regular(not blackened). Management needs to train the cooks at this location. Had other problems at this location last time we came here too. Maybe could use new management. Other locations that I’ve been to had no problems.

Was Shari’s always this expensive? I thought that were cheaper than Elmers but a step above IHOP. Fiancée and I came in after I thought that maybe we should eat here since it’s been a while. We stood in the front for a while before we sat down while the cashier dude was doing something. Not much of a multitasker. He see you but kept on working on that register and did’t muster enough time to say«hi». Breakfast was a downer. Denver Omlet was anything but special. Hardly any meats and the bell peppers in there were over cooked. I finished it, and the best thing that didn’t happen was I wasn’t passing gas, so I guess that’s a good thing. The sausages are good, and the pies are always good. So I’ll give them a higher score. With out that, than different story. What’s with the stuffed hasbrowns, with sour cream? Holy cow that just doesn’t sound right!

Shari’s is a decent place to go to for any meal. They have plenty of food to choose from and they serve breakfast all day. Their pie is pretty amazing too, especially the peanut butter chocolate. I would recommend the stuffed hashbrowns for breakfast or the BLT for lunch.

Right when I walked in, the hostess told me that there were two really big groups and I should«go somewhere else». I had a group of seven girls, who would have bought way more than the little kids that were there! It was ridiculous. We went to Denny’s instead.

Same old same old you’d expect from any Shari’s. When I was in high school, this was the place to go after football games or late night weekends.

Inspired by the hard-hitting restaurant coverage recently published by the Oregonian’s A&E section I decided to take the short one out to breakfast and hit-up Shari’s instead of our usual choices; Jam, Bar Carlo, or Detour Café. I grew-up in Shari’s, drinking gallons of coffee and snacking on fries late at night when I was a teenager, but I haven’t returned since. First off, I do appreciate the crayons for kids, but honestly I could do this myself and think I shall from now on. Crayon’s cannot a meal make. I am somewhat amazed to note how expensive things are. I had decided in advance to order some version of what I usually order for breakfast to compare. I almost always order something with eggs(sunny-side up if I can get them), some form of potatoes, toast and bacon. Usually I order my daughter something of her own in mini size also. But here I only order one item for us to share, because my usual entrée is at least two dollars more expensive than at the local places I usually eat. Coffee is, if not the most important part of breakfast, then somewhere in the top 3. This coffee is bad. Bitter and weak. Also, I am a big fan of self-serve coffee or really attentive waitstaff. Here I score neither. The waitress calls from three booths away to see if we need anything, and never brings the coffee pot with her when she actually makes it over. I am a mom dining out with a toddler. Assume I need more caffeine and ask if I need a warm-up with the coffee pot at the ready. Food comes, and speed is definitely their strong suit. We barely waited at all, which is good and bad. However, I do admit that wait times for food at busy brunch places in Portland can get outrageous, so I appreciated the novelty. The potatoes are your standard grated hash browns, and need liberal application of salt, pepper and ketchup to add flavor to an otherwise bland side. The eggs taste good and are devoured by my daughter who normally disdains eggs, but that is probably due to the liberal about of butter/margarine/grease(?) that they seem to be coated in. Not ideal, but hey I thought they tasted good too. Bacon is bacon and therefore never bad, but it is four see-through thin strips instead of two thicker that I normally get. Luckily. I like crispy bacon because these turn to powder as you chew so well-done are they. All in all, I paid about three dollars more to eat here than I normally pay at Bar Carlo or Detour. The coffee was outrageous, terrible taste and few refills for almost $ 3.00! I pay similiar at other places, but then I am drinking Stumptown or Ristretto, whose beans retail for 10 dollars or more per pound, and I get more refills. I doubt Shari’s is paying a premium for this coffee. So, I guess I may be a snob foodie, but I am a snob foodie who likes to save money and have a quality breakfast, even if it takes longer, so I will not be making a return Shari’s appearance anytime soon.

First off the food: average is being kind. Think Denny’s but with video poker and beer. My wife had to send her quiche back because it was runny. Also I feel like I’m in the way when I’m here, like I’m bothering them. When walking to the restroom for example, the waitresses will slightly increase their speed just so they can walk in front of you. The toilet paper perpetually hanging in the restroom stall to cover the crack in the door is a nice touch. I know where I am, but even Shari’s used to try.

The waitress looks tired and calls you«honey,» the décor is run down, and the food is the same as every Shari’s I’ve ever eaten at. It’s just fine for breakfast but I can’t advise eating lunch or dinner there. We had dinner once and it was so salty and Denny’s like, it was almost inedible. I couldn’t eat the soup at all. If you are looking for breakfast you’ll be satisfied, but skip the other meals and head to McCool’s(same parking lot) instead, especially for Happy Hour.

When one doesn’t feel like going into Portland or driving around I-5 for 24 hour diners, this particular location does the job and a good one at that for fulfilling late night cravings. Like most other Shari’s, the décor is eerily similar and the menus are identical. The food for the most even tastes the same, though I give them the upper nod above others for a stellar breakfast. Parking is not a big deal here, its shared with a square full of other businesses. When it gets late at night, the lot opens up for a lot more spaces to be filled. Another thing to note is that for all of the times that I’ve gone, I’ve never really noticed it being that busy around here. Service is good for the most part, I can see myself returning for more late night fun.
