Elmer’s is a favorite place for breakfast. Everything we order is delicious. Absolutely great bacon! A favorite is the German pancake. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

Elmers has been very supportive of our monthly breakfast meeting for businesses. They have the room ready and they serve a beautiful breakfast.

Food was good but nothing exciting. The hashbrowns were a little off, naybe burnt. Steak though small was cooked decent so that’s a plus. Wait staff was nice enough, and they were understandably busy being as how it was noon, yet we still waited awhile. Not much to complain about but also nothing notable

Good breakfast! Never lets me down. Extensive menu options. Taste great. Can get a little busy early on weekends. Food comes out quickly. Great family spot.

I was in a pancake mood so we went to Elmers. Never had their potato pancakes so my husband ordered them and I wish I had ordered them as well. Very flavorful! Love their regular pancakes too. My daughter enjoyed her crepes. Service was great.

I honestly have never had a bad experience at Elmers. My kids love the pancakes and I love the skillets. I will continue to eat here for many years to come.

It’s not great. The pancakes are good if you’re in the mood for dessert as a meal. But they always manage to get something wrong. The service isn’t managed well, and I get the impression that doing better isn’t a concern to anyone. I’ll try them again in six months to see if they’ve improved — after all, they were good once. Until then I’m not going back.

Every where on the Monday of Labor Day weekend was slammed. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table at Elmers. We were already nearby to grab some coffee and wanted a quick late breakfast and this did the job. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty tasty. My only complaint is that it took a long time for anyone to finally make it over to the table and then it took a while for the food. I would consider stopping in here again for a basic breakfast for sure.

I ordered blueberry pancakes and when I received it, the blueberries used for garnish were a bit still cold/frozen. I tasted one and it tasted rotten. I tried another blueberry and it was a bit rotten too. I brushed the rest of them to the side and then tried the pancake. the pancakes however did taste good. It’s unfortunate that they don’t use fresh blueberries.

I don’t write many reviews but felt the need to let everyone know how much I enjoyed this branch of Elmer’s. I went two days in a row. The first time I had the classic bacon & egg breakfast and the second time a German pancake. The food was fantastic as was the service even thought the place was heaving. I highly recommend Elmer’s to anyone who wants great food at good prices served up by lovely staff who seem to genuinely enjoy working there. Go and see for yourself.

Went there this morning with some friends. It was very good and was a great value. We have had food at Elmers before based on recommendations from somebody who loves their breakfasts. It was packed, which is always a good sign. I had the ranch breakfast and my wife ordered the BLT. I have been to the one in Vancouver which is a little newer location.

We had just flown into PDX airport and were looking for a local restaurant on our way south. Seeing the Unilocal reviews sent us to this place. GOODDECISION! We were greeted kindly and seated promptly. Our orders were taken quickly. The waitress made a point to visit with us and shared some information about the restaurant’s history and well as some travel tips. Sweet. The food was very tasty and well prepared. The décor was simple and perhaps a little old. We’d go back if we were in the area again.

Had the Farmers Omelette, which was VERY good, I think I would get that again and loved the Orange Juice. And Karin(my wife) went with the German Pancake, which I had a bit of, and it was pretty good also. The service was above very good IMO, and we were seated right away, we seem to have a knack of getting in before the rush, as it got very busy from the time we sat down, till the time we left. The food was perfect, and enjoyed it, so overall, I would have to recommend any Elmers, they all seem pretty good!

OKOK I know its Elmer’s but hey I still like this place. I got to enjoy the experience with my Mom and Husband in from out of town and ya know sometimes ya just gotta go eat were mom wants to eat. this would not have been my first choice but hey Mom wanted to eat here. So the best part is my wife and I had just eaten a few hours before we came and Mom and Larry wanted lunch so here we are and what to do. We don’t want to be rude and just have water or a soda and watch them eat, so we decide that we will share a Fish and Chips and a Salad. now being in the business I know this can be kinda touchy with some establishments but hey we just were not that hungry. The waitress(a professional Elmer’s forever employee) did not respond the way I figured. She had not a problem one with our request and actually brought us our salad in separate bowls split for us and brought an extra plate with the fish and chips. She was very engaging and fun to talk with and checked back with us in a timely manner but not obtrusive. Very good experience and would recommend this location to anyone anytime.

I got the country fried steak breakfast meal, which was a disappointment. The steak was rubbery and not enjoyable, the rest of the meal was decent for diner quality food. That was the main problem. The second problem was that the cups of water were tiny, like only 6oz, with 1oz being ice and filled only 75%, giving you about 4oz to drink. This meant I was thirsty most of the meal, with only a single refill after I was«done»(leaving a quarter of my plate uneaten). The presentation looked good, but I won’t post the picture since it will mislead people into thinking it was good tasting. I’ve had better luck with the omelets at the North Portland location, and the Shari’s country fried steak is better(but still diner quality). I would not order this meal again nor would I come back to this location.

Food is about what you would expect from a casual family restaurant. Nothing to write home about — more or less on par with a Denny’s. We went early on Mother’s Day(about 8 am) and they were very busy. Even so, we hardly saw the waitress. She barely checked on us and I had to ask for more coffee — something I thought was a given from a place like this. Meh.

Comfort food served up in a place that will probably remind you more of mom’s kitchen from 30 years ago than the current traditional décor of most eateries. I’ve been to a couple of Elmer’s and I’ve always had to wait a few minutes and never felt like it wasn’t worth the wait. As expected, I went for the Chicken Fried Steak — something I appreciate when done right and they know how to get it pretty darn good here. It’s fresh, crisp with a country gravy that is spot on. My wife had one of the pancake dishes and found them to be very tasty. It’s comfortable, clean, usually very busy. The service is good, the prices are sadly more up to date than the décor but still a reasonable value for the dollar.
