Walking into this place it smelled like my abuelitas house. I knew I was in for some excellent Mexican food. And they did not let me down. This is hands down one of my favorite places to have some authentic Mexican food. I highly recommend it.

This place is awesome! very mom and pop/hole in the wall type place. First off I’d like to start with saying that they’re the sweetest people ever. Always polite and inviting. Second the food is bomb. I’ve had the tacos of asada, lengua, and al pastor. I’ve also had the sope de asada with rice beans. Both things were soooo good. Great thing is the tortillas are hand made in shop! thats super authentic right there. I work a couple doors down at the salon so thats why I decided to try this place. Glad I did! Support small businesses and go here cause they’re super genuine and if you know anything about mexican food you’ll def love this place!

I used to always visit the«other» taco place during Tuesdays in the area. To my surprise, this was so moist and tasty. One of the best tacos that I’ve tasted in my life! No need for a Tuesday promo since the tacos are already delicious, with great value for money. I got the asada, lengua(superb!) and pastor. Very friendly, personal and homey service too. Definitely coming back to taste the other products of this piece of heaven in Valley Boulevard.

Wow this place is so good. I think it’s my new favorite Mexican restaurant nearby. I like trying all the different foods because everything they make is so good. And the owner is a really nice guy.

Inexpensive and good tasting Mexican food. Small«Mami y Papi» type place. Clean inside. I didn’t see Chilaquiles(sp?) on the menu, but I asked, and got ‘em! I’ve been on a quest for great Chilaquiles ever since I first had them at Providence Hospital’s cafeteria. Every restaurant I’ve ordered them in since then seems to have a completely different recipe! El Ta’ Cotorro did a pretty good job with their version. They came with refried beans and rice on the plate. Unfortunately, those both arrived lukewarm. The Chilaquiles and scrambled eggs were piping hot, though. And, this is the type of place where you order at the counter, sit down, and then someone brings the food out. So, the Papi brought our food out before our drinks. My date was enjoying his tacos, but we both needed a beverage. So, I grabbed two Dasani bottles out of the self serve fridge, and asked for those to be added onto our bill. Papi asked, did we still want the drinks we ordered? I said yes, I really wanted to try the horchata. It was worth waiting for: sweet and«cinnamon-y». I’d most def go back, but I think I might try ordering the drinks first, then sitting down with them. After that, I’d order my food. I think I’ll try their tacos next time.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Service is fast and very hospitable. Flavor and seasoning of my carnitas con chile verde and chille rellenos was«en point». Chile Rellenos: A light, freshly made tomato sauce covers a fresh pasilla pepper that’s been de-seeded, de-veined, and stem has been removed. The way a chile relleno should be served(style of sauce notwithstanding). They were happy to omit all of the typical carbs and give me my two dishes ala carte for a very reasonable price.

I like Mexican food. I’m Mexican. I can’t help it…, I’ve been a raw foodist, liquitarian. And all that fun stuff. But I always come back to my enchilada addiction, armed with a few enzymes to wash it down. Okay. So I just finished a plate of Gustavo’s Green Enchiladas and he has that authentic Cotija Cheese on it and I really liked it. He is a humble man and the energy reminded me of my grandmothers kitchen. I am her god son and I loved her food and passion for life. I think I’ll bring my younger brothers here. That never had those summer weeks with grandma and her cooking. I talked to Gustavo about his life and his adventures while waiting for the food to come. It didn’t take long. And I invite you to do the same. Hint. He says this is the best Mexican food in California or Colorado and even Connecticut and every other state eventually and even included the driving routes too. . I don’t know I haven’t eaten at every Mexican Restuarant. But I will come back to this one. God Bless

Came here today for the first time. I had the fish tacos, pastor tacos and also tried the chilaquiles. The gentleman running the place was very nice and welcoming, as was the rest of the staff. The fish tacos were outstanding! Perfect fish to batter ratio on a homemade corn tortilla. Very impressed with those tacos. The pastor tacos were also delicious and the chilaquiles were different than any I’ve ever had, but in a good way, very tasty. The beans that came with the chilaquiles plate were very, very good. I will definitely be back to have the fish tacos and I look forward to trying other menu items as well.

Two Words: Autentico Sabor I found my go to «hole in the wall» taco shop near work. Cross that one off the list. El Ta ‘Cotorro is a small, family-owned taco shop that has a nicely varied menu… tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tortas, combination plates, mole, fajitas, caldos and more. It’s very clean and well-decorated and the owners are extremely pleasant and attentive. For my first visit, I ordered a Carne Asada Wet Burrito with green and red sauce. The burrito was very generous, I’d say 24 ounces. The carne asada was tender and flavorful. The rice was authentic and mixed with freshly — chopped cilantro. I particularly liked the red chile sauce which was well-rounded with a slight bitterness and moderate mouthburn. They also gave me a basket of chips and pointed me to the inconspicuous but ample salsa bar, which included several salsas, jalapeños and radishes. Overall, the food was delicious and satisfied my craving completely. I’m looking forward to going back to try their tortas, fajitas, enchiladas and mole. I’d recommend when you have a craving for authentic Mexican and want a casual, inexpensive meal.

My goodness! This place is beyond delicious! Authentic as it gets. I came with my grandparents and they know whats up! The owner and staff are great! A place venue but worth coming too! Its in the back off valley a bit but a great find! The tortillas are home made per order and the best and freshest tortillas Ive ever eaten. We got to sample a lot of their cuisine and it is divine! A must eat if you’d rather not travel past the border for authentic Mexican food!

Second time ordering here. Ordered a Chile relleno and beef soup. The Chile relleno plate was pretty good but the soup tasted like greasy flavorless water. As much salt and lemon etc I added, it did not improve the taste. Will never order that again! 4 stars for the Chile relleno.0 for the soup.
