So so so so sad that this placed closed… they had the best yellow potato curry I have ever had and now I can’t satisfy my crazy pregnant lady curry cravings… Ugh…

Loved it here. It’s closed now. Replaced by a noodle house.

The best Thai food around! I have yet to find a better Thai restaurant in my travels. The chicken pad thai and yellow curry chicken are my favorites. The fried bananas desert is delicious!

Went here with a friend and we had polar opposite experiences with our orders. I read some of the reviews before going and decided on the yellow curry, which was amazing! I definitely recommend it if you go here. My girlfriend, on the other hand, ordered the shrimp pad thai and it was completely inedible. The noodles tasted«off» and the shrimp smelled like it was spoiled. She had me try and few bites and I agreed that it was awful. We sent the meal back and the chef came out to our table to tell us that we were wrong and that their food is always fresh. He wasn’t yelling, but was visibly annoyed and angry. We asked for the meal to be removed from our check, payed the bill, and left. I doubt we’ll go back, even though the yellow curry was fantastic.

I should have listened to other Unilocalers and ordered their yellow curry :(Came here during peak lunch hours and this place was empty. I ordered L1, which is chicken with Thai basils, peppers, carrots, and bamboo shoots. My order also came with rice and salad. Nothing much to say. Everything tasted so bland. I will come back though to try their yellow curry. Hope it’s good!

Walked in and wasn’t greeted for 5 minutes…, there wasn’t a restaurant employee in sight. Finally sat down and didn’t get acknowledged for another 10 minutes. Wish we could have ordered and tasted the food but it’s somewhat impossible when the staff doesn’t talk to or greet you.

This place consistently puts out excellent food. Their Spicy Eggplant, Pad Thai and Curry dishes are all spot on.

The food here is amazing! It’s a great family owned business, the yellow curry is to die for! When they have it, the garlic chicken is crunchy and delicious! My only complaint is that when my coworkers and I come here, we are on a short lunch break, and we often feel rushed because the food takes a while to come out.

Excellent food! However, the restaurant does not serve family style. In addition, the customer service was adequate. The waitress seemed unattentive when we needed something, such as napkins. The carpet was dirty and the décor seemed flea market-ish. Sorry. I am just being honest.

Friendly family owned thai food. I usually get drunken noodle and yellow curry. Occasionally fantastic, and always good, which probably depends on who is doing the cooking. They aren’t afraid to make it spicy if you ask, which I like!

I found this place by accident and I love this place! It’s been almost a year since I’ve had GREAT Thai food that tastes like home cooking! After a stop at the vet at the end of this strip mall I saw the words Thai food and had a craving for papaya salad. I stopped in and ordered my salad along with their lunch plate. So far I have not been disappointed and have enjoyed their food on all 3 separate occasions. Although one of the dish was a little bit on the salty(fish sauce) side the carrot helped counter act that fish sauce taste. Other than that I will make the drive from Roseville to here in a heart beat.

This place is a gem that is hidden in a strip mall behind Taco Bell. I called ahead to place a pick-up order and the process was easy breezy. They even put all my stuff in a cardboard box to make it easier to take out to my car. How thoughtful! Though I didn’t dine in, the restaurant is clean, a little outdated, but cozy. It also smelled delicious! The food was delicious as well. My favorite was the papaya salad. I ordered it with medium heat and it was perfect. I also got the pad thai which was yummy and the house special fried rice. They are real generous with the shrimp and chicken in both dishes. The fried rice had raisins in it, which I could do without, but it was a tasty dish overall. I also got the prik khing beef which was on the sweeter side, with a prominent coconut milk flavor, and lots and lots of crunchy green beans. Yum. I must have been hungry when I ordered because that was way too much food for two people to share. Gonna be eating the leftovers for the next couple days!

This place definitely does not deserve 4 stars. I was really happy to have heard we will be having Thai food. We had a party of 6. The waitress seems to be very nice at first, taking our order and asking us whether we would like the bill to be split up. We say yes and thanks for the offer. Most restaurant don’t even bother asking, I thought that was a plus. Our food arrive and it every seems delicious but tasted a little bland. It wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be with the medium. I ordered mix vegetables with chicken. There was barely any chicken. They forgot about my boyfriend’s Pad Thai. He didn’t get his dish until after everyone was almost done eating. His Pad Thai tasted like seafood. No it was definitely not label as Seafood Pad Thai. They probably forgot to clean the wok before they made his dish. After dinner was over, the waitress brought us our bill. It was not split as stated. We ask her if we can split the bill. She then«roll her eyes» at us and say«really». Why ask us in the first place if you didn’t want to do it. Overall experience was horrible. I had better service and Thai food elsewhere. Don’t waste your time and money.

I love this place! This was our first Thai food restaurant that we had ever been to. Since then we have tried several others and, in my opinion, they are by far the best. We have never had any issues with portions, spiciness, or long wait times. If you tell them how spicy you want it, they will make it for you. At least that has been our experience. I wouldn’t call myself an avid Thai eater, but I have tried a lot of different places… and I always come back here!

Star of Siam is your above average Thai place. LOTS on the menu to chose from. I am pretty stuck on ordering Pad Thai all the time now. Theirs was pretty darn good. I loved the portions. It wasn’t too big, yet not too small. The Pad Thai comes with your standard stuff — eggs, shrimp, chicken. I counted about 4 shrimp, which is ok, but I got a lot more at Thai Cottage. My partner got the boneless duck curry. Spiciness was Medium. Let me tell you… that is pretty spicy. However, it may just depend on the person eating it. It was very good… lots of duck and veggies. Great sauce and a good amount of rice. Could have used a little bit more rice, just because there was some sauce left over. I would return here. Especially if you are in the area, seeing a movie or something. And there is a Grocery Outlet next door, which is always a plus.

I overlooked this place far enough. Based on the previous reviews I had to come here. I got a good vibe from this place. That’s until I ordered the curry coconut pork. My girlfriend got the same; except she ordered it mild and I medium. The waitress said medium wasn’t too hot. Now I like hot and spicy food but this sh*t was unbearably hot. I took one bite out of it and couldn’t go on. So instead I moved over to the Angel Wings appetizer. This is a must try. Already the though of stuffed chicken wings is genius. Who would have known to fry them in bread crumbs? This old place did. It was the best thing for me. The coconut curry was too hot and the waitress lied to me so I have to give a three stars for unsportsmanlike conduct. 2 star penalty, 3rd down.

Star of Siam is in the Creekside Plaza with Petco and Grocery Outlet. at the very left end. They serve wine and Singha beer. I thought their food was very good. Their Angel Wings is two deep fried and breaded chicken shaped like drumsticks and stuffed with ground meat mixture and it comes with a sweet sauce. My brother used to have a girlfriend that made some great egg rolls and the stuffing of these Angel Wings reminded me of what she used to use in her egg rolls– ground meat, shredded carrots, and silver noodles. The nostalgic factor probably made me like it more than I would have. It’s meat stuffed with meat. pretty much. Everything I’ve had, I thought was okay to really liking. We love their Panang Curry and they can custom make the degree of spiciness from mild, medium, to hot. During lunchtime, they offer lunch specials at around $ 5.95 a plate that includes soup, salad with peanut dressing, rice, and an eggroll. The place is a little dated. It has wicker fixtures hanging from the ceiling and the tables and chairs are older but well kept since the upholstery was intact. Foreign music played. I’d say it looks better in the evening when the lights are dim as opposed to the daylight showing everything like hmm. the carpet doesn’t really go with the table covers, etc. etc. but it’s good food, nice people in a slightly plain strip mall restaurant. RECOMMEND: Tom Yum Gai Panang Curry Shrimp Toast
