Went with my Mom. She got the cedar grilled salmon and I got the Fiesta chopped chicken salad. Mom said hers was delicious and it must have been because she ate it all. My Fiesta chopped chicken salad was good as usual, but it came in a small amount and I wanted a whole salad not the half. I was told it was the whole salad. The waitress, who was excellent, let the manager know I felt the salad was the half salad. The manager apologized and gave me another half salad on the house. I probably won’t order the delicious salad again because if what they originally brought me was indeed the regular size then I won’t pay $ 10.49 for such a small amount. Overall the dinner was great. I’ll go back, but will order something else.

Service was awful. When they brought our meals…35 minutes later… they didn’t even acknowledge that my daughter didn’t get her meal and had to hunt down our server because there was nobody around. I asked for ranch and ketchup… she checked to see if we got it AFTER we were done eating! Not even an apology! My kids had cheese burgers… they were black and i wasn’t about to wait to tell her and wait again. Needless to say it won’t be our pit stop on the way to or home from Tahoe. No wonder Applebee’s are closing everywhere!

We ordered 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We got our entrees first. My salad had less then 5 pieces of lettuce. It’s never a pleasant experience when we go to any apple bees. Service is slow and waiters don’t seem to enjoy their jobs.

Great customer service and food! Kevin took great care of us, he was very attentive and anticipated our needs. The food was really good and plated nicely. It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten at Applebees and I’m glad my family and I did. Thank you for a nice dining experience.

We walked in and sat at a table in the bar for their Happy Hour. The assistant manager brings us our menus, she tells us that so and so, will come and take our order. Well, we could’ve waited for hell to freeze over, because the server wasn’t coming to take our order. Sad, because the place was quite empty. Hell, there were so many workers standing around with nothing to do. But so many diners waiting to get service. After waiting for twenty minutes, we said, Fugget it! We found two seats at the bar, the bartenders were good but lagging. Sure they know how to take drink orders but lagging in taking food orders. Regardless whether we sat at a table or at the bar, the place needs to train their servers better. We noticed servers at other tables fricking eating alongside the customer! We noticed that there were a lot of employees just walking around with no purpose. While clearly, there was a lack of servers available to tend to tables. Anyone notice that’s an issue? While the HH specials are freaking awesome, good luck trying to get someone to take your order!

Had a $ 25 gift card here, so we went for an early dinner. Staff was friendly but there were several tables needed clearing in bar area before we could sit down. Once we did we realized the seats were still wet! Gah! Service not great. Server friendly, just disappeared for long stretches. Food meh. Not a lot of flavor and obviously nuked. My chicken was hard to cut and the gravy tasted odd plus the garlic mashed potatoes were pretty grainy. My husband liked his shrimp. Portions on the small side. Was only offered one drink refill, so we nursed them as long as we could. They opened a few months ago and although the restaurant is a badly needed addition to the area, they need to step it up and work out the kinks.

Normally I really like coming here and I never had issues before other than their portion size but that’s just because of the portions at other restaurants. I really enjoy their buffalo wings and Mac and cheese. However– today the chicken came out and I was just not impressed with how it looked– I asked the guy whom delivered it and he said the pinkish red was normal– I’m pretty sure its just a vein but it’s still not something I’d like to eat. While half way through my meal I found a bone– I let two staff know and they said sorry… But seriously that’s gross and they should’ve offered a free meal or something.

Eh, it was average as far as chain restaurants go. It wasn’t bad food or service, just nothing to say, «oh man this is really good.» I had the mango jalapeño rita and it was good but went down too quickly(too small).

It was ok, service people on the floor were great .the food: there was nothing wrong or bad, there just isn’t anything that wows me at all. The service was attentive but confusing. one person seats you, another takes drink order, another the food order, and somebody else actually brings the food. seemed strange.

Had a nice dinner with my partner my meal was chicken & shrimp w/grilled onions & mushrooms tasted good. Danielle our waitress brought the meal to the table on a sizzling platter which was good presentation. The only thing is the meals are small and I walked away feeling like I finished an appetizer for the full cost of a dinner. The service was excellent with Danielle our waitress having a nice presentation being polite and accommodating.

I have been to this Applebee’s with my family 7 – 10 times. Our customer service has been wonderful each time. Sometimes the server just brings the refills without asking. I know all servers are different but we have had some good servers. The food is always consistent. They have the best French onion soup, better than Red Robin and any of the neighboring restaurants. I really appreciate the consistency of having good food and service. It’s nice to have a new restaurant in the area with great lunch specials. I hope the other people that did not give good reviews have better servers next time.

On a Thursday evening my boyfriend and I roamed around the area to find a place to eat… and thank god my boyfriend caught their 2 entrees and 1 appetizer for $ 20 deal! I’ve never been to an applebee’s before so i was quite excited to try this place out! When we arrived, the front desk guy opened the door for us and welcomed us in and quickly seated us. We ordered a Grilled Chicken Wonton Tacos for our appetizers and for the entrees a Three Cheese Cavatappi and a Sizzling Burbon St. Chicken & Shrimp(total order $ 20.21) Service was quick, easy, fast… total wait 10 – 15 min. Grilled Chicken Wonton Tacos — HOLYMOLY these appetizers were super delicious! Crispy wontons + the slaw + chicken = beautiful combination Cheese Cavatappi — cheesy and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and tangy… tasted just as similar to a fettuccine alfredo… 4⁄5 Sizzling Burbon St. Chicken & Shrimp — Chicken was cooked well, quite juicy but it lacked quite a lot of flavor… bland. Shrimp shrimp shrimp!!! was beautifully cooked and seasoned well. I’m quite surprised with their reviews, but overall I had a wonderful experience with being a first time customer here!

Went here for the first time today. We have been by it a few times but never went in. It’s new and modern looking inside with plenty of wood and well lit. My wife and I sat in a booth in the bar and started liking right off. We noticed so many new items on the menu it took awhile to decide. I had the Quesadilla Burger which was cooked perfect! A little messy but that’s no big deal. My wife had the Sizzling Chicken and Shrimp. We started out with the deep fried Asian tacos in which all was really good. Our waitress was very attentive and we were seated just after getting in the door. We went in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. The only downside which was not Applebee’s fault at all was the lady behind us coughing up a lung. We plan on coming back. It’s nice to have a place you don’t have to go miles to get to.

Kevin… He is why they get four stars. The food was ok which is why there is no fifth star. But lemme tell you about Kevin. My family went here for dinner last night, and we brought my grandmother. My grandmother had taken a terrible tumble a few weeks prior and had hit her forehead on the floor. Due to some medications she takes the blood was draining from the injury in a weird way and her face was mostly discolored purple(she is white). Kevin didn’t even bat an eye, in fact he was extra attentive to my grandmothers dining experience, and flattered her so that she didn’t feel so self-conscious…and I could tell that made her genuinely happy. Kevin was also great with my son, who had a certificate for being student of the month, and he encouraged him to keep up the good work. Kevin didn’t miss a beat: our glasses stayed full, our napkins and other such items were brought and removed as needed, all the while making sure that my grandmother was content. I read some of the other reviews for this Applebee’s. I saw a lot of ‘bad service’ complaints and some complaints about the food quality. I will admit that our food didn’t knock my socks off, but it was tasty and about the right price, and I would eat here a few more times before completely passing judgement it, be it good or bad. And thanks to Kevin, I intend to come back often. If these other employees(from the bad reviews) conducted themselves like Kevin did this place would have five stars… They’ll hafta up the ante on the food first, and that isn’t a very far climb anyway… I had the baby back ribs and I about sucked the bones inside out. I also have to say that every other employee we encountered was pleasant and helpful. One of my favorite movies is «Waiting…», which is a comedy about a chain restaurant similar to Applebee’s. The manager used a corny phrase during the movie: ‘The difference between«ordinary» and«extraordinary» is that little«extra». Although phrases like«extraordinary» and«amazing» used to describe things such as great athletic feats or natural wonders like Niagara Falls, nowadays they tend to be so over used that they have lost their true meaning. However, in the context of customer service, Kevin was extraordinary. not just for the above reasons, but also for saying kinds words and bringing a smile and happiness to my grandmother when she was probably feeling not so wonderful. Kevin, thank you. You are a credit to yourself, your team, and to Applebee’s Inc.

1 star because I can’t give it 0. Disclaimer: I won’t be taking about food much, because despite the food tasting good, the terrible service left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I would never go back. Upon walking into this Applebee’s, husband and I commented on how nice the interior was(which it should be, since it’s new). We sat down at the bar and after about 10 minute the waitress who looked like a 17 year old white girl desperately trying to be an animé character(think multicolored hair in crappy pigtails) took our orders… we then realized that for any food we had placed an order for, that we’d be waiting an additional 10+ minutes for each item to arrive at our table. Our waitress was much too busy chatting with the other waitress gals at the front of the restaurant. At one point, animé wannabe waitress stopped by to ask my husband if he would like a refill on his iced tea. He replied, «yes, that would be great thanks.» She don’t take his cup, or even go to the back, instead she walks her butt back to the front of the restaurant where she again begins chatting with her friends. All my wuts. Da f*** just happened? We watched her for 14 minutes(yes, we timed it) while she just dicked around at the front. In the meantime, we tried to get the attention of another server, any of them, just so we could ask for a refill but everyone who walked by was dead set on not making eye contact or bothering to listen to our cries of, «excuse me??!»(At this point I needed a refill as well) No joke, after the 14 minutes passes by, she walks over, grabs my husbands cup and just takes it to the back and brings him an iced tea as if it was no big deal. Like, girl, do you realize how long it took you to bring us an item that you asked if we wanted more of? Are you brewing this tea up fresh or something? At this point, we had also informed her that when we asked for extra marinara sauce to go with our mozzarella sticks, that they had given us salsa instead. She gave us a blank look and went, «oh– weird». A very nice black lady came out from the back within a minute to bring us more marinara sauce and she was very apologetic over the mistake(which really wasn’t a big deal, except that we couldn’t get anyone’s attention for 15 minutes). What’s worse, is that the alpha-douchenugget«manager» who was on that shift kept walking around the restaurant with no real purpose or intention. He would stand around and survey his restaurant seemingly proud of all he had accomplished in his 27 years of life, then would walk the restaurant a couple of times before stopping to chat with the waitresses who were up front blowing off their job. This was literally all we witnessed him do in the 60 minutes that we were there. He wasn’t going around taking to his customers or helping out at all, he was just wandering around aimlessly until he decided it was time to chat up the ladies again. The ONLY reason we even left a tip was because there was $ 1.13 left on our gift card and we didn’t want any reason to ever to have to come back to an Applebee’s. Normally I’d talk to the manager to relay my disappointment, but what would this guy have cared? He just wanted to look around at his pride and joy of a crappy Applebee’s and think he owned the land. Hands down, the worst service ever received at any restaurant ever. This wasn’t just customer neglect, but pure«I don’t give a shit.»

I hadn’t been to an Applebee’s in years, so when friends/family suggested it, who was I to argue? Maybe they got better. First off, the menu… Less is more. I couldn’t decide what to order, because they had multiple pages of pictures of food. Here’s a tip: Have pictures and descriptions that look like they would taste good. I ordered the appetizer platter. A place like Applebee’s one would think that they know how to make cheesesticks. Nope. Had to send it back. Typically, fried cheese sticks are melty when you bite into them, not rock hard and barely warm. Second attempt, they were decent, but still not fully melted. The other part was my kobe style meatballs. As a Lakers fan, perhaps they modeled it after what eating Kobe Bryant’s gym socks would taste like, because I had never felt more like a cow chewing cud when, ironically, eating(supposedly) high quality beef. Everyone was ok with their meal, except my little sister(Bless her heart), at the innocent age of 16, kept making me laugh with her colorful descriptions of the homemade dressing. Since I am polite, I will not repeat it. I think I would rather have leftovers from Denny’s than eat here again. I may sound melodramatic, but I suppose I need a reminder why I only eat here once every 3 to 4 years. Bleeech

So my mother and I have been here about 20 times since they have opened. We have a really accurate idea on their food, service and atmosphere. We’ve become friends with many of the waiters and waitresses as they see us almost everyday since they opened. Half the time so far there is something wrong with our order inside the restaurant. Sometimes it’s the kitchens fault and sometimes the waiters fault. I shouldn’t have to worry about my food every time I order. I’ve read the other reviews and agree with their accuracy. Most recently today I placed a car side to go order of the cedar grilled chicken with extra rice. Pick up my order get home no extra rice but extra lemon juice which I could care less. For dinner we order the same thing and my mom goes to pick it up and they charged her $ 1.99 for the extra rice which I have other r Croats from every time we go and have never been charged for the rice. To bad we gave her the exact price we paid for this afternoon expecting that ordering the same food twice in the same day we would get the same price. Guess we were wrong because of poor service that can’t get orders to go correct which are more important than in side the restaurant. People should t have to check all their food in their car they ordered before they leave. They have a long way to go before their curbside is past a 2 star rating. I will add more later just horrible curbside to go experience.

I went to dine in for the first time here today. A-OK experience. I did have to ask twice for water and silverware was brought out after my food was delivered. Servers were pretty friendly though and food and drinks were good.

Since I am the first to review this«Applebee’s» location, they celebrated their grand opening on December 23rd, 2015. And it is definitely a warm welcome to the city of Citrus Heights which lacks an «Applebee’s» restaurant(even in the busy Sunrise Marketplace). And surprisingly, there are NO locations in neighboring Roseville which closed their only restaurant back in 2009. What I find intriguing about this particular location is that it is situated in the busy Stock Ranch Plaza(on Auburn Blvd.) where giant retailers Walmart and Costco stand. I had made a trip here with my lady on the evening of 12÷26÷15 around 10:00pm as the dinner rush had already died down. The parking lot was rather spacious as even on the busiest days, you shouldn’t have a problem finding a spot. Upon entering, I was very impressed of how modern and chic this«Applebee’s» location was. There was an abundant amount of flatscreen TV’s for your viewing pleasure, a spacious bar area, and plenty of booths/tables for couples and larger families. The lighting also gave it an extremely up-to-date and almost futuristic look to it. So I would definitely rank the inside décor a solid A. As we had entered, we were greeted immediately by the hostess. Since this was only the 3rd day of actual business, there were a lot of new employees that were still learning the logistics of restaurant training. In fact, I must have seen at least 15+ employees; many of them were still learning the ropes of customer service. Fortunately, our server was very polite and took our orders without being overly nervous. Since we already ate dinner a few hours prior to this, we decided to keep it simple by taking full advantage of their Happy Hour specials. We both ordered their«Wonton Tacos»(which were ½ off at $ 4.00) with an order of «Mozzarella Sticks»(also ½ off at $ 4.00). I decided to go with a pint of Blue Moon while she opted with a Sierra Mist. My beer came out iced cold and tasted amazing. Since there were a very high amount of employees here, our food arrived in less than 5 minutes! The tacos are cooked well, flavorful and crunchy while the mozzarella sticks(with marinara sauce) are your basic nibblers that you can pretty much make at home. Which takes me to the average 3-star rating of «Applebee’s». Their food has pretty much just been«A-OK»; nothing out of this world amazing and nothing below mediocre. I have always gotten a consistent meal at every location I have dined at. Overall, it can be very tricky and challenging reviewing a new business especially when they’re trying to work out the kinks and fine tuning. I will probably write an updated review in a few years which would give us a more clear perspective of how well the business will do with changes and turnover in staff and management. But for the city of Citrus Heights, this«Applebee’s» is a very nice addition to their city.
