The staff at Ulta really impressed me tonight! I live ten minutes from the store and called in to see if they had a special brand of lip stain that I’ve been dying to try. Upon my arrival to pick it up, the gloss that was put on hold for me went missing. Literally everyone working that shift was looking for it(it also happened to be the last one). When they couldn’t find it, I was clearly bummed. A young make-up artist came to my rescue and found a shade that was even better, but out of my price range. To remedy the inconvenience, she gave me a 50% discount. The store may be small, but the staff are absolutely stellar. They are the very essence of great customer service!

I have to say– I normally only go here for of the selection because the staff is terrible. However, I went this past week and Marcus helped out my friend and I on our lunch break and he was fantastic. He was helpful, humorous and got us what we needed quickly, even helping me remember my coupons and applying my points. I wish I knew when he worked because I would only go during those hours.

I wish I could give this place a 0 stars… this was my experience. Set up an appointment for a wash and dry/style as I was feeling lazy about doing this myself. Went into the store/salon and no one was in the salon area. I asked a nearby employee if anyone was working back there as I had appointment. Yes, a young woman came over and said she was my stylist as well as a manager. Oh good, someone with experience is always a good thing but really how difficult is a wash and dry? What could possibly go wrong? The washing part was fine, no scalp massage but I really didn’t expect this here. She, the stylist, explained that she was also a waitress part time and I thought that was quite ambitious, she wants to earn money, bravo! She started to dry my hair and seemed tentative about using a brush. I have thick hair and she needed to pull the brush through the hair in order for it to dry. After a few minutes, too few, she decided that she was finished as her next customer was waiting. No flat iron or finishing. Just some light spray. It didn’t look finished. I walked up to the register to pay and slid my hand up through my scalp where I felt a handful of soaking wet hair! The underside was completely wet! Not just damp. This meant I was heading home to dry my own hair and them restyle it. I paid the $ 30. And when asked if I wanted to leave a tip on the credit card, politely said, «no». I thought I would share why if I was asked about the lack of tip, but no, I was I was not asked about it. Went home, dried and flat ironed my hair and it looked great!

Eh… small store. Really don’t like the way it is organized. They have a lot for the space, but everything is so crammed together it makes it uncomfortable and hard to shop. The staff isn’t very friendly at this location either. Go to the Deerfield location. Tons better.

Good selction of products but the staff that work here are TERRIBLE!!! I’ve been in several times and the service is consistently BAD. They get two stars because they offer a great selection of high end products which I like at moderate prices. They do not regularly say hello when you walk in and if they do it’s with a snotty, apathetic tone and don’t even look up to see if you respond. No one asks if they can help you find anything so good luck, you’re on your own. I have seen three different employees applying their own makeup at the the stands designed for the customer! Talk about self-centered, egocentric, superficial employees. Check out is usually the worst. The people up front barely take two seconds away from whatever converstaion/gossip they are discussing and literally seem put-out to be helping you. Unless they want to talk about themselves in regards to whatever you purchased and how«one time, they used it, and they liked it cause it made them so beautiful…» I suppose I’m glad these people are selling grooming products and not managing my money or providing my healthcare, or really doing anything that requires them to think beyond themselves. If you want good service, go to Sephora.

This place has almost EVERYTHING! You name it, they got it. Name brand cosmetics, hair/nail products, hair accessories, etc. Just like Sephora, you can test out some of the products before you buy. They have a salon(which I have not tried), Benefit Brow bar, store specials, rewards program, and coupons you can print out or come in the mail. The only thing I don’t like about the coupons are some products are excluded. For instance, I use Bare Minerals and they will not accept coupon for that brand. Other than that, staff is helpful and a repeat customer.
