A great Mt Adams bar with awesome bartenders. Ross is one of the best Bartenders Mt Adams has to offer.

Oh the Tap & Go. It’s amazing what Mt. Adams used to be, and what it’s trying to become. The Tap & Go is a representation of the latter, and represents the move from the multitude of dive bars in Mt. Adams to a more sophisticated pub-style hangout-kind-of-bar. The mood is set right as you walk through the door and are greeted by a large pool table [free pool on Thursdays is great by the way]. The people here are friendly, they have a decent selection of beers, and if you end up wanting to get rowdy they have a Big Punch you can pound on next to the bathrooms.

Seriously a good old fashioned bar. I hung out in their outdoor patio where the fire was stocked regularly while my friends played giant Jenga. The bartenders may be drunk but they still know how to pour a guiness perfectly. Like a boss. This is one of my favorite bars in Mt Adams and it’s not just because I played rugby in college. This is just a solid bar. No twerking.

Small place. We were here during an early happy hour. When we asked for a well whiskey diet the bartender had to go on a search for whiskey? The outside courtyard with the bar out there is a nice feature, but the ground is pretty uneven so if it was crowded I would probably stumble around.

For my girlfriend’s 21st birthday I wanted to put together something special which of course lead to a surprise party. After reviewing various venues and party bus options, I opted to go with Tap & Go in Mount Adams. Although it’s a rugby bar, they have their own private room that comes equipped with several plasma screen televisions, a pool table, your own bar and bartender, and a courtyard. We were even allowed to bring in our cake and supplies to decorate for the event. The party couldn’t have gone better and I have to give a huge shout out to Brian the bartender as he did a phenomenal job and was extremely personable and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this venue for any function based on it’s cost, features, and service.

I had been to this bar during the winter and was underwhelmed. The bar area is tiny and to get a drink, it might require a little pushing and shoving. I was pleasantly surprised this Saturday night when a group of us discovered their quaint(and quite large) patio. Though the bar area was stuffed to the gills, the patio was empty. AND they have GIANTJENGA. Other than that, this is a pretty standard Mt. Adams bar with the standard(young, college-aged) crowd. Its pretty much a beer bar, but does have wine and liquor. Prices are standard for the area as well. Wouldn’t be the first place I would go to in Mt. Adams, but also wouldn’t be the last.

After having a quick bite at Mt. Adams, Ken and I strolled over to visit some friends at Tap & Go. This is a great little bar located directly across the street from the pavilion. Its a bit«cozy» but i enjoy talking with regulars. You walk into a small little bar with about 9 seats total, the room next to it has a few tables while the outside patio was prob my favorite. While it is smoking, there are alot of tables and house music playing both inside and out. Sara our bartender was really fantastic. I ordered a bacardi oakheart and coke, Since they didn’t have Captain for Ken he couldn’t decide what to drink. I asked Sara to make him something fun, not fruity or flowery. Ken looked worried when i didn’t tell him what was in it, cause honestly i we just pulled a few drinks together. Let me just say that Sara knows her stuff. I had one of those and Ken had 3 and our bill was just $ 25, woohoo! There is a parking lot next to the place and some street parking, but its Mt Adams so you know it gets packed fast. Make sure you park in a proper area or else get a ticket. While they don’t serve food, we witnessed someone call in an order to the pavilion and it came across the street very fast. Yes they delivered it to the bar, now thats what i call service!

My friends and I hung out here on a Saturday afternoon. The room with the bar is a bit small, cozy but we enjoyed sitting by the window watching the people o the sidewalks and those going in the place across the street. The room next to it was filled with people at tables while the back patio had a small crowd hanging out. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The restroom was clean, but it was afternoon so who knows what it looks like at 1am. This isn’t a bar that touts a craft beer selection but rather viewing of rugby games so if that’s your flavor, this is your place!
