Came in with a very large group that I think threw off the staff a bit since some meals were switched around a lot but in the end my food turned out to be delicious and the beer is amazing! Was stuffed full! Good place to go right by fountain square!

My family went here this afternoon around 2ish. We were seated immediately, and the restaurant looked to be about a quarter capacity. After 20 minutes of making eyes at waiters and no one so much as offering us a drink, we left. They should be embarrassed.

Didn’t get lunch or dinner but had a couple beers and some appetizers with colleagues. The atmosphere outside was very pleasant. On a calm sunny day I would recommend the patio. Appetizers are appetizers, not much to say other than they tasted great. The beer is where it’s at though. I had my fair share of the White Tiger Hefeweizen and it rivals my all time favorite hefe. Great spot, good food and great beer. I don’t think you can wrong here.

Steak was cooked at the right temp but lacked any flavor at all. Had to add salt and pepper but was still bland. And the 12 oz steak was the same price as a 20oz from Texas Roadhouse which I have never had a flavorless steak from. The mac n cheese was weird looking but tasted descent. The service however was excellent but I wouldn’t return.

Nothing amazing but not bad either for a chain. They brew their own beer which is pretty good for the most part and it comes in 5 – 6 different types named for local stuff. Downside is they only sell their beer so don’t expect name brand stuff here. As for the food, it’s okay but pretty uninspired. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty but not too spectacular. The fries seemed frozen which is to be expected. Don’t expect miracles on the food front here. It’s a generic chain in a good location so keep your expectations set accordingly and it’s okay.

Conflicted. I don’t think you foodies will be let down but I don’t think you’ll be wowed. I ended up coming here two nights out of a few, one by choice, the second by acquiescense. There was nothing terrible but nothing outstanding. Great location on a great downtown public space, decent beer brewed on site, decent food and service, and all the feel of a big corporate chain with welcomed but uninspiring consistency regardless of locality. There’s potential for greatness but I’ve got to go with the restaurant and food quality sans the great location which kept me at two stars especially when taking prices into account. Lots of west by southwest influenced dishes – in Cincinnati. The first night I had the Southwest Turkey Burger. Uninspiring though not terrible. The turkey was dry but the spicy toppings saved it. Kudos where due though – the fries were great. The second night I had the Santa Fe Ranch Chicken Salad. This was actually quite good with fresh greens and nicely seasoned chicken. The beer? I ordered their house Porter at the bar and I liked it so much it’s all I drank despite better available pairings with my entrée choices. Rock Bottom, Cincinnati has some great local food traditions. Maybe play upon those. I had some great street corner food.

Rock Bottom is always at the rock bottom of my list of places to go to downtown… yet I still find myself here every once in awhile(sometimes against my own will) and I question my choices, my friends, and everything I know to be true in life. Ok yes, a bit too dramatic… they do have a few things going for them: a patio on fountain square, beer, a menu big enough that there’s «something for everyone», and they seem to be good for larger groups. At the end of the day though, Rock Bottom is the epitome of a chain to me… they have a large menu where everything sounds decent but not great(and a bit unoriginal) and the servers just don’t seem to care enough. Even when they don’t seem extremely busy when there are a bunch of empty tables, we’re lucky to get water refills and see tables bussed. For some reason they can’t seem to get their table numbering right. maybe because they have different servers taking orders and bringing out food to the right tables. On two separate visits, about 6 months apart, the servers repeatedly tried to deliver our dishes and checks to other tables, or would try to deliver dishes for other tables to ours and have dropped off a check to us for a neighboring table. Rock Bottom is probably not a place I’d recommend to others, but chances are I will still end up here again for a mediocre to disappointing meal.

My overall experience here was just meh. I made a reservation and my boyfriend and I were seated immediately, but it took awhile for our server to show up. Finally a server(not ours) stopped and took our drink order. Our server finally brought us our drinks and took our order. Yet another server(not ours) brought our meal to the table. I ordered the fish and chips. They were okay, but the breading was super soft and not crispy like I thought it would be. They also don’t have regular tartar sauce, but a sort of chipotle mayo or something. I didn’t care for it at all. The coleslaw that came with the meal was tasty. I probably won’t come back here. It’s always super crowded and the food is just meh.

I’ve eaten here many times and I think that the food was considerably better when they first opened. It seems like over the years this place has gravitated to be more of a bar with food versus a restaurant that also has a bar. The food has become a bit too much fried and standard bar fare.

Well besides it being a busy Saturday night, we were sat in one of the busiest sections of the restaurant, we weren’t greeted by a waiter upon sitting at the table, water/drinks didn’t come until after the food was up, which the food took almost 30⁄40 minutes to arrive, also our nachos which were cold came to the table after the main plates came… Several other tables near us got drinks and food in half the time it took for my girlfriend and I to get ours. Overall a pretty bad experience, would be willing to give a second try if I’m ever in cinci.

I have been here many times since I moved to Cincy and this time it seems to be going downhill. We came for just some drinks, but there was no room at the bar(which is very small, for a «brewery»). It used to be that the tables in the bar were part of the«bar» but now nothing but the bar stools are included. We put in our names just for a table to sit at and for half an hour watched 4 tables sit empty as we «waited» for a table. Service seemed slow and no one but our waitress seemed to be happy to be working here. Our waitress was attentive and polite, especially for the fact that we were just having drinks. Food here is kind of «chain foodish» but okay.

Definitely the best place I’ve eaten in the Cinci area. The black bean and corn flauntas were beyond yummy! The chicken n’ Mac was just as I expected and tasted great as well. My boyfriend got the beer battered fish and chips and next time we go that will definitely be what I get. Great atmosphere and service. And the flight of beer was only $ 6 can’t beat it!

Stopped here for a couple drinks and appetizers to start my night out off. This place is constantly busy during dinner hours due to being in the heart of downtown on fountain square. That being said, I expected their staff to be able to handle busy times. It took almost 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and even longer for our server to come back and take our order. I had the buffalo boneless wings that were mediocre. The second appetizer we ordered were the southwest egg rolls, which I absolutely loved!

my wife and I went here last night for dinner under a 7pm reservation. walked in and was seated immediately. logan was our server and greeted us within just a few short minutes of sitting. he took the time to explain the beer types and flavors and the menu as well. he kept our drinks filled and was very attentive to us. my wife ordered the mac n cheese and I got the steak and shrimp. both were fantastic! The dining was in a casual environment and was very busy. I loved the place and it was my first time going there. the only reason I went was because we had a couple gift cards. look, I’m not a high class guy but the food I was served and the service we got from Logan made me feel like I was buying a fine meal at some snooty resteraunt, but with cool people instead or stuck up jerks. I cant wait to go back to this place again sometime and I hope everyone else has the same great experience as we did. Logan, if you ever see this, thanks for making an old Army vet and his wife feel like royalty for the hour we were there.

Went there with my coworkers and I got the apple beer(I think one of the only they don’t sell since I don’t like regular beer) my Co workers got two different types of beers that they sampled first and really liked. I got the fish and chips and it was quite good however the batter was not my favorite but it was not bad either. Another coworker got the 2 a.m. burger and said it was absolutely delicious(I wish I took a picture because it looked really good). The ambiance was nice and the staff was friendly.

I was very sad at this place. There was a long wait time of 50min which I understood and had no problem waiting. The host staff did very well being kind and patient to the disgruntled people that came in and walked out due to the long wait time. No problem there. Where I had the problem was the waiting staff and the food. Since we waited quite a while, we already checked the menu to see what we wanted. Took a bit to just meet our waitress. She was able to take out order a long with our drinks. Some of us ordered alcoholic beverage but unfortunately only part of the Bev orders were brought out. It took 15min and one of us to go to the bar to order ourselves to finally get the rest of the ordered drinks. The big kicker was the food… It was cold like it was sitting out for a looooong time. The food did take over half hour to be brought out which is understandable for being busy but not have cold food to be brought out. Very disappointing. The sad thing was that it was just appetizers! I orders the jack sliders and my sister ordered the steak slider. Both awfully cold. The steak slider looked like they just put a slice of steak on a little burger and called it a masterpiece. Mine was the jack and the cheese was really cold with the meet. My boyfriend couldn’t eat his share because of how bad it was. He NEVER refuses meat. It was very disappointing. We left after that and went got hot meals elsewhere.

This is one of those times I wish I could write a review for maybe 3 ½ stars. Our group had gone to the holiday market today then walked to fountain square for a late lunch. We didn’t have to wait long for our table, which was nice. However, we did wait a little while for our food. My mom and I ordered chorizo stuffed pretzel bites and were so excited to eat them, they sounded delicious. Then when we got the order there was literally no chorizo in the pretzels at all! I took a picture to show that there was nothing inside. Then when the order came, there was a miscommunication and my «2 street tacos» turned into a double order of 4. We told the waitress about our appetizer and she offered to get us a new one but we didn’t get a second order(we would’ve preferred to have it taken off the check). Then we felt bad but we told her I didn’t order that many tacos so she removed half from the bill. The food was typical bar food and nothing to write home about. With 2 mishaps during our meal, I had to lower the overall rating. Not a 5 star experience.

Great local place for dinner and drinks. We went to watch a Bengals’ game. The services was prompt, and the menu full of options. Our waitress gave us some info on the place since it was our first time in. As far as food goes, substitute the Mashed Potatoes instead of fries. They were AMAZING! The main dishes weren’t that fantastic, and I definitely won’t get the guacamole again, but sides were seriously delicious and complimented the meals well.

I’m actually a little bit surprised to see that this place doesn’t have a higher rating. Admittedly, it didn’t knock my socks off, but I thought it was a pretty good(and much more decently priced than most other restaurants in the area). I was in the area for a conference, and we had such an enjoyable experience that we actually ended up going there twice during our short stay. During my two dinners here, I tried the a steak, a burger, the beer flight, and the long island. All of these options were pretty tasty in my opinion. And the beer flight in particular is a good deal, especially if you are interested in trying many different beers. Plus, every employee we interacted with was attentive and helpful. I suppose this isn’t a groundbreaking establishment, but if you’re interested in a meal that will probably be pretty good and pretty affordable, I think this place will hit the spot.

Rock Bottom is located in a fabulous place on a revitalized square. You can watch sports on a huge television outdoors at Fountain Square or sit out and drink beers while listening to live music. Or you can visit Rock Bottom. It’s a huge restaurant that also happens to be a brewery. At the bar you get more of a sense of the brewery side with a view of all of the brew tanks. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. I had their delicious shrimp and lobster enchiladas. The spices and various sauces were a great compliment to drinking some beers. Their menu also offers a burger with an egg so that’s an automatic plus! I ordered the beer flight so that I could experience all of their beers. Overall, the beers were slightly better than average. If you are looking for the brewery experience then this place disappoints as it has the feel of a chain restaurant/bar rather than a brewery. I would go back, but Rock Bottom fits in as average on the brewery scale.
