I know that some of the previous reviews of this location(Kings Auto Mall Rd) are a bit mixed, but I personally had a great experience when I went. I was looking for some weight plates/dumbbells, and they had a great selection in the store. Most of the weight plates were your run of the mill, average-quality sporting goods store brands(e.g. Cap barbell, Marcy, etc), but they also had a few hidden gems(e.g. nice quality York plates) in stock as well! The used section is particularly good for weights, as you can find dumbbells, barbells, and plates for about half the price that you would pay at a sporting goods store. In addition, many of the used items are lightly used and do not show heavy signs of wear at all, which makes the deal even better. One of the other Play it Again Sports locations that I visited on the same day had very low stock in terms of weights, so I recommend checking out the various locations if one location doesn’t have what you need. The people at the counter were very helpful and had no issues honoring a coupon that I wanted to use. Overall, it was a good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again next time I need sporting goods. **Pro-tip: there is usually a good selection of barbells at the store, but if you’re looking to build your own weight set, I’d get the weights from Play it Again and pair that with a better quality barbell. All of the 7-foot Olympic bars I saw in stock were rather low-quality bars with bolted-on sleeves. I would recommend a nicer bar like the Cap OB-86B, which has internal bushings(for better rotation) and sleeves that are held in place by snap-rings instead of bolts. At the time I wrote this review, the Cap bar was $ 120 from Amazon, so it’s quite reasonably priced for a decent bar.

Play It Again Sports is a real gem. We’ve bought everything from golf clubs(both men’s and women’s) to baseball bats to jump ropes and treadmills — they have just about anything you could want. Don’t waste your money at the big impersonal chain stores if you need sports equipment for yourself or your kids. PIAS has new and used stuff which is a plus(and you can see it in person before you buy unlike online stores). Bonus, it’s been a family owned business for many years so they know their sporting goods and the owners are great people. Highly recommend!

Horrible. We will never give this business our money again. We were just in to this store and an older woman with short hair was extremely rude and unwelcoming to us. And she made it very clear from the moment we walked in that she didn’t need or want our business. She was incredibly unfriendly and I’m disgusted by how we were treated for absolutely no reason at all. We have been regular customers of this store for a while now but I’d rather buy new equipment than to give her another single dime. In the 4 or 5 minutes we were there we had the WORST customer service experience ever. No thanks. Maybe they didn’t need our sales enough to be friendly but we don’t need her old, overpriced crap, either.

They have an ok selection with ok prices. It’s hard to form a concrete opinion on them, to be honest. We’ve had some instances where we’ve gone in and they were super helpful and have had exactly what we needed at a good price, and other times we’ve gone in where they’ve been rude, disinterested or refused to take their own coupons for questionable reasons. We’ll probably keep going if we’re looking for something cheap, especially since I prefer to support the local economy, but every bad experience we have there pushes me furhter and further toward Amazon. I’d say go in expecting the worst and then if you have a good experience you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

They totally lost a star today. I had a coupon for $ 10 off my purchase of $ 40. So I bought a little over $ 40 worth of equipment. At the checkout I presented it and they wouldn’t honor their own coupon. What kind of business does that? I can understand if it was expired or for a different location but their address was printed on it and it still had a few days left on it. I’m pretty disappointed, especially since I like Play it Again.
