This place is spacious and geared toward families. It reminds me of the old days when my dad took me to the bar to play pool, grab a soda and socialize. They also have a children’s menu. It’s so kid friendly they even have a baby changing table in the bathroom. This place is not an average bar is also a concert venue. We even got the experience of a live performer. I played pool with the kids and we had a really good tasting meal. The bottles of wine are half price on Wednesday. The service definitely could have been better, but the food was good. There were just a handful of people and one waitress. It seems that Wednesdays are a pretty slow night at this venue. Many times they have concerts with a cover. There’s a huge patio area outside. They have darts, corn hole and pool. They have some pretty cool drinks. I like this venue a lot. It seems like a cool hang out. Keep in mind it’s not a place for a group of teens.

The food was great & they are vegetarian friendly, which is important to me. It’s a fun atmosphere to catch NFL games on Sunday(lots of TV’s!)

I’ve only been in here to eat a few times and the food has been wonderful every time. I have gotten their fish sandwich twice and it is delicious. I add American cheese to mine and got it with the saratoga chips. I have tried their fries before but there is something I just do not like about them. Saratoga chips were decent. The potato skins were a little dry. Their mac and cheese wedges are great! I crave them all the time. You dip them in their spicy buffalo sauce and they are oh-so-good. The service is always pretty slow and we are usually only one of five people in there. Luckily they have never been busy when we go. There apparently is outdoor seating, but I have only ever sat at the bar.

Love the food especially the spicy bbq boneless wings and chips with ranch/salsa dip! Bartenders are very friendly and attentive too. This bar is a well spent friday night with great food, local brewery beers and great bands. We have been making it a once a week trip lately!

We recently moved to Deer Park and decided to try MVP out on their Monday happy hour all day special! We sat at the bar and although service was slow starting off — drinks came quick but then it was another ten minutes before we were asked to order our food — the food was cooked to perfection and everything was super tasty. The lady ordered the Never On Sunday Sampler and the gentleman ordered the All American Burger with fries. The sampler came out just a minute or two before the burger, and everything was superbly cooked to perfection. All dipping sauces were excellent — it came with marinara, ranch, and their house salsa, we asked to also try to buffalo garlic sauce. The buffalo and salsa were stand outs, but all 4 were very good. The chips were really tasty, too! The burger was fresh on a nice big bun and the fries were hand-cut. The food was five stars all around. The waitress kept our drinks full — coke and a 1.50 happy hour domestic beer — Yuengling. The bar was a little loud with Xavier fans for the St Johns vs Xavier game, but we didn’t mind. Plenty of big screens and it looked like some arcade games up front. The bathrooms were clean, the water tasted good(important to us), and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back with friends and family!

Came to MVP’s to see a band on Friday night. This band brings in a huge crowd everywhere they go. Unfortunately MVP was not staffed for a busy Friday night. Multiple birthday nights plus the band crowd and they had two people working the bar. Two. One didn’t even seem to know what he was doing. Multiple shots that we ordered we had to explain to him, they were basic shots(ex: buttery nipple). Anytime we came up to the bar it took about 15 minutes to get a drink. Kinda disappointed that they weren’t adequately staffed that night yet had a cover charge. Overall, more experienced staff would help this music out greatly.

I recently moved to deer park and had been to this place when it was play by play, I was not too impressed. So when i moved right down the street on plainfeild and needed a local bar to call my own. I decided to give MVP a shot since I had not been in since it changed owners. Upon entering I could tell the place was well kept, clean with tons of Tvs for sports– not a huge sport fan but I like the atmosphere. I was immediately drawn to their pretty epic beer selection as I am a craft beer and IPA kinda guy and this place did not leave me short on options– they had me at psychopothy! Any-who, I have been there many many times and each time I dig this place more and more. I have been in for lunch on a weekday, Saturday nights at 11pm and weekend lunch time and its always the same… awesome food and even better service. Their staff friggin kills it. They hustle constantly and make sure they get you what you want when you need it. I’ll name drop because they deserve it– Lisa and Colin have more than impressed me each time I have been in. The music is always good and they have no shortage of variety, anything from acoustic to metal to trivia. I even came in a few weeks ago and it was the owners bday party and he was friendly as can be– only after saying hi to him did i realize he was the owner and it was his birthday. I hope this place does well because they deserve it for sure.

MVP is under new ownership and they flat out get it. They’re booking good bands again, having a comedy night once a month or so, trivia on Thursday nights and a live DJ on other nights. The new staff are FANTASTIC! The food is solid again. I liked this place before but I love it now! Update: Ok, this place just keeps getting better under the new management. The app menu is fantastic! They offer Loaded Tater Tots! LOADED. TATER. TOTS. Freakin’ awesome addition and the only time I’ve ever seen this on a bar app menu. Why have I not seen this before? It seems so obvious now! The thing is… they have fresh cut fries that are as good as any fries out there. No joke. These fries are LEGIT! I usually like my fries with cheese, bacon, chili and whatever toppings they’ll throw on for me. What can I say? I’m a fan of excess. But these fries are a work of art. I want nothing more than a sprinkle of malt vinegar on them because I don’t want to cover up their perfection. They’ve made more FANTASTIC hires too. They kept Lisa, one of my favorite bartenders of ALLTIME and have added Josh, Colin, Kyle, Tabitha & Stephanie into the regular rotation. ALL are friendly and I never wait for a drink here. On busy nights when they have a big band in they have a server on the floor with jello, gummy bear and pudding shots! Nice touch! Upgrading to five stars. A great place that keeps getting better.

This is excellent neighborhood sports bar. Good prices. Solid bar food. The set up for TV’s is mostly outstanding. Many screens and very high quality. The negatives are hanging lamps that can sometimes block the view and sound quality that is not bad but could be a bit better. The people are friendly but it’s definitely a local joint. I definitely give it a strong edge over the chain wing joints nearby.

I feel like MVP’s really doesn’t know if it is a restaurant or a bar. I understand the whole bar and grille, but this place is a little confused. Play By Play was cool because they knew who they were… a cool bar with good live music. I think when the new owners took over they wanted a restaurant, but the place just so happened to have a big stage in the back, so they have random bands playing there from time to time. My wife and I went there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday evening around 7:45. I was really excited to try the Greek food as the owners are from Greece. When we got there we were told there was a $ 5 or $ 10 cover charge for the band that was playing later that evening… I understand paying a cover to bar for bands, but at quarter ’til 8, when you are marketing your food to customers I feel is a little ridiculous… needless to say we decided to go elsewhere. A week or two later my wife convinced me to go back up. We did not have to pay a cover this time, but the«Greek» food was just depressing. We started off with the Greek Dip… This was more or less a bowl of warm tzatziki sauce with black olives(not even kalamata) in it served with pita bread. I ordered a gyro for my entrée… it was OK I guess. It was cut incorrectly(way too thick) and was presented quite sloppily. My wife’s chicken sandwich was over-cooked and dry as well. I hope this place does well, as it is in my neck of the woods… I think they need to find their identity more than anything, and after eating the food, I would suggest that they stick more with the bar and less of the food… I’m sorry to say it, but MVP’s was nothing more than a Greek failure.

I’m happy to have this bar a mile from my house. It’s nice and clean and the food is good. I’ve had boneless wings there twice. The first time I was disappointed that a few of the tiny chicken crunchies were counted as wings, but the second time all eight of them were a good size. The pretzels and cheese are delicious. The only thing I wish was different about this bar was the crowd. Quantity, not quality. The two Saturday nights that I’ve been there the place was nearly empty by midnight even though great bands were playing. I hope that’s not a sign of another closure and reopening to come. They haven’t been reopened long, so hopefully they’re just getting started.

The bars renovations look great, food is awesome. You can get a burger, chicken sandwich, salad, some wings and potato skins or a gyro. Yea they have an entire Greek section. How many sports bars can you get spanikopita at? There’s a jukebox, dartboard and golden tee. Tons of TVs and they have the nfl ticket. Karaōke Tuesday is alright, but trivia wednesdays are my favorite. Dj on Thursday and Friday and I think bands on saturdays. Definitley different than the previous venue, and worth checking out!
