I ate dinner at the bar this evening. For some reason, the bartender that served me wasn’t giving me the same service as everyone else. There were 4 other customers. Not busy. I sat down and waited for a good 5 to 7 minutes before she came over and she actually served someone that came in after me as soon as they sat down. I ordered an Iced Tea, Caesar Salad and an 8 ounce Filet with crabmeat(Oscar). In observing her serve others next to me, I was never offered bread, a glass of water, and she never checked in with me(although the manager did) to see how my meal was and when she served my Filet, I had to ask for another Iced Tea and it was clearly empty. The food itself was mediocre and the Filet was a bad cut. I ordered medium and it came medium rare and the toppings were luke warm. The bill totaled $ 83 and it wasn’t worth it.

I’ve been to other Morton’s before(Chicago). Disappointed in this one. Certainly not the best steak in town. Service was fine, food was underwhelming. My wife’s filet was a too Rare to be Medium. 22oz Chicago Style BoneIn Ribeye(not a true Tomahawk) was overpriced at 58 $. Crème Brûlée was ok, but slightly burnt and lacking real vanilla flavor. Bread was an onion boule which nearly exploded with crumbs all over the table. Embarrassing. Music was really off. A very strange selection for the atmosphere. Service was fine, a little pushy to bid up the bill. Bill total was 220 $ for 2 modest glasses of wine, spilt salad, two steaks, sized and a dessert. Won’t be coming back, won’t be recommending it. Head to Rubys or Ruth’s.

Wow, what an incredible disappointment! My fiancé and I were looking forward to a wonderful Christmas Day dinner and we enjoyed only one good thing from our dining event there… the bread. For close to $ 300 we had one adult beverage each(with one made missing berries that were mentioned in the menu) two 12oz fillets, a side of onion rings, sauteed brussel sprouts, a tuna tower appetizer and a chocolate sunday for dessert. Here is the results of each item: The fillets, ordered medium, were so overcooked for the ½″ of the outside that they were chewier than the cheapest sirloin cut from a roadside diner while the center was raw. There may have only been a few millimeters inside the fillet that could have been called medium. Morton’s technique of charring the outside does not work with thick cut steaks. I am not sure ordering medium rare would have been any better and just added more of an ultra rare center. The sides were nothing better than can be found at a family buffet restaurant. My appetizer was the tuna tower that consisted of a pile of finely diced tomatoes, tuna, onion and possible avocado but all I could taste was raw, undressed tomato. It was truly bland with something that gave it spice but no flavor. It was to be eaten with a half dozen of tortilla chips. The dessert was sold to us as a brownie covered with chocolate brownie, chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and what we got was a bowl of syrup, ice cream and whipped cream and no brownie to be found. I could say that we returned the incorrect drink, steaks and dessert back to be properly prepared but we didn’t…this is not the kind of restaurant that should make those kind of rookie mistakes. So I have the bread(which we finally had to ask for just prior to our main course) as the only positive and even that was a failure since it was delivered unsliced and to do so with a steak knife left a table full of onion chips, bread crumbs and bread that crushed to 80% of it’s size after hacking at it with an improper steak knife. There was nothing about this meal that displayed any special skill to prepare so I can’t say they only a bad night but rather, they provided an overpriced meal that left us saying a Longhorns Steakhouse fillet is far better at ¼ the price! For the record, I have eaten at many(Precinct, Jeff Ruby, Ruths Chris etc) and know what $ 300 for two should give you but this Mortons didn’t even come close and I left feeling like someone stole $ 250+ out of my wallet.

For an establishment with this reputation, the service was unacceptable from start to finish. It’s truly a shame, as I had been looking forward to eating there for some time. I don’t know if they don’t have enough wait staff, or they just don’t care. To start, our server didn’t stop by our table to take a drink order for at least 10 minutes. He then rushed us through the ordering process to the point I had to tell him that we wanted to sit and actually enjoy the meal. My husband ordered a drink, was brought the wrong drink and when he mentioned that the drink was missing an ingredient, the waiter tried to tell him that he ordered incorrectly. Even if this was the case(which it wasn’t,) at a restaurant of this level, the waiter shouldn’t have gotten defensive. We had to ask THREE times for bread, which we didn’t receive until halfway through our dinner. We were told that because this was a birthday celebration, the dessert would be free, but it was added to our bill(and they were out of our first choice of dessert,) and they also were supposed to take some kind of commemorative photo, which also didn’t happen. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed– for the price and reputation of this restaurant, I had expected so much more. The food was fine, but I’d just as soon go to The Precinct, where I know we’ll receive service worthy of the price.

My mother and I were in from out of town and were not dressed for a place like Mortons(think-tank top and jean shorts), but we went in anyway feeling like we wouldn’t belong. However, the service was AMAZING. It wasn’t busy when we went but our server was so kind and nice. The bacon wrapped scallops are unforgettable! And of course the steak was amazing too. Left very full and very happy.

Service is good. One person in our party had filet which was very salty, she sent the steak back, when the manger brought it back it was almost rare, she ordered medium, returned the steak again, the manager actually brought the steak back crisp and burned on the outside. The steak was removed from our bill. The NY strip was excellent for another person in our party. The restaurant is way over priced and the food has decreased in quality over the years. We have dined there many times over the years and noticed this decrease in quality and increase in price. There are many upper scale restaurants in the area that provide a better quality for the price.

Went tonight to take advantage of the Summer Finale menu. Our server, Valerie, was personable, efficient, and awesome! She wasn’t too schmaltzy and didn’t bother us too much during the course of our meal. We were celebrating a birthday and they put a candle in her mousse and treated us all brilliantly. The filets were beautiful! Cooked to perfection and the amount of char… ooooh!

Arrived late and gal at bar was very friendly and told me I had time to eat. I ordered the filet and asked for med/well. She told me it would be cooked all the way thru and suggested I order med+ which I agreed to. I also ordered the bib salad. Unfortunately, the meat came very red in middle medium/rare and the bib salad had some brown lettuce and some dark lettuce pieces that just didn’t belong it. It also seemed like there was a lot of dressing on it or it had been dressed well in advance. Not very fresh. They offered to take meat back, but we all know how that works especially when you have already cut into it… the whole experience goes south as does the presentation. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn’t go back unless invited as there are a number of other options in the area. Again, service was good, but bar tender had a hacking cough which isn’t something you want to hear when you are around food/drink at what is supposed to be that type of ambiance/assumed quality and price-points.

This Mortons hasnt been updated since the 90’s.(Lots of black lacquer). I was very dissapointed by the overcooked lobster and charred filet. The $ 13 baked potato was average at best. Tasted like it was microwaved. Washed it down with $ 54 bottle of wine you can buy at Rite Aid for $ 8. Very dissapointing

I hate that I have to give my absolute favorite chain restaurant 4 stars but this place is the only Morton’s that I have been to(Hawaii, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Louisville) that had less than stellar service. If I were rating this place against Chili’s then it would get 5 starts. The one thing that Mortons never fails on is the quality and consistency of their food. They will prepare and cook it for you exactly the way you want it or they will take it back and make damn sure that they do the second time. I think that on this occasion, that they had a new girl that was serving us. I know it sounds sexist, but when I go to a nice establishment, I always prefer a male server over a female server. They just seem to know their shit better and have a more professional posture about themselves as well. The server did a sufficient job but did not do well enough for me to even compliment her. Being in the service industry myself, I always make it a point to stop my server and let them know verbally that they did an excellent job and went out of their way to service me that day. I feel like a great tip is nice, but hearing from someone that you are doing it better than most is just as rewarding. Restaurant managers, in general, do not show a lot of appreciation to their employees. Anyway, as I digress, Great Food, Nice location, just need to get some better servers.

Extremely expensive. A male friend took me here. He had a porter house(I think), I had a rib eye. We each had baked potatoes and a salad. Each had a vodka martini and split a bottle of wine(not expensive wine-I think it was the cheapest thing we had at around $ 40). Anyway the bill came to $ 360. The steak was ok but nothing spectacular. I’ve had much better at much cheaper places. I make much better on my grill at home. The service was nothing to write home about either. So for me, the value for the money just wasnt there. Not something I would do again, nor would I recommend it to someone else

Me and my friends had a wonderful experience. There was no special occasion we just wanted to have some fun and enjoy some GREAT steak. The server knew everything about everything on the menu. We really enjoyed him giving detail on certain dishes and he even offered his opinion on many options. They also took great care of my friend who is allergic to gluten. They had a separate menu and Michael also knew that very well. Joe, the manager was extremely polite, had great etiquette, and was very easy to talk to. We had a good amount of small talk before we ordered and he made us feel very important to their business. Everyone in the restaurant staff beams a smile your direction when you come in. The food was fantastic and I plan to come back seeing how that was all of our first times. Me and my table left very full and very happy!

I haven’t been to a Mortons in about 10 years. I remember it being an incredible experience from the ambiance to the perfect steak with a perfectly paired wine. My experience this time around was nothing like I remember. The service was below average as well as the steak and the presentation. There are better places to get a steak in Cincinnati. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I’ve been to Morton’s for happy hour several times and love it. It’s one of my favorite happy hour locations downtown. They have some really great snacks and bites for very reasonable prices. I personally love the Filet Sandwiches with a side of béarnaise. It doesn’t typically come with that, but they’re always accommodating if you request it on the side. It makes all the difference. We order them rare and then slather on the béarnaise. Melt in your mouth! The Tuna Tacos are also excellent! I really adore the raw sushi style tuna they use. It’s top notch! The truffle fries are also very delicious, but only order them if you have a larger group because the portion size is enormous(and that’s not a complaint). The Camarita and Mojito are very tasty cocktails. They have some good wine and beer options for happy hour as well. I can’t wait to stop in for dinner!

The only time I go to Morton’s is when they are running a special. Why? Because the steaks are good, but not great, and the prices are far higher than the quality of the beef. The only exception is the chocolate lava cake, which happens to be the best dessert I’ve ever tasted. Service is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is classy-uncomfortable(it just feels uptight). We went last night for the Halloween special. Already wise to the ridiculous up-charges, I stuck with the«as is» items. $ 35 for a Caesar salad(good), 6 oz. filet(perfectly cooked, but not the best filet), horseradish mashed potatoes(excellent taste but for being served lukewarm), double chocolate mousse(good). My husband, not realizing what an up-charge costs at Morton’s ordered his filet Oscar-style; this cost $ 13! The other couple who accompanied us had a couple cocktails, beers, and also upgraded their steaks. When their check arrived, they were visibly shocked. Bottom line: it’s worth going for a special as long as you avoid making changes. If you want to drop a lot of cash and enjoy the best steaks in the area, try the Precinct or Ruth’s Chris.

We have only been for happy hour but they have some great selections on their Power Hour menu for very reasonable prices. Definitely try the filet sandwiches and the tuna tacos. The truffle fries are amazing but they are huge. Skip the steak tacos. They were disappointing. The corn tortillas were extremely dry. The filet trio was pretty good but the sauces were very overpowering of the flavor of the steak. The camarita is a delicious and a refreshing option for a drink. The bartenders are friendly and good with the mixing.

Is Morton’s losing some of it’s Mojo? I’ve been a patron for the past decade and for the first time, I feel like I’m starting to see a bit of consistent slippage in the quality. Don’t get me wrong — Morton’s is still fantastic, but it used to be flawless and I would defend it’s name with all my loyalty should he topic of best steakhouse in a particular area be discussed. My wife and I decided to treat ourself to a rare night out this past week and Morton’s was our pick for the big occasion. We have been to Morton’s at least 50 times on our own, and even more so for business and social occasions, so we know he menu inside and out and how things are supposed to taste. We both ordered the steak and seafood special this time, which is a fantastic deal for those that aren’t familiar. For $ 60 you get a filet, appetizer, salad, side and a desert. You can upgrade, as I’ve done on at least a dozen occasions to a porterhouse which runs the tally to around $ 90. So, it’s not cheap, but generally, we feel it’s a good deal given the usual quality. On this given night there were three significant issues with our meal that were uncharacteristic of Morton’s(seems to be more and more common to have these issues the last couple times I’ve been). The Brussel sprouts, which are generally awesome weren’t cooked nearly enough(very crunchy), the porterhouse was the toughest and fatty porterhouse I’ve eaten in a while, the porterhouse was also quite rare on the strip side yet medium on the filet side, and the peach and blueberry crisp desert utilized peaches that weren’t ripe and weren’t baked long enough. For a restaurant of this caliber, it just seems like a lot especially given the track record I’m accustomed to. I can’t help but worry that some of the recent slippage is due to the broad system wide changes the entire chain has undergone. Subtle things have changed if you are a regular(music and décor) and I hope quality hasn’t taken a back seat.

I just love this place. I eat here at least 1 – 2 times per month and have very very rarely been disappointed. I see a lot of people write negative reviews based upon price. Look it is NOT a cheap restaurant. You get what you pay for and if you don’t then say something because they have always been willing to make things right for me and I am nobody important. They went through a pretty extreme menu redesign many months ago which surprised me. Quite a few new options on the menu across the board. I have yet to try them all but so far things seem fresh and well prepared. I still ove their Bisque which is, IMHO, the best in the Cincy area. Unbelievably deep flavor and creamy texture. The Shrimp Alexander is the best shrimp dish I have ever had and I suspect I am honestly addicted to it. One note about the steaks. They often offer these sort of «discount dinnerS» where they will do say 3 – 4 courses for $ 49-$ 59(depending upon the offerings). In such a case, the filet is often not your best choice. It is simply too small in these specials(6−8oz) and it is very tough to cook such a small steak to medium rare in a 1200 degree oven and get it to cook evenly. Either splurge and go with a larger full-sized steak or go with the pork or seafood dishes. The salads are HUGE, the sides are also easily shared by two(sometimes 3) people and the desserts are always a highlight for me. The drinks can be costly but are quite often unique concoctions and use top-notch liquors. The service has always been wonderful both at the bar and when sitting at a table and the location is fantastic. They do have valet parking($ 6-$ 7 if I remember correctly) which is relatively cheap and saves a lot of hassles. I’ve enjoyed so many great meals here and hope to continue to do so for many more years. I have yet to take a friend or a date here and not have them be incredibly impressed by both the food and the service. Do give it a shot but realize this is not The Outback…

Located in the heart of Downtown Cincinnati, this Morton’s is quite nice! On a whim, I walked in and was accommodated immediately with a smile. My waitress was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. The food was, predictably, wonderful. I ordered a mixed grill which consisted of a 6oz filet mignon, 3 grilled jumbo shrimp and 2 bacon-wrapped sea scallops. All the food was cooked to perfection. For dessert I had my first-ever soufflé. Chocolate. It was fluffy and delicious, especially coupled with a nice cup of cappuccino after dinner. Very nice job, a credit to the Morton’s chain.

I came here for restaurant week. We had great service and a great table overlooking fountain square. Sometimes you get an overly-chatty server, but I think this time we were overly-chatty patrons, and our server was beyond accommodating to that :) Food was good which was to be expected, so I won’t write about that. Because they were swarmed for restaurant week, they were out of our first two choices of wine so we ended up with a house which was Beringer– not too bad. Overall, the service and table made the restaurant week experience worth it, because of course you’re expecting great food. It’s a great deal at $ 35/person for a salad, entrée, side, and dessert. But I probably wouldn’t go for a normal night out– I generally favor non-traditional food and service for pricey nights out.
