I hadn’t been here in years but was glad its still up by TriCounty — Mitchell’s up there is nice, parking is easy and the nail tech i had(Angela?) was AWESOME! She was a nail director who’s been there 15 years, and I felt very pampered when she did my mani pedi recently. This location is in a small strip mall by the Steak and Shake, but they’ve done a great job of making it feel like its in a much fancier area. Tri-county has so many shuttered businesses, but I’m happy this one has weathered the storm well and kept up a great caliber workstaff. Kudos to the lady on the scheduling line who also was patient enough to go over three different appointment options at three different locations AND kindly follow my request to not be schedule along with any birthday/bridal parties. The experience was soothing and high quality, start to finish.

Ok I used to think that we’re too expensive. This was until I met my master hair stylist in West Chester. A-MAZ-ING JOb! How much can hair make a difference on appearance?! A LOT! Go for broke lol– just kidding– sort of !

I’ve gotten multiple manicures here and every time I get my hopes up only to receive a cheap mani. The staff talk your head off and talk to each other and while this is happening, you are looking at your nails in horror wondering why you even walked in. My nails always peel off the next day because their polish is always thick and they layer it on too much. Would love the nice experience of a salon but I am not paying 30 + dollars only to be disappointed.

I get massages there every so often and the staff is super friendly and they do a great job! If you sign up for emails they send deals and coupons all the time!

This salon isn’t one of the fancier or more updated salons in the Mitchell group, but I found a stylist I love and keep returning for a reason. She can take my mop and turn it into something not only manageable but appealing. I always schedule with Van. She has been doing hair for awhile and I love coming to her. She only recommends products that you would use, and listens to what you’re saying when you describe problems you’re having or a different style you want to try. Without a doubt one of my favorite parts of this place is they let you drink. Amen for a glass of wine while your feet are up and the foils are in. Bottoms up and split ends out!

After a lot of thought I decided to give Mitchell’s another chance. I spoke with my stylist and ended up going back in to re-visit my hair style. We were able to make some changes that made me happier with the cut. It’s still not exactly what I wanted, but … well, hair grows out doesn’t it? ;-) Anyway, I was pleased with the stylist’s willingness to work with me.

I go to see Kimberly here and I love her. She’s sweet, professional and very nice. The whole location is quiet and very open. I found the front staff to be courteous and prompt with service as well. I also like the central phone line for making appointments(although this is the only Mitchell’s location I have visited).

This is a review of Pedicure Services only. Mitchell’s Salon and Day Spa has several locations throughout Cincinnati. This location is nice but definitely not one of the newer salons. My sister lives close by which is why we chose this location. We went here to get pedicures for my sister’s wedding and they were able to accommodate us with chairs next to each other which was nice. Our nail techs were super friendly and very pleasant; the receptionists however, not so much. That seems to be pretty typical of Mitchell’s, I have encountered more than a few curt and unfriendly front desk person over the years. This is not a budget pedicure, it is on the high end. While I don’t mind splurging on this service every once in a while, the service should not be cut short. I am paying for the full amount of time and I think I was out of here in 30 minutes, that seemed too short of time to me. The end result was excellent and my toes still look great. If you’re going to splurge and it isn’t too far out of the way I recommend LaBella. If you are looking for an awesome pedicure for a steal, I reccomend POLISH in East Hyde Park.

My search for the perfect stylist has been well documented on Unilocal. It spans two states, high and mid-level salons and a whole lotta haircuts. I thought I had found my girl at Beaux Mondes, but like so many of my past stylists, she moved on and didn’t even tell me. That deserves a sad face right? :( Like always, I began my search all over again. I’ve heard great things about Mitchell’s, so I took a chance and booked an appointment. I was randomly assigned Karen and was told I could print off a $ 10 off coupon since I was a first timer to Mitchell’s. I was told her prices up front, so I was going to end up with a bill around $ 35, which is pretty cheap compared to some other higher end salon’s. First of all the salon is super clean, fully-stocked with my favorite hair care line, Bumble & Bumble, and the ladies working the front desk are very friendly. I was sitting for only a few minutes when Karen approached me with a huge smile and a bubbly personality. We talked briefly about my hair(I’m growing out an inverted bob) and decided on getting everything to one length and incorporating some long layers. After a shampoo, Karen asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I decided to keep it straight for the day and then she told me we would do a dry cut, which I haven’t had in forever. She dried my hair and got to work. After sectioning off the hair, she straightened it and cut it, piece by piece. It’s by far the most precise cut I’ve had. I could actually see that the cut was perfect before I got home(see my Liquid review for comments on that, ha!), and my blowout was probably one of the best I’ve had in a long time. She also took the time to explain all the products, without trying to put a hard sell on me. I’m a self-proclaimed hair product hoarder, so the chances of selling anything hair related to me are about the same as Lindsay Lohan ending up in jail. But, before I could make a purchase that I may or may not regret, Karen gave me a little sample to try. So, moral of the story, if you’re looking for a new stylist Karen is a solid choice. I’m definitely going back to her for color and my next cut. Now I just need to her to actually stay at Mitchell’s…
